Chapter 12

Shadow and Gina were fast asleep on the bed when Sonic and the others walked in the room.

Sonic merely grinned at this and started crying a little, happy for his friend.

"Awww, they look so natural!" Susan said happily, louder then Sonic would've wanted her to say it.

"We should let them rest...they need it..." Sonic said quietly, carefully getting in bed as was the others. "Sweet dreams, Shadow..." Sonic said before he went to sleep.

<Meanwhile, near the outskirts of the city>

Lark was drinking a coke from the soda machine before they left their headquarters, Frieta was sitting on a nearby bench, pondering how she was going to capture Shadow successfully.

"That bitch...her kick to my face still stings...I swear, Frieta, she is gonna suffer when I get my hands on her!" Lark mumbled through his soda can.

"Lark, right now we got bigger fish to fry! We need to worry about Shadow and not that hoe of a hedgehog! Remember, we have two weeks to get Shadow or we're dead!" Frieta said to Lark.

"I know that, Frieta, but that girl is only going to get in our way!" Lark said, crushing the soda can like it was cheap plastic.

Lark pounded his fists into the ground, producing three good-sized holes in the ground, making Frieta sweatdrop slightly.

"Damn, if he doesn't learn to control that anger, he's gonna have a stroke...!" Frieta said to herself.

<Meanwhile, inside Amy's hotel>

Shadow had taken Gina to a doctor to see if he had gotten her pregnant, while Sonic and Sonie had taken a "jog" around the city.Amy and Susan went to the store to find some baby clothes, in case Gina was pregnant.

"I can't believe that Shadow finally is going to be a father!" Amy said happily.

"I'm so happy for the two of them!" Susan said with a bit of excitement.

Susan then noticed some adorable blue baby clothes for the baby, thinking it would be a boy.

"I wouldn't put my trust in gender, Susan! That baby might be a girl, you never know!" Amy said, making Susan realize her error.

"I know, mom, but I just have this instinct in me that says its gonna be a boy!" Susan replied to Amy's comment.

"Well...oh, alright...but if you are wrong, then its going to come out of YOUR wallet!" Amy said with a bit of laughter in her voice.

"Whatever you say, mom, whatever you say...!" Susan said before going back to shopping.

<Meanwhile, near the city limits>

"Ready, son?!" Sonic asked Sonie.

"As ready as I'll ever be!" Sonie replied.

"GO!!!!!" Sonic yelled as he and his son started dashing as fast as they could, both of them trying to outdo each other in running. Sonie, being much younger then Sonic, was a bit faster then Sonic, but Sonic still had quite a bit of speed in himself, much much faster then the sound barrier.

"Wow, he's just like Michael...!" Sonic realized as he was cathing up to his son.

"You still got some speed in ya, huh old man?!" Sonie sarcastically mocked his father.

"Never underestimate this hedgehog!" Sonic yelled as he kicked the burners up about five levels as he shattered the sound barrier, going faster then the speed of sound itself.

"Damn...what a runner!" Sonie said as he realized that he would have to kick it up faster as well so that he could beat his father at running.

"I got more then what you saw, dad!" Sonie said, barely understandable to Sonic who was much further away.

"You're gonna have to speak up, I can't hear you!" Sonic laughed as he ran through the city streets like it was child's play.

"I'll hold ya to that!!!" Sonie yelled back as he kicked the speed up, going past the sound barrier as well.

<Meanwhile, at a local doctors office>

"Mr. Shadow, I have good news for you!" The doctor told Shadow, who was anxiously awaiting the news.

"Well, is she...?" Shadow asked, on the edge of his seat.

"Yes she is pregnant, Shadow! It looks like its going to be a boy!" The doctor happily said as Shadow lifted Gina in the air, holding her by the waist as happy as he had ever been before.
