Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Guardian Angel ❯ Are you Friend... or Fiend? ( Chapter 5 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
First of all, I apologise that I have such huge gaps in the updating. I’ve been really really busy, but don’t worry, I’m working on both of them.

Second, it really pisses me off that I named both Earth and Mobius on the first chapter. Just so you know it is meant to be Mobius, but I may call it Earth if I forget (which is likely) if you get annoyed with this sorta thing just pretend that Humans call it Earth or something. To be honest they’re both the same planet, just a few thousand years apart.

Third!! Finally, I got a FF account!!!!! My computer finally works with it ^^ so look forward to seeing fics there as well under the name VampireCabbit.

Remember, just plain bold is Shadow’s inner voice, bold italic is thoughts.

Everyone is guilty of something, if you look hard enough.

8 years previously: Phantom Blade HQ

“How did you do that!?” Nails asked the eyes still floating there in the shadows on their ceiling supports, holding the pieces of metal in her hand and staring at the bloody specks that marked where Shadow had managed to walk across the room and hand them to her in nanoseconds without being seen.

“Why should I tell you?” In the brief few seconds that he had actually started talking his voice had changed dramatically, where at first it had been sad and quiet now it was more confident. It had no hint of emotion in it and instead sounded more devious and calculating than anything else. Nails wasn’t sure if this was purely him getting more comfortable with them or if he just changed moods a lot but decided she didn’t really care.

“Because it was amazing.” Nails slipped the metal pieces back into their respective holders inside her gloves and pushed against the spring, keeping them ready for next time. Behind her Kazu had collected his sword and was standing with Sepuku in case Shadow decided to attack once again.

“I always am.” He replied, getting an amused snort from Leo, a smile from Tanto and a raised eyebrow from Nails herself.

“Listen, I think we got off on the wrong foot. We really thought we were doing you a favour bringing you here. Hell, you looked like you needed help.”

“I need help from no one, I am the Ultimate life form! The perfect being!” He said this as though he had said it many times, rehearsed it even. And the sentence was made all the more effective when he dropped down in front of them. They all took a step back from the Hedgehog, standing confidently unarmed in the face of several potential opponents. Shadow fixed them with a glare and a smirk and the group was drawn to looking at his eyes, trying to figure out what he was thinking.

Before their eyes the two small but jagged cuts on his chest began to form scabs, after a few seconds these dropped off onto the floor and left nothing to show he had been wounded.

Perfect.” He repeated, without taking his eyes off of them.

Cream’s walk to Amy’s apartment had been uneventful, and she soon found herself in front of the apartment block. A large moderately priced one overlooking the large City Park which was home to the romantic Twinkle Park within it, always Amy’s favourite place to be. A beautiful mix of glowing lights and fun rides along with the always romantic Tunnel of Love. Something that only Rouge had been on and with who no one knew (although, Knuckles always seemed embarrassed around the park now).

Cream still remembered what Amy had said to when she had first bought the apartment.

“One day Cream. You’ll find a guy you love and then he’ll take you to Twinkle Park! And when that happens, I want to be close by!”

Not the last in a long line of comments encouraging her to date someone. Of course, Amy was always very subtle when she was trying to suggest the Rabbit should attempt to find a date.

“Cream, you should look for a man.”

“Tails is free this Saturday…”

“I’ve got a friend you might like…”

“Wear some of this perfume, they won‘t be able to resist!”

“Some day, you’ll find someone to take on the tunnel of love.”

“Sure, but with the way Mom responds to anyone I meet it won‘t be for a long time.” She muttered to herself and wandered through the doors. I doubt I’d ever meet a guy that she would like. It was true, her Mother did seem to have a negative view of her dating in general, or even simply meeting people of the opposite sex. Cream could only guess what would happen if she ever introduced Shadow to the older Rabbit. She’d probably kill me! In fact, why did I even think of that? Why she had just thought about introducing her kidnapper to her mother she’d never figure out, they weren’t ever likely to meet.

Little did Cream know just how wrong she was.

Cream wondered through the doors and searched for Amy’s apartment and her neighbour with the spare keys.

Gun Fortress: Prison Island Research Lab

Dozens of scientists swarmed around but the room was silent, they were excited but they also knew what danger they were in. Most of them were wearing face masks and all of them were wearing gloves. They were dealing with the real thing after all, and they all knew what happened if a crystal touched you.

They turned to the large metal door as a red light went off on the top. Slowly all four locks began to disengage the vacuum seal, designed to keep anything in or out.

At once they ran to the side of the room, even without contact they still heard it. Each and every one of them with their own message.

“DIE!”

“Your wife left you for a reason.”

“Butcherer, you killed that other student!”

“You’re living a lie.”

“Did she really deserve that?”

It was quickly brought through by a shaking scientist holding it on a long science pole.

It glowed a dim purple, but at the same time seemed to suck at the light. You stared and your attention was drawn to its twisted beauty. They deserved their name - Void Crystals. Crystals of the Void or crystals containing one - or both for all they knew. But looking into one you could see that they contained… something, something that seemed to go on for ever yet was contained in a jagged shape barely the size of a marble.

The more they stared the more they were afraid. And the more the glowing seemed to increase.

“Get this into the chamber! Mass-production starts now!” The voice was commanding and powerful, but it wasn’t there with them. It was being projected over a speaker and so the General could not possible feel the Demons it seemed to stir up in those who surrounded it.

------------------

His eyes snapped open and he took a deep breath.

He sat up and stared at the blanket covering him. The Rabbit must have done it. But why?? Shadow disappeared and reappeared standing up, checking his ribs.

They had healed perfectly, if a bit too slowly for his tastes. He knew his agility wouldn’t be back up to standards for a day or two.

Shadow walked into his own room and checked for Cream, when he realised she was gone his eyes locked open in surprise. Idiot, you’re going to be killed! Shadow was about to run after her when he realised it was midday and he would have to refrain from teleporting as to not lose her sent, if his time stop failed he’d be right in the open for the military, or worse. Sonic.

Shadow changed out of the dusty clothes into near identical ones and picked up a long black cloak with a hood capable of hiding his entire body if he wished and running out of the door, Chaos Emerald in hand.

“If you think your getting away from me that easily then you are most definitely mistaken Rabbit girl!!” Dogs can track people for miles, this should be a cinch for me.

The world crackled with energy and slowed to a crawl for all but one.

-------------------

Cream knocked gingerly at Amy’s neighbour’s door. Not because she was shy (although she was_ but because from all accounts Taila wasn’t exactly normal. Amy had told her about the odd Vixen, who changed her name to Taila in the hope that it would get a certain Fox interested.

Who had experimental gene surgery just to make sure she had a certain mutation to do with the number of tails she possessed, in the hope that it would get the same Fox interested.

Who flirted, awkwardly, with a certain Kitsune whenever he came into a mile radius.

Coming through the door was loud gothic sounding music but the person who opened the door looked nothing like that kind of person. It was a smiling light purple Fox with an odd sort of smile on her face and a pair of jeans with a white top. Looking into the apartment behind her she could see that the entire place was coloured sunset orange like Tails.

“Hello! You must be Cream - SHOT!!” Cream jumped when the odd fake Kitsune shouted the word at the end of her sentence.

“Ur…yes, I was wondering, do you have a spare key for Amy‘s place?”

“Yup.” The Vixen giggled at random. “Sure do, SHOT!!”

“Could I…. have it please?”

“Sure! SHOT!!” The girl dropped the key into her hand without even moving from the door, like it had been there in her hands the whole time.

“Thank you very much.” Cream said happily and then started to get uncomfortable as the Vixen carried on staring at Cream expectantly. “I… have to go now, but it was nice meeting you.”

“Before you go, could you by any chance tell me…. Something?”

“Of course, what is it Miss?”

“Could you tell me where Tails’ workshop is!? SHOT!!” So that’s what she wanted!

“Its in Mystic Ruins, you can see it from the train station.” The Rabbit couldn’t help but notice the Vixens body twitch. “Are you ok Miss Taila?”

“I’ve been trying to get that out of Amy for three years! SHOT!!” Tears were running freely down her face and without saying another word she slowly shut the door on Cream, although she could still hear the occasional bout of loud giggling through it.

The doe stared at the spot where Taila had been and went through a full cycle of confused and astounded faces until she gave up and went to Amy’s door.

Cream stepped inside.

-----------------

The General sat down with a sigh on his desk and began to read through the latest report he had been given. The front was covered in red stickers in dozens of different languages, all warning that it was top secret.

Latest Conclusion of Void Project:

Summary:
As far as we can tell, the crystals feed on negative emotions and can inspire these same emotions in others around them. All attempts to harness the crystals full power have failed, but we believe they are capable of massive energy production- much more than what we have been able to extract.

In comparison to the Chaos Emeralds, we are unsure if they use Chaos energy or another type of similar energy. But the Chaos Emeralds, Master Emerald and Void crystals all appear to be linked very closely. More research on the nature of the Master Emerald is required before we can be sure on the connection between these gems.

The crystals seem to have a severe mental and often psychotropic affect on living creatures. More about this is located in the follow up report.

At this moment we are unsure if the crystals have any intelligence but on your recommendations we are continuing tests.

The crystals have a property unique to them in that they are easily reproduced by simply touching another powerless crystal of any type (we have been using Quartz) they will change to a near copy. However these fake crystals do not have the same amount of concealed power nor can it be steadily released. They tend to explode violently releasing all their energy at once and (unlike the originals) do not seem to recreate themselves.

Abilities:
Large overcharges of the crystals energy(which we have only been able to obtain through an artificial emerald’s explosion) seems to disrupt Chaos energy in some way, we are currently adapting this technology into weaponry in case…..

That was all the General needed to read. He smiled and turned to his phone.

“Deploy GUN troops into Station Square, provide them with the prototype weapons.”

Cream walked into Amy’s apartment and found the familiar surroundings oddly comforting. However she had no time to relax right now, as years of motherly programming were telling her to go have a shower, change into clean clothes and then tell someone about what had happened.

However, the last part was troubling her Maybe... maybe I don’t need to tell anyone about Shadow. It’s not that important after all. And he did save me. From an early age Vanilla had tried to install a strong sense of right and wrong in her daughter, unfortunately the older Rabbit only believed in good or evil and had never taught her that some people came in shades of grey, and so Cream was confused. Mommy always said that a good deed needs repaying, what could be a better deed than saving me from… that. Cream couldn’t even think the word at the moment, it disgusted her to think it. But then if I do that then that would be lying.

The doe sighed and walked into Amy’s main room.

Amy’s lounge had likely started out as a normal apartment room. Unfortunately, Amy had been given free roam. Cream couldn’t say she disliked it, in fact she often found herself smiling and happy when looking at the place for no real reason, but it wasn‘t what anyone would call normal.
Pictures of Sonic covered every available space whilst cuddly toys had been applied liberally to the (pink) sofas and beanbags facing a large wall mounted plasma screen TV. Built in one wall she knew there was a large window with a step out balcony (and a small rose garden) but this was being obscured by the drawn curtains.

Cream decided to shower and then phone Tikal to tell her what had happened, with Amy out of town she was the only girl Cream could trust to keep a secret.

------------------------

Four minutes earlier (well, because of the nature if time being relative this isn‘t strictly true from Shadow‘s point of view, but it’s the closest we‘ll get):

Shadow was concentrating on smelling the doe’s path through the city. This would be a whole lot
easier if she wore perfume.
It was however, made slightly less difficult by the fact that time had been
slowed down to a crawl, ensuring the scents did not mix up very much and he didn’t need to dodge any moving objects.

Still sniffing for her scent to insure he didn’t lose it Shadow reprimanded himself for being so stupid.
I should not have left her to her own devices, who knows what damage she’ll cause let loose? I
should have just taken the damn thing from her immediately!

I realise that as a talking voice in your head my opinion doesn’t mean much but might I suggest tha-

“Shut up.”

“Shut!!” He shouted in frustration before accelerating. Luckily the voice didn’t continue.

Shadow’s air shoes spat fire as he sped on along the street, taking notice in the GUN helicopters frozen in time far above his head.

He was getting closer now. Shadow could guess which building she was in even now.

-------------------------

Cream stepped out of the steam filled shower cubicle and managed to locate a few towels to wrap around her body and coil around her ears. Looking at herself in the mirror she sighed at how messed up her fur was. A few futile attempts with a nearby brush were enough for her to know she couldn’t possibly fix it now. The rabbit sighed and hoped Tikal wouldn’t notice.

Still clothed only in towels she went into the pink sitting room and found her suitcases that she still hadn’t unpacked before managing to find a clean lot of clothes and getting changed into an orange full length dress. She was about to dial Tikal when the phone went off by itself and a very worried looking Sherbet coloured Echidna appeared on the view screen.

“Cream!” She practically screamed into the phone. “Thank God your there, Tails lost you last night and we couldn’t find you at Amy’s and we weren’t sure what happened and your mother-”

“I’m ok Miss Tikal, calm down.” She Echidna took several deep breaths and Cream felt guilty for causing so much worry. “Erm…. what happened to Mr Knuckles? And Mr Chaos?” She could see behind the female echidna in their rather Spartan home was Knuckles, bandaged up and asleep on the sofa. Beside him on the floor was a dull puddle of blue, which Cream guessed was Tikal’s “boyfriend” even though he wasn’t in the usual form he took.

Cream remembered when she’d first been introduced to the “God of Destruction” and Protector of Chao. She’d been simultaneously terrified and amazed at him, the way he could stop bullets with his bare body and summon tidal waves with a thought yet lived only to protect his odd little brethren, the Chao.

“Them? Chaos felt… ill and Knuckles had to subdue him. They’re both going to be fine. But you…. where did you go? Tails said you were waiting in his car and then disappeared!”

“Yeah, there’s a reason for that. You see-” Cream was interrupted by a knock at the door. “Oh darn, I’m sorry Miss Tikal, can you hang on for a second. I have to get that.” The Echidna nodded understandably and the rabbit thanked her before getting up from the Vid-phone.

All Tikal could see was Cream standing at the edge of the screen looking through Amy’s door’s peephole. As she waited she grew increasingly worried at the face of the Rabbit. First it showed shock, then confusion and finally fear and what could almost be anger. She backed away from the door and Tikal could see she was saying something, even if the Vid-Phones short range mic couldn’t pick it up. Cream jumped to the side of the door as it splintered and blew outwards. The wooden splinters being sent into the opposite wall with tremendous force.

“Cream?!? Cream whats going on???” She shouted but to no avail, before her eyes Cream backed into the living room and a creature in a black cloak and a drawn up hood walked in. He stared at the vid-phone and for a second Tikal saw blood red eyes, before he lifted his hand, still concealed by a sleeve, and gestured at the vid-phone. The screen went blank with static before emitting a high pitched whine and exploded outwards in a volley of shattered glass and electronics.

When the smoke cleared Tikal was left there with her hand outstretched, a golden field of light at her fingertips protecting her. It disintegrated at her own will and she was left at a loss for what to do. She couldn’t call Tails to pick her up and the Master Emeralds energy wouldn’t allow her out of the islands range until the Guardian was well enough to manage it again, she’d just have to wait.

Oh Cream, please hang on!

---------------------------------

Cream jumped aside on instinct as the door was blasted open. Looking to the shattered remains of her door she saw him standing there, in a long black cloak that covered most of his body. His hand still crackling with energy and a non-amused expression on his face.

“Shadow!” She backed away from him. “What are you doing here??”

“Obey my instructions and I may not damage you.” His face was a scowl and she found she could hardly move.

“What do you want from me??” She cried out. Shadow glanced at her before turning his attention to the shocked looking Echidna on the Vid-Phone. Dammit, there can be no witnesses! No one can know I was here. I’ll just have to eliminate her. The ball of energy slammed into it and he knew the energy charge he sent into the machine would easily be transmitted and blow the other phone. Even if she survived she wouldn’t be able to speak for a while.

That done he turned back to the Rabbit.

“I was going to be patient with you but now I can’t say I feel like it. Give me your necklace, now.”

“My what?” Cream went from terror to confusion in seconds, she didn’t even own a necklace! The last one she had kept catching in her ears and when it broke she didn’t bother getting another.

“Necklace, amulet, broach, locket. Whichever one of them is preferred just give me the damn thing before GUN tracks me!”

“What? I don’t own a necklace! And GUN? What do they want??” This was not the answer Shadow wanted.
“Let me help your memory.” He didn’t sound happy. “Try six years ago, delivered to your house by a blue fox at midnight.” Shadow was angry, but when he saw the does large fearful eyes staring up at him he could somehow feel she wasn’t lying. She had no idea what he was talking about.

“But I was only 8 back then! I couldn‘t have answered the door for it. My mother must have gotten it.” Cream was confused, now it seemed he didn’t want her, he wanted some sort of necklace. But Vanilla had never said anything about any midnight visitors. Much less jewellery meant for her. And she would never lie, would she?

“I have no time for this, tell me where your Mother is. She has something important.”

“What?? I’m not taking you to my mother! You just blew up my door!!” How could she even explain Shadow to her mother? She wouldn’t let her mix with normal every day people! How would she react with a Hedgehog who thought if someone doesn’t answer the door it was invitation to destroy it?!?

“You act like you have a choice Rabbit girl.”

“And what will you do to me if I don’t help you?” She spoke simply.

“I will…” Shadow trailed off, he could easily kill the doe but something about her didn’t let him think if it. And he needed her to locate the crystal after all. Shadow sighed in annoyance. “You may not realise it Rabbit, but the longer your mother has your gift the more danger she will be in.”

“My mothers in danger? What’s so important about it anyway?”

“It contains something that’s very powerful, something that everyone wants. Come Rabbit girl, we must leave.” The Hedgehog turned to the door.

“Do I have a choice?” Shadow looked back at her and chuckled almost cheerfully, if a bit darkly.

“Not really, no.”

“Are you going to pay for my friend’s door?” Shadow gave a small smirk. Amused that even in a situation where she was more or less a hostage the Rabbit could still ask that.

“Sure. Ready to go?”

“Not re-”

-------------------------

Outside the apartment building a two tailed Fox walked along the pavement, glancing up at the sky as it slowly darkened. Hmm… looks like its gonna rain pretty bad soon.

Tails looked to the apartment sign quickly to check it was the right one and quickly decided to go inside.

He sighed. “I hope Cream came back here.” The fox’s heart was heavy with guilt, he had left the doe in his car for hours and she had probably tried to come back. He hoped she wasn’t harmed on the way. Beneath the sparkling image Station Square was dangerous, especially since Sonic didn’t usually fight crime at night.

Looking up as something caught his eye he noticed one of the apartments windows glowed an eerie green colour, when it faded Tails felt even more worried. The apartment clearly had a balcony, a balcony full of bright red roses.
“Cream?” He broke into a run. When he arrived at Amy’s apartment, all he found was a door that had been subjected to overkill. She hadn’t even taken her shoes.

--------------------

Cream screamed and jumped back from the edge. They were on top of the Trans Mobius bank, one of the tallest structures in Station square. Although she had no idea of this, all she knew was she felt dizzy, cold and could hardly stand. They had arrived standing on the edge. The very edge. No railing, no fence. If she moved a foot forward it was nothing but 800 metres of air and a pavement. Cream was about to fall forward when an arm caught her, holding her against the bitter strong wind that drowned out her screams.

Her heart raced and she closed her eyes, hugging herself to the only support she knew was there. A certain red and black Hedgehog who hadn’t anticipated her reaction. He hadn’t known she would be so terrified of the height, and in one of his rare moments, felt guilt. It only increased when he felt the dampness of her tears press against his chest fur and the shivering from a combination of terror and the cold of being so high up. Shadow wrapped his cloak around her and brought her away from the edge.

Cream felt the warmth of Shadow’s body being pressed to her and was comforted as he wrapped around her and lifted her, she was so close she could even feel the Hedgehog‘s heartbeat. She had no idea why he had chosen to bring her to this spot but now the Rabbit almost felt glad. Instead of the dizzy feeling she had felt from the height she now felt… bubbly inside. She could feel her cheeks heat up even.

“You can open your eyes now.” Cream didn’t want to, but she found herself trusting him not to scare her again. She obeyed him and found herself in a dull grey corridor, next to what she presumed was the roof access door. Shadow was looking down at her with thinly masked concern.
“Are you ok?” Cream realised she was still pressed up against him, but despite enjoying being warmed by both his body and his cloak she was too embarrassed to remain against him. She backed away blushing and the blushing Rabbit was sure she saw the faintest hint of pink on his muzzle too.

“I apologise, I only meant to bring you up here for directions to your Mother’s residence.”

“A-Actually I, I live there too, I’m just looking after the apartment for a friend. And its ok.” Despite her words it was easy to see Cream’s figure was shaking, as well as her voice.

“My Mom and I live in Mystic Ruins. Do you know it?” Shadow shook his head to the negative, suspecting she already knew he couldn’t teleport to places he hadn’t been or known. “Well we’ll just have to go get the train then I guess.” She said nervously, wondering what the people she was usually friendly with would think of her new friend, let alone her mother!

“I’m sure I can locate us a simple train station.” He said to her, before walking outside the access door. She called after him.

“You can’t really expect to find the station from this height!” She paused, remembering the unlikely things he had so far accomplished, even though Cream had seen Chaos Control before she had never seen it so well executed. And besides, she hadn’t yet figured out how he had tracked her from his apartment.

Cream tried opening the door again only to find it instantly got slammed open by the wind and her own strength unable to close it. Despite the wind rushing in and threatening to knock her down Cream still wanted to see what Shadow was doing. Poking her head out of the doorway into the cold and wind she watched in awe as Shadow walk across the roof with ease. How does he do that? The winds way too strong! She could easily see that everything on the roof was bolted down more than would be necessary to just keep it from falling in normal conditions, it was like a tornado out there.

Shadow was perched at the edge of the building looking down, his eyes concentrating on things far below. He’s incredible.. He must be amazingly strong. Cream found herself thinking.

Shadow turned to her and she saw him in his full majesty. If Professor Gerald had ever wanted more proof his creation was the Ultimate Life form, he would have simply needed a photo. Shadow’s laser glare cut through the wind and beginning rain to her, she felt he could see inside her, through her. A solid immovable creature in the midst of a wind so powerful it appeared alive. He didn’t move even as his clothes were battered, determination poured off of him, he was the picture of strength.

“How… how did you do that? It was like a hurricane out there!”
“As if some wind could stop me.” Cream was too taken from the site to reply to his seemingly well placed arrogance.

----------------------------

Far above the city of Station Square a man chuckled to himself. Inside his massive air cruiser he would have been an easy target if not for its more than impressive cloaking shield. Yes, the Doctor had finally learnt something. Sometimes, subtlety was best. Had it not been cloaked however, a person would see a 300 foot monster, built to improve on his Egg Carrier, it was named the Egg Wraith.

Despite its most impressive battle systems, this one had not been designed for battle. It was for sneaking around in.

“Lets see if I can’t find Sonic’s little Rabbit friend before GUN does.”

On the press of a button a small door opened in the sky, and a hundred robotic eyes flew out.

----------------------------

“Can I have two tickets to Mystic Ruins please Miss?” Cream asked the woman selling them with a nervous voice. Shadow had (surprisingly) been kind enough to give her the money for them, mumbling something about chivalry, but she insisted on paying for them. She could still see the gothic looking Hedgehog leaning against a wall waiting, and he wasn’t being discreet. He had brought his cloak along, apparently in case an old enemy should be around, and the matt black in the middle of the vibrant station stuck out like a sore thumb.

She brought the tickets over and tried to act normal in front of the dozen or so people staring at them. A cute young Rabbit girl and what looked like a satanic cult leader drew attention even if they were alone. With the two together there had been large fires with less people watching.

“I hope your not going to be this scary with my mother.” Instead of an answer she only got a look from within the hood. The knife like eyes locked with hers again, and for a brief second she relived the scene on the skyscraper.

“I shall act however I like.” He told her. Within a small amount of time the train managed to wonder into the station and stop, Shadow looking at the old machine in annoyance. Time was of the essence and he really didn’t feel like waiting all this time simply to get the jewel. Although, if anyone attacked they’d still be going after Cream, he hadn’t even heard about her mother so he doubted anyone else would think of her. He would just have to be patient.

What the hell are you doing? The inner voice asked suddenly, sounding angry. You jog faster than this thing, just grab Cream and run.

“I would wonder why you’re so eager for me to get this jewel.” Cream saw him talk to himself and wondered if he was just speaking out loud.

Its of your own benefit too you know.

My own benefit too? So logically you must gain something from this. The Hedgehog switched to thoughts instead, trying to avoid scaring the Rabbit for reasons he wasn’t sure about.

I don’t gain anything, yet. Somehow he knew the voice had gone, and he ignored the Rabbit staring at him and decided to follow the voices advice.

“Cream, we have no time to stay here, we must get to your mothers as quickly as possible.”

“How? The train’s in the way.?”

“How many times? I am the Ultimate Life form, nothing stands I my way!” Shadow smirked before walking to the train. She had no idea what he was trying to accomplish, Sonic occasionally ran along the track- sometimes with Tails too, but the train was completely blocking the station. They wouldn’t be able to go along it until it moved off and then they’d have to go behind it anyway.

Shadow brought his hand back and sent it into the train with tremendous force. The rest of the metal creaked and the shockwave was transmitted throughout the vehicle. People stopped and stared. No one shouted or screamed, Shadow had done it with such authority that it didn’t seem right. People ran out of the train as fast as they could and then turned tail and stood to watch.

Hmph, Humans really are like Sheep. Shadow thought as he saw them.

Cream was amazed, only Knuckles could have done the same, and even then he would never have used such… assertiveness. He just goes around doing whatever he likes, doesn’t he think anyone can stop him?

What the powerful Hedgehog did next made the entire station erupt in shouts and screams. With one hand he seemed to fire several dozen bolts of lighting, each one hitting a wheel and tearing the brakes. Using only the other hand and with an audible grunt he swept the entire train to the right. The huge machine screeched on the rail until it slammed into the breakers at the end of the tracks and the old train crumpled as weak metal gave way. People were pouring from the station whilst others were shouting for people to call GUN as he stepped away from it and viewed the new space. He could easily run the track now.

The Rabbit was amazed at his feat of strength, knowing only one other Mobian who could do such a thing. He’s stronger than Mr Sonic, maybe even as strong as Mr Knuckles, and just as fast as either of them. What is he??

“We are leaving.” Shadow didn’t even turn around, he just stood and waited. Cream opened her mouth to say something, to object to his destruction and maybe find some set of morals underneath his cold exterior. But one look at his eyes squashed all the ideas, maybe he wasn‘t a bad person, maybe he was. But she knew, somehow, what his attitude to it the idea of good or bad would be.

“I have no time for the petty morality of mortals.” He announced quietly, sending a shiver down her back as he apparently read her mind. Cream walked to him, despite knowing she shouldn’t stay with the Hedgehog, and he lifted her up easily.

He knows where my Mother is now, he knows she has what he wants. Why does he keep me? Why does he comfort me when I’m scared and then wreak havoc? Cream didn’t understand her new “friend” but something told her she had to stay with him.

For his sake as well as her own.

Done, and I hope I get some reviews soon. Don’t get very many for this story me thinks, I wonder why. I guess not a lot of people like Shream ^^;
