I couldn't stop looking at him today. He was fighting against Eggman again; he was so passionate for what he was doing. He looked so focused on fighting that he didn't even notice me staring. I sat on the side lines, pretending to be invisible, though that was no hard feat, seeing as how he never recognizes me anyway… I want to tell him, but I can't… I think I love him…

Amy took a break from writing in her small diary resting next to her bed; she stuck the pencil in the page to mark it. She could never tell anyone of her infatuation; it would ruin her relationship with the Blue Blur. She fell back into the shadows of her room, pulling her legs up to her chest, laying her head on her knees. She closed her eyes, and her mind went haywire with numerous fantasies and erotic dreams that could, and would, never happen.

She opened them to look at the time: 12:25 AM. This was the fifth night in a row she couldn't get to sleep, and she dreadfully needed it. She got up and walked into her bathroom, getting a drink from the sink. She splashed herself in the face with warm water and wiped it off on the hand towel next to the sink. She yawned, stretching her arms up above her head.

She walked back out to her bed, crawling into the covers. It would be a miracle if she could get to sleep tonight; she didn't have a wink of sleep last night, for the very descriptive images prevented it. She was dying inside; she desperately wanted, needed to tell someone what was killing her inside each night. But she knew she couldn't, for she would just get mocked and ridiculed, shot down again and again.

She rolled over and closed her eyes, turning off the light on her nightstand. Visions of her fancy danced in her head all night; he was fighting Eggman off single-handedly, not showing any mercy at all for the fat man. It was when she got to the part of kissing him she always woke up with cold sweat on her forehead, her sheets mangled because of her restlessness. She propped herself up to look again at the clock: 2:55 AM.

Can this night get any slower…? She thought, lying back down. She dozed off once again into a restless sleep…

She was staring at me again. It was creepy, but worthwhile. It made me feel like I was fighting for something more than protecting the world from Robotnik's evil deeds. I have feelings for her that I probably shouldn't be having. She haunts my mind all day long, so it's hard to concentrate on anything. I want to tell her, but I just can't… I think I love her…

Shadow dropped the tiny journal of his thoughts and feelings on the floor next to his unused bed. He can't even remember why he has a bed to begin with. He kicked the small book underneath the bed and got up from where he was sitting on the edge of it. He walked over to his tenth story window, looking out over the city; the sun was just rising at 6:15 AM. He liked the dark, but could better see his fancy in the light.

He stalked to the door and flung it open, making it hit the wall. He went out into the kitchen to get something to eat, but found he wasn't hungry; he was having trouble eating ever since the girl of his dreams invaded them. He stepped outside of his small apartment, closing the door behind him; nobody knew where he lived, so it was to be kept a secret.

He got in the elevator, pushing the “Ground” button; it lit up and the doors closed, signifying the departure of the contraption. The closer the metal box got to the ground level, the more his heart flipped in his chest. He never let his emotions get the best of him, and he wasn't about to start letting them. He stepped out of the elevator as a man walked in; “Mornin'” he said. Shadow just stalked off.

Once outside, he bolted off towards the rendezvous point with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. He was a little early, so he sat down on a bench nearby. Not wanting to pull attention to himself, he sulked down low. Then something caught his eye: a small, pink hedgehog walking towards the park he was in. His body went rigid and couldn't take his eyes off of her. He watched her walking, getting closer to him…

Amy had her head hung low, looking at the pavement of the sidewalk. She wasn't watching where she was going and was veering right towards the park. She picked her head up, and as soon as she did, she froze. He was sitting down, staring at her; she couldn't tell if it was a friendly stare or an angry glare, but she couldn't help staring back.

She figured that she wouldn't get anywhere if she didn't start taking actions. She stood up straight and started walking slowly to where Shadow was sitting. He looked at her when she said, “Good morning, Shadow,” in the sweet voice she has. He scooted over, allowing her room to sit, not knowing what he was doing.

“What are you doing here?” she asked him.

“I'm waiting for faker and his bonehead friends.” He replied, turning to her; the sun was rising behind her head, only emphasizing her beauty. All I have to do is lean in and…

“What are you guys planning on doing about Eggman?” she asked, breaking his thoughts.

“That's what we're meeting here for.” He said. “This is our new `top secret' meeting place… Some `top secret' meeting place…” he screwed his face up and turned away from her.

“Oh.” Was all she said; she placed her hands in her lap and started twiddling with her thumbs. After about five minutes of awkward silence, Amy finally stood up and said, “Well, I'll see you later, Shadow.”

“Bye.” He said quietly, but she was already gone. He took his gun out and ran his fingers along the barrel; his gun, his only true friend.

“Whoa, Shad. Watch what you're doing with that thing.” Sonic was standing next to the bench now, along with Knuckles and Tails.

“Well, if it went off and hit you in the stomach, do you really think I'd try and help you?” he asked sarcastically.

“…You've got a point…” Sonic said, drooping his head. “What were you and Amy talking about?”

“Nothing.” Shadow snapped, a little too quickly. “…Nothing.” He hilted his gun and stood up. “So what the hell are we doing here anyway?”

“Well,” Tails began. “We decided we needed to come up with a better strategy for beating Eggman. All the other plans we've tried either failed or just didn't work the way we planned. We have to come up with a surprise attack where it hurts.”

“Beautiful explanation, Tails, but I must ask this: How the hell do you think we're gonna accomplish that?” Shadow retorted.

“Yeah, it sounded good on the phone until you went into detail about it.” Knuckles said. “How are we gonna get him where it hurts without him knowing about it? You know he has spies and keeps tabs on us all the time. We have no privacy.”

“He has a point, Tails,” Sonic said, nodding. “How are we gonna do it without him finding out what we're up to?”

“We have to take out his cronies and accomplices, then we can have a clear shot at him.” Tails said.

“I still think it's a stupid idea.” Shadow said, turning and walking off. “I'm leaving. Come find me when you have a real plan.” He ran off down the street, leaving Sonic, Tails and Knuckles staring after him.

He had to get away from them; he was starting to get annoyed at them. They were some of his best friends, but they got a little too crazy for him sometimes. The sky got dark with clouds, signifying approaching rain. He ran along, until he saw Amy sitting, crying lightly on a bench on the corner. She looked up when he whizzed past and started crying even harder.

*sigh* I guess I'd better see what the hell her problem is… he skidded to a halt and turned around, making his way back to her. He sat down next to her and rested a hand on her shoulder.

“What's the matter?” he asked; he thought he sounded corny.

“Nothing…” she sobbed. “You wouldn't understand…” she turned away from him, brushing his hand off of her shoulder.

“Just tell me, God dammit.” He said, a little too harshly.

She jumped up and glared at him. “Just, leave me alone…” she said, turning and running towards her house.

She's one fucked up hedgehog… Shadow thought, getting up and walking down the sidewalk. Maybe I should follow her, just to see if she gets home ok…

He got to her house to see all of her lights were still off. She's not home yet… I wonder if she's ok… He shook the thought from his head; he couldn't believe he actually cared about that, him. All of a sudden, a scream of distress could be heard, piercing the afternoon air. There was a crash of thunder and rain started pouring down.

Shadow ran off in the direction of the scream, glancing down alleys as he went. He halted at one as he looked at a horrible sight: two huge bulldogs were sexually assaulting Amy in a dark, dirty alley, not one block from her house. He ran up to them and yelled, “Let her go!”

“Why lookie, Steve. That little hedgehog wants us to let go of her.” The first one said.

`Steve' looked at Shadow with malice in his eyes. “And what are you gonna do if we don't?” he asked.

Shadow took out his gun and aimed it at his forehead. “I'll end your lives right now.” He said, cocking the gun.

“Oooh. He's got gun, Dave.” Steve said, smirking a little.

“You think you're tough with that thing, huh?” Dave asked, letting go of Amy. Steve dragged her off to the corner; she was still screaming.

Dave took a step towards Shadow. “You take one more step, I'll blow your head off.” He threatened.

“Do it.” Dave said, taking one more step.

“You told me to.” Shadow said; he pulled the trigger and shot the dog right between the eyes. He fell to the cold ground, blood sputtering from his mouth.

“How dare you!” Steve shouted, also letting go of Amy to come attack. Shadow cocked his gun again and shot, hitting the other one in the stomach. He keeled over and fell on the ground next to Dave.

Shadow hilted the gun and ran over to Amy. “Are you ok?” he asked.

“You… you saved me…” she said, staring into his eyes.

“Come on,” he said, ignoring her statement. “I'll take you home.” He walked her back to her house, leaving the dead bodies in the alley.

“You wanna come in and dry up?” Amy asked, standing in the doorway.

“Sure…” he said, stepping inside; the scent of fresh baked pie hit him in the face. He inhaled as much of the aroma as possible, not wanting it to go away.

“The bathroom's down the hall, to the right,” Amy said. “I'll be upstairs.” And she went up, closing her bedroom door.

Shadow walked down the red lined hallway, turning to the right into the bathroom. He grabbed a towel from off of the wall; he dried his quills, legs and arms. He threw the towel on the sink and walked out of the bathroom; he went into the living room and sat down on the red, plush couch in the corner, facing the stairs.

Amy came down the stairs and went into the living room. She saw Shadow sitting on the couch and decided to go over to him. She sat down next to him and placed her hands in her lap. “Shadow… Thanks for… thanks for saving me.” She stuttered; she was cold, but felt a little bit warmer sitting next to him.

“I hate men who degrade women like that.” He said, looking at her. “They're despicable, gross pigs who should be murdered to the most violent degree.” He balled his fist up and shook it. Amy winced a little; he unballed his hand and placed it on her shoulder. She looked up at him, eyes sparkling.

He felt his face get closer to hers, and he didn't try to stop it. Their lips were a breath apart now; all he had to do was lean in and kiss her…

She went the rest of the way, closing the distance between them. She closed her eyes and moaned into the kiss, her first kiss. She could feel his tongue graze her lips as he silently asked her for entrance. She gave in, letting him maul her mouth with his tongue.

He groaned as he let his tongue brush against the roof of her mouth. He was tasting her for the first time; he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his lap. He leaned his head back slightly, taking the kiss deeper. She moaned as his hands freely roamed her body through the thin fabric of her dress.

When his hands reached the hem of her dress, she broke the kiss to stare him in the eyes. “Shadow…” she said softly, holding his hands in hers.

He stared at her intently, not letting his eyes trail away from hers. “Amy…” he whispered, stealing another kiss.

“Shadow, I'm not ready, yet…” she said, leaning back, away from him.

He just stared at her, unblinkingly. “Ok…” he said, getting up and setting her on the couch. Without another word, he walked out of her front door, leaving her on the couch, crying.

She ran up to her room, grabbing her diary from her bedside table:

Entry # 46 - January 16, 2008

Why does he have to be so cruel?! He totally took advantage of me, and for what? A kiss? I can see he's just a sex hungry maniac that doesn't care about anyone but himself and his feelings. I knew he was a little conceited, but not that much…

She placed the book back down, crying her eyes out. She pushed herself underneath her covers, day clothes still on, crying all over her pillow. She turned her light off and closed her eyes, trying to go to sleep…

When Shadow got up to his apartment, he kicked his wall, leaving a hole in it, and walked into his bedroom. He pulled his journal out that was underneath his bed:

Entry # 46 - January 16, 2008

I shouldn't have done that… I kissed her, and when she said she wasn't ready to have sex, I lost it, not wanting to see her. But I regretted it as soon as I walked out the door. I should've respected her feelings, but being the jackass that I am, I didn't. She probably hates me now…

He kicked the small book back underneath his bed, sitting down on his bed, putting his head in his hands. He ran his fingers through his quills, seeing black hairs coming out onto his gloves; he was stressing out, something that didn't normally happen to him.

He wanted to respect her wants and needs, but it was hard; he wasn't used to it. He decided it was time to just chill…

The next day…
The sun rose again at 6:00 AM; Amy woke up, again, as early as she had yesterday. She jumped in the shower and threw on some new clothes; she grabbed her diary and stuck it in her pocket. Taking her time getting down the stairs, she thought about what went down yesterday. She couldn't bear thinking about it; it was just too horrible.

How could he say that he hates men that degrade women? Didn't he do that to me yesterday? She was thinking about what would happen if she did have sex with him. She shuddered at the thought, walking into her kitchen. She poured herself another bowl of the same cereal as yesterday and went through the same procedure.

When she was finished, she stuck the bowl in the sink and went outside. She was sure she would run into him again today, but she would not let her body take over her emotions. She was walking down the street when a pair of hands grabbed her waist. She wisped around, hammer in hands, ready to strike if necessary, but it was only Sonic.

“Oh. Hi, Sonic.” She said, putting her hammer away. “What's up?”

“Uh, nothing, but may I ask what you and Shadow were talking about yesterday before I showed up with the guys?”

“No, you may not.” She retorted; she didn't imply to sound mean, she was just angry at what Shadow did to her. “I'm sorry.” She immediately apologized.

“No, no, it's ok. Don't apologize. It was wrong of me to ask.” Sonic said, shaking his head, letting go of her. “So, where're you headed?”

“I don't know,” she replied, looking off down the sidewalk. Sonic turned his head to see if he could see anything, but didn't understand what she was staring at.

“I see…” he said, turning back to her. “Well, I'll see ya around. Bye, Ames.”

“Bye, Sonic.” She said, walking off down the street. She let her head hang low as she thought about what Shadow had done to her the night before.

Shadow was walking down the street; why, he didn't know. Just to be cautious, he looked down every single alley that he crossed. No Amy… he thought; he sighed deeply. He brought his eyes back around to the front of him, and just in time. He almost bumped into Amy, who wasn't paying attention to where she was going.

“Hey… Watch where you're going… Oh… It's you…” she said, looking at him; she tore her eyes away from him and started walking again.

He grabbed her arm, not allowing her to go any further. “Let go of me.” She said bluntly.

“No. Not until you hear my explanation.” He said, staring at her. His eyes flashed, and she flinched a little.

“Ok,” she said, dropping her head again. “But can we go someplace else other than in the street?”

“Of course…” he said, letting go of her.

He led her back to his apartment, startling her a bit. “I didn't know you had an apartment…” she said.

“There's a lot of things you don't know about me.” He replied, closing the door behind him. She sat down on the black couch located in the middle of the living room.

“So, what did you have to explain to me?” she asked as he came to sit next to her.

“Amy… I'm sorry about leaving yesterday… It was wrong of me to disrespect your feelings like that.” He said; she just stared at him.

“Wow…” she wondered aloud. “It's very uncommon for you to apologize to someone… You must really care about me, huh?”

“Well… Yeah.” He said, taking her hand into his. “Yeah, I do.”

“Well, to tell you the truth, I'm sorry about thinking of you as a sex hungry maniac who degrades women…” she said, looking him in the eyes.

“You thought of me as that? I told you I hated those types of men! Why would you think of me as that? How could you think of me as that?” he barked, standing up and staring at her.

“I'm… I'm sorry, Shadow. It's just that after you left because I told you I didn't want sex, I panicked and didn't know what to do…” she whispered, silent tears running down her cheeks as she trembled. “I'm sorry…”

He couldn't help but to feel sorry for her, so he sat back down and pulled her into his lap again, this time so she was faced him. He lifted her head up and brushed his lips against hers, stopping her trembling. “Amy… I'm so sorry…” he whispered.

She exhaled slowly, pressing her lips to his, breaking the tension between them. He titled his head back, opening his mouth, groaning. He mangled his tongue with hers, making her moan.

He picked her up off of the couch and brought her into the bedroom, never breaking the kiss. He set her down on the bed, trailing his hands on her body. He broke off to look at her; she simply nodded. He nodded back as he took off his gloves, dropping them on the floor, as Amy did the same. He knelt on the bed, kicking his shoes off, while she pried hers off.

“Amy… You can still tell me to stop…” he reassured her.

“No, Shadow. Keep going.” She said, shivering.

“I won't hurt you… I promise…” he said; he wasn't used to be so considerate and slow, but he had to in this situation. He dipped back in for another kiss as he slowly lifted her dress up over her head.

She shuddered as he removed her dress and threw it to the floor; she was really wet, and Shadow could see and smell it, and it was driving him crazy. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed, never wanting to let go.

Shadow slowly removed her red cotton bra, revealing her breasts, which he promptly squeezed gently with his hands. She let out a low moan, which he swallowed. He let his hands find their way down to her panties; he carefully slipped them down around her ankles. He broke off of the kiss when her scent hit him fully.

He couldn't help himself; he buried his face, sniffing as he went, making her moan louder than before. He let his tongue lick at her insides for a minute before kissing her again. “Are you sure you want me to do this, Ames?” he asked; he had never called her `Ames' before, and found that he liked it.

“Yes… Make love to me…” she said, squinting her eyes for the oncoming pain.

He positioned himself at her entrance, pushing in slowly. She shut her eyes tightly, letting out a yelp of pain; he reached down and kissed her again, whispering “I'm sorry…” in her ear. He pushed all the way in, breaking the last of her barriers.

She found that it wasn't so bad, once you got past the whole pain part. He pulled out slowly, keeping his head in, and then pushed back in a little bit faster. She bucked her hips instinctively, urging him to go faster.

And go faster is just what he did; he increased his pace tremendously, Amy meeting him every step of the way. Amy was nearing her peak as Shadow kept speeding up. “Oh… Shadow… Go faster… Please…” she begged, bucking her hips. “Ah… Shadow, I think I'm gonna…! Shadooooooow!” she screamed his name as she exploded all over him.

Her reaching her peak was all Shadow could take. As her walls clamped down on him, he pushed one last time, going over the edge. “Amyyyy!” he screamed, releasing his fluids inside of her. He pulled out and lay limp next to her. Her hair was matted with sweat and she still smelled of fresh apple pie, despite their activity.

“Amy… I love you…” Shadow whispered; he couldn't stop himself from saying it.

She pulled her head up and gazed dreamily at him. “I love you, too, Shadow.” She said, kissing him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him close. “You won't ever be just another entry number…” she said, grabbing her diary from the table.

“You won't be, either…” Shadow said, pulling his out from under the bed.

They each wrote the same thing in their diary/journal:

Entry # 47 - January 17, 2008

I love him/her so much. He/she will not just be another entry number in a book that really has no meaning…

They dropped them on the floor and they landed on top of each other. Shadow stole another kiss from Amy as she dozed off to sleep. He held her all night as she slept; he loved her, even if she was just another entry number…

A/N: Well, I hope you liked it! Please no flames! It would be much appreciated! Lol Thanks for being so patient on any update on any of my stories that you happened to like. I'll try to get back on that ASAP.
