Amy Rose watched as her true blue hero buzz sawed through another one of Eggman's robots like a hot knife through butter. Sonic then bounced off the wall, and made another round trip through the bot's core, shorting it out, causing it to fall and explode. While Amy watched Sonic playing the hero, she let out a content sigh, her eyes filled with hearts.

Her heart fluttered whenever Sonic came into view, or when he was close to her. But every time she came running, he always seemed to run the other way. It made her sad very often, but still, she had hope that someday, he'd notice her. “Oh Sonic…” She sighed.

The reason she had hope, was that he was nice to her when she acted normal, and not like a crazy fan girl. Plus, whenever she was in trouble, he would get upset and come and save her. “I know he likes me…” She said sadly. “I just wish he'd act like it, and see that I'm not that bad to be around. I wish I didn't go crazy, but I just seem to go weak willed whenever I see him.”

“Just once I'd like to have him put his arms around me, and tell me that he cares for me…” She told herself. Each night, visions of Sonic kissing her filled her mind, but right before it actually happened, she would always awaken. “Who am I kidding; he probably doesn't want some damsel in distress, fawning over him constantly. I CAN hold my own in a fight, but I'm nothing like Sonic…and I usually end up getting in trouble…” She sighed for the umpteenth time, a tear trickling down her cheek. “I'm so pathetic…”

Meanwhile, Sonic was standing on top of the wreckage of the robot he had just beaten, when he noticed Amy watching him. Immediately he began to feel funny inside. “There she is again, always watching my fights, always declaring her love for me… How is that SHE is the only one who can make me lose my cool? Why does she make run for the hills, anyway? She's just a pretty girl.” He stopped after realizing what he just said. “Did I just say pretty!?” He shook his head for a moment before staring back at Amy. “Well, she's so cute… Those sparkling eyes, pouting lips…” He started to go into a daze.

 

Convincing eyes, persuasive lips

Sonic shook himself again. “GAH! Why do I keep torturing myself like this? Every time I think of Amy, I always imagine her, wrapping those silky arms around me and kissing me all over… No girl has ever been so forward like that… That's why I run away, because I just get this complete declaration of true love…that I panic.”

“If only she knew what she did to me every time…” Sonic said to himself. He looked again at Amy Rose, who seemed to have a sad expression. “Probably all my running makes her feel unloved, but I can't help but panic…” He continued watching her, feeling his feelings grow stronger.

Sonic remembered all the times he shared with Amy…how they could've been better if her hadn't gone of running the other way. She was the only girl that could make him feel weak.

Sonic couldn't take it anymore. “No more of this.” He said. “I'm gonna go right over there, and tell her how I REALLY feel about her…” He zipped off, in his usual super speed fashion.

 

Amy watched Sonic disappear and sighed once more. “Well, I guess I better go now…”

 

“What's your hurry?”

 

Amy whirled around behind her, to come face to face with Sonic. “S-Sonic!?”

 

“In the flesh.” Sonic said with a smile. `I'm not gonna run or push away this time…' He told himself.

 

Amy was trying to suppress her usual, “fan girl” persona. “Sonic…I…”

 

“Amy…” Sonic began. “There's something I need to say…or do…” He suddenly leaned towards her face.

 

Before Amy could ask what he was doing, she suddenly had Sonic's lips, pressed against her own…in a kiss!

Amy felt her heart accelerate and fireworks go off in her head. When Sonic pulled away, she was red all over. “Sonic…”

 

“Amy… You might have thought that I didn't care, because I ran away so much…” Sonic began. “But the truth is… Amy, I do care, and I love you, Amy Rose.”

 

Amy's eyes filled with tears of joy. “Sonic… You don't know how happy this makes me…” She fired out and hugged Sonic tightly, crying with joy.

Sonic hugged Amy back. “What can I say? I get weak around you.” He laughed.

 

“Me too Sonic… Me too.” She laughed. “I love you too…”

 

The two of them kissed one more time, both lost in their love and emotion.
