Ch. 5: A Hero when you Need One
Michael awoke from his spot on the grass near the Master Emerald to find that Tikal was nowhere to be found.
"Tikal, where are you?" Michael looked around, but his searching was fruitless as Tikal was nowhere to be found.
Michael started to get worried; what if something had happened to her whil he was asleep? Michael ran everywhere, trying to find any trace of Tikal but found nothing.
"Shoot...if only there was something I could locate her with!" Michael kept running, looking for any clue to Tikal's location.
He found a note on the shrine of the Master Emerald. It read:
"Dear Michael,
We have your beloved Tikal! If you want to get her from us, then you will hand over that Rainbow Ring without delay! If you refuse, then your lover here will suffer the consequences! You ahev 24 hours! Good bye, Michael!
Prof. Shingleman"
Michael tore the note up afetr reading it, he couldn't believe that the prof. had the nerve to take Tikal from him.
Michael sped off towards any place that might house Shingleman, but to no avail. He couldn't find Tikal anywhere; Michael was about to lose hope.
Suddenly, out of the shadows, a man came stumbling towards Michael. Michael looked petrified when he saw who it was.
"Dr. Eggman!!" Michael prepared to fight Eggman, but Eggman held out his hand instead, promising no harm would come to Michael.
"Please...listen to me...I have a clue fo where they have taken Tikal! Its at my old complex about 20 miles from here! Please, Shingleman kicked me out...I want him to pay for disrespecting me! I will never harm you or that Sonic again! Please...I beg of you!" Eggman was literally on his knees.
"Well...okay then...I am holding you up on your word! Don't forget it! Thanks again!!" Michael gave Eggman a grin and sped off like greased lightning.
"You get them...Michael..." Eggman whispered before falling to the ground. Michael had not seen the knife lodged into Eggman's back.
<At the abandoned complex>
"Well, three hours to go, Tikal, and still no sign of your lover! Seems as though he just don't care for you!" Shingleman said.
"No! He does care for me! He prooved that last night! When he gets here, you will pay for taking me!!!" Tikal spat in Shingleman's face, earning Tikal the wrath of the professor.
"You little hoe!" Shingleman slapped Tikal in the face, leaving a red, handprint mark on her right eye.
"Ouch!! That hurt you little prick!" Tikal spat in Shingleman's face again, and Shingleman was about to kill Tikal right there.
"Hold it! Don't you even think about it, Shingleman!!" Tikal turned around to see Michael in the building, having blown down a section of the wall to do so.
"Michael!!" Tikal was jumping for joy inside when she saw Michael there to save her.
"So good of you to show, Michael! Now, hand over that Rainbow Ring! Once you do, then Tikal is all yours! Don't even think of doing anything rash! I am watching your every move!" Shingleman said very seriously.
Michael just grinned at this and started to walk towards Shingleman, imitating a motion where he was about to take the ring of his finger. Michael got extremly close to where Tikal was, and kicked his speed up about 5 levels.
Michael had been moving so fast that Shingleman didn't even see him snatch Tikal from the room and get out unseen.
"No!!! That bastard!!!" Shingleman pressed a button and the building went under lockdown, but Michael and Tikal were already miles from Shingleman.
<Back at Michael's house>
"Thank you, Michael! Thank you for saving me!!" Tikal jumped on Michael's lap and gave him a passionate kiss on the lips.
"Hey, I wouldn't let anything happen to you, Tikal! I love you, and that Shingleman is going to pay for putting his hands on you!" Michael got up from his chair and turned on the television, Tikal had her head on Michael's shoulder.
"Life is perfect...now that I'm with you, Michael..." Tikal said as she fell asleep on Michael's shoulder, Michael flipped through numerous channels, but found nothing good onTV, so he fell asleep as well, his arm wrapped around Tikal's waist.
The sun began to set over the horizon and life was finally peaceful for Michael and Tikal. However, a new breed of evil had just been awakened, and it was hell-bent on destroying Michael for everything it was worth.
<back at the abandoned complex>
"Now... the time has come...Perfect Destruction!!!!!!!!!!! Awaken to the world that awaits you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Shingleman opened the stasis tank, blue smoke billowing out of the chamber, filling the room up. When the smoke cleared, Shingleman looked at his gentic masterpiece that now stood infront of him.
Perfect Destruction looked around; its red eyes staring at the various features and gizmos in the complex.
Professor Shingleman had fixed Perfect Destruction with the latest in technological advancments: from bullet-proof armor to missles stored at its fingertips.
Shingleman had also given the PD claws that were ten times sharper then Mecha Monic's were, twin rocket launchers on its back, and a state-of-the-art lock-on cannon on its forehead.
PD was slightly shorter then Michael was, but packed a tremendous punch in its small frame. It could rotate its head 360 degrees, and it could also transform into a "super-form" with the push of a button. This "super0form" gave its power a boost of 30%.
Also, Shingleman had uploaded numerous data chips into its memory bank, detailing battles of Michael and Sonic; allowing the PD to realize every move that Michael and Sonic could throw at it.
PD additionally had flamethrowers mounted on its wrists, with flames powerful enough to melt steel in seconds flat.
"Now...my Perfect Destruction...Go!! The world is yours for the taking!!!!" Shingleman opened the complex doors, thrusting his arms out as if signaling PD to go.
PD just stood there, its gaze unchanged and showing no emotion. Shingleman may have updated his creation, but he didn't put in it data chips involving aggression and targets. Therefore, the PD just stood there, not even blinking an eye from lack of data.
"...I can see there is still some work that needs to be done..." Shingleman shook his head in disbelief that he forgot some data chips. Now he would have to redo the entire procedure to every last detail.
