Selfless Charity

As Sting walked up to his hideout, a gray fox watched him from his hiding place behind a pillar. The fox, Raian, was shocked to hear the vampire bat gloating over his latest prize.
“Ah, yes. Sleep, Rouge. You'll need the rest for what's to come.” Raian got a better look at the bat girl as Sting walked closer to his hiding place. She was apparently unconscious, and her side was bleeding from a gunshot wound that was undoubtedly made by Sting.
Holy shit!” Raian thought,“I knew Sting liked to go overkill, but this is ridiculous! That poor girl could bleed to death!” As soon as Sting had passed his hiding place, Raian moved from cover to cover, following Sting inside. The main hall of Sting's hideout was a very easy place for Raian to hide in, because it was a similar color to his fur. However, Sting noticed slight discrepancies whenever the fox made any movements. At one point, Raian was almost discovered by the vampire bat, when Filch, the blind rat who was one of Sting's servants, distracted him.
“Here's the report you wanted, sir.” The rat handed Sting a thin folder of papers. Sting began to converse with the rat, which gave Raian a chance to sneak into the room where Rouge was lying, still unconscious.
Before Raian could assess Rouge's injuries, he heard footsteps outside. It was Sting. Raian hid in a dark corner of the room, his back pressed against the wall which gave him the best view of the goings-on. Just as Raian had hidden, Sting entered the room, waiting patiently for his victim to awaken.
That happened all too soon. As soon as Rouge regained consciousness, Sting was upon her. Raian averted his eyes; he couldn't bear to see Sting torture another poor soul, just as he had done to Jade.
Just as quickly as it had begun, Sting's onslaught of rape had ceased. As he chuckled to himself in satisfaction, the vampire bat left the room for reasons Raian did not want to know. Once the fox was sure that Sting was gone, Raian went over to where Rouge lay. “What happened?” he asked.
The bat girl glared at him, not in anger, but in disgust. “What the hell do you think happened?” she retorted.
Raian nodded understandingly. “Ah, I see. I know how you feel.” He then began to reminisce about Jade, and how Sting used her as a ploy to get Raian to work for him, and that horrible day when the one he loved died in his arms. He then thought of that fateful day when he betrayed Sting, and started working to undo the atrocities that Sting had made him do. He was brought back to the present when Rouge made another snide comment.
“Oh, does that mean he raped you and shot you?”
“I had to WORK for the bastard! Now that was torture. Anyway, I'm here to help you.” Raian then took out a small first aid kit, and began to bandage Rouge's gunshot wound. He was no more than halfway finished when Sting once again entered the room.
Sting walked in to see Raian assisting Rouge. "Raian," he questioned, "you're not still angry about what happened with that other fox?"
Raian fisted his hands, tail flicking in anger. "Yes," he hissed. "And her name is Jade!"
Sting's lip curled as he turned his attention to Rouge. "Was Jade, fool-fox. Was."
Now, Raian was furious. "You are such a heartless ass! You think with your genitals instead of your brain, you sick pervert!" He began to tighten the grip on his cane, anticipating Sting's reaction.
A bead of sweat slipped down Rouge's forehead as she started shifting her body, trying to get away, praying that Raian was creating enough of a distraction for her. She froze, though, when she saw Sting looking at her. Her heart started beating faster, her mind was being taken over, until Raian stepped in Sting's path.
Sting sneered at him, annoyed at not being able to control the fox. “Move,” he demanded, his voice a threatening whisper.
“No way. Let the bat go free.”
“I'll let her go the same way I let Jade go!” he announced. “Sever!” he shouted. When the silver wolf, golden eyes shimmering with malice, stepped in, Sting waved a hand at Raian. “Take this traitor away. Far away.”
A brutal melee ensued. Sever tried desperately to find an opening in Raian's defense, but the fox was too fast. Despite his limited vision, he was able to block or dodge most of the attacks, but one quick blow to the head was enough to knock Raian unconscious.
After the fight, Sever went into a room where Sting was putting Rouge into a machine that would pull her wings off, slowly and methodically. Sever told his master that the traitor fox had been “taken care of.”
In actuality, Raian had only been knocked out for a few moments. He ran out of Sting's hideout, and waited to make his next move. His first priority was to treat his injuries. Once that was done, he rushed as far from Sting's hideout as he could. Lying low, he waited for someone to arrive. Raian made a small, inconspicuous camp for shelter while he watched the road.
After about a week, he saw a black hedgehog being chased by Sting. Raian immediately ran up behind the vampire bat, knocking him out with one swipe of his cane. Shadow turned around, but he only got a quick glimpse of the grey fox before he was gone.
