Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Tails 15th ❯ Chapter 1

WARNING! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ SONIC 15thCHAPTERS 1-4, THIS WON'T MAKE ANY SENSE! PLEASE READ THOSE CHAPTERS FIRST!

 

The golden rays of a new day softly touched the fur of an equally golden two tailed fox boy, comfortably asleep in bed in his workshop in the Mystic Ruins. The occasional receding and inflating of his furry fox chest is the only thing that doesn't look serene about this picture. The birds are chirping from outside of his workshop window. He's nestled between his soft, furry tails and the blankets. Nothing can go wrong. Until, that is, he gets a disturbing distress call on his pager. Naturally, he thought it was his alarm clock, and let out a loud, discomforted groan. He flopped over and reached for the “alarm clock”. It turns out that the alarm was his communicator, with an urgent call from Sonic on the line. Hesitantly and sounding groggy, he opened the communicator and pressed the “talk” button. “Hello?” His eyes were half closed, and his tone of voice clearly not too happy.

 

“Tails? Tails, you there?!” A rushed, hurried and familiar voice called to him through the communicator.

 

“Sonic, what is it? I was having a really nice dream…” Tails said instinctively, trying to get the panicked yet cerulean blue hedgehog on the other end to calm down a little bit.

 

“Tails… I slept with Elise last night, and…”

 

“So what, Sonic? I should have seen that coming… you two were so love-struck it was bound to happen some day!” Tails remarked cunningly, beginning to wake up.

 

“Not funny Tails! This is serious!” The hedgehog began to get flustered again, starting to almost have a panic attack.

 

“Ok, ok! Sonic, I'm listening. Now, what happened to Elise?” Tails asked reassuringly, trying to calm Sonic down again. As soon as Sonic started to take deep breaths, he regained his cool attitude and started to talk at Tails about the night he had with the princess - every detail about the experience Sonic and the princess had during the previous night, most of which Tails didn't understand. Once he finished the story, Tails was left speechless and horribly confused, his only response to Sonic being, “Hey, Sonic… could you repeat that last part again?”

 

“UGH! Tails you weren't listening to a word I was saying!” Sonic snapped.

 

“Actually Sonic, I think I was listening to TOO MANY of your words. Now… WHAT HAPPENED TO HER!?” Tails snapped back, getting irritated at Sonic's attitude. Hearing the scolding, Sonic started to sag his head slightly, water forming on the ridges of his eyes as if he was about to cry.

 

“Tails… Elise is gone… I don't know how, but she wasn't there when I woke up this morning. I searched every inch of the palace and still couldn't find her…” Tails began to slowly shush the hedgehog before he got out of control again. After thinking about the situation, he started to propose a theory to Sonic.

 

“Sonic… Do you remember that giant lava monster we fought yesterday?”

 

“Yeah…what about it Tails?”

 

“Think about it this way, Sonic… That monster went after Elise, and once we destroyed it, Elise showed us that creepy room, right?

 

“Yeah…” Sonic responded, getting more hopelessly lost as Tails continued to speak.

 

“Sonic, if Elise has that secret she shared with us, I can give you one guess as to who ELSE would want to get a hold of that secret.” As Tails finished speaking those words, it's as if Sonic's face was suddenly covered in some sort of glaze. His pupils turned white and his teeth started to grit with anger. He looked up at Tails, and, at the same time, they both muttered the name “Eggman”.

 

“Of course, that has to be it! Eggman must've gotten a hold of her so he could use the Flames of Disaster!” Sonic exclaimed, as if he had come up with the theory all on his own.

 

“Bingo,” Tails stated. “Sonic, we need to get Elise back before Eggman makes her transform into that…cat form she said she would transform into!

 

“In other words, we need to stop Eggman like old times!” Sonic exclaimed from the other end of the communicator, coming up with an idea. “Tails, you look around Wave Ocean to see if there's anything suspicious going on there. I'll take a look around the Kingdom Valley. Report in if you see any signs of Eggman OR, for that matter, Elise. Got it?”

 

“You got it, Sonic! Over and out!” As Tails hung up the communicator, he snapped it onto his wrist like any wristwatch, and immediately dashed for the train station. His destination: Station Square, home to Wave Ocean.
