Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Savior From Guilt ❯ Saivor From Guilt ( Chapter 1 )
"Knuckles . . . please come on Knux."
Sonic was almost in tears from the look of despair on his loves face. He moved around so that he was sitting in front of Knuckles. He grabbed his hand, wincing as he noticed how cold they were.
"Come on Babe, it's not your fault." Knuckles merely acted as though he hadn't heard and continued letting the tears fall. Sonic sighed in frustration. He leaned forward and embraced his distraught lover.
Suddenly Knuckles began to sob. He clung to Sonic as though he were a lifeline. Sonic ribbed his back. At least now he was getting a reaction.
"Shhh babe, shhhhh . . . ." Knuckles still sobbed on to Sonic's shoulder. Sonic was far from caring. He focus was to calm down his red furred Echidna. He stopped sobbing but started shivering feverishly.
"B-but it's . . . it's gone, Sonic it's my f-fault." The tears ran freer, making rivets down his cheeks. Sonic sighed, fighting tears. He had to be strong for Knuckles.
"It's not your fault Knuckles, its not-" Knuckles suddenly pulled away from him. He had cold fury in his eyes.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT. It was me sonic. Me. I lost the Gem. I lost the battle. I lost them. I …I lost myself." Sonic couldn't stand it anymore. He stood up tears running down his own face now.
"STOP IT KNUCKLES. Wallowing in self-pity wont help. You know that babe." Knuckles looked up at Sonic with tears in his eyes.
"But-" Sonic kneeled next to the Guardian, pulling him into another, stronger, embrace.
"But nothin' Red. It wasn't your fault. We all make mistakes. We aren't perfect. We all lose at least once." Knuckles thought about this. It was true. `We all lose at least once.' Knuckles smiled into Sonic's shoulder then circled his arms around Sonic's back.
"T-thank you Blue." Sonic laughed.
"No problem love." Knuckles chuckled. His hedgehog always knew what to say.
"Come on Knux, we should get somthin' to eat." Knuckles laughed out loud this time.
"Alright, what do you want-"
"CHILLI-DOGS" Knuckles wiped his eyes on his gloved hand, mindful of the spikes, as his blue furred loved pulled his toward the diner and away from his misery.
