Ch 8: A Legend is Born

Note: This chapter takes place nine months after Chapter 7.

Sonic was cooking Amy some lunch, as of late Sonic had been doing the chores with Amy being 8 1/2 months pregnant, her delivery could be any day or moment at that time. Sonic did the job with no grumbling or complaining.

"Its hard to believe that its been almost a year since we got married...you know, Amy?" Sonic commented, seeing Amy's face brighten up when she saw him.

"I know, I just know that this baby hedgehog is going to be something special...I can feel it in my heart and in my soul, this isn't going to be just any baby hedgehog..." Amy said, unaware that she spoke prophetic words.

"Whatever you say, Amy, whatever you say!" Sonic said playfully as he started vacumming the house up, cleaning up the house was no easy chore...for many people, but for Sonic it was a breeze.

Three hours later, Sonic heard a low groaning noise from the kitchen; thinking it to be his mind messing with him, Sonic went back to finishing up the cleaning process: cleaning dishes. Soon, however, the same groan came back, this time it sounded more from in the bedroom. Curious, Sonic ran upstairs to inspect the source: and saw Amy groaning and her face extremely flustered.

"Amy, whats wrong?! Are you ok?!" Sonic asked, extremely concerned since he had never seen Amy in the kind of pain she was in at that moment in time.

"Sonic...I think...I'm about to...de...deliver!!" Amy said through labored breathing, her body racking with pain from the inside as Sonic carefully picked her up and dashed over to the hospital to get a team of doctors on her.

'Hang in there, Amy! We're almost there!!' Sonic said comfortingly to Amy, trying to get her as calm as possible. Sonic kicked the hospital door open and demanded a bunch of doctors to handle the situation with Amy.

"Right away!" The nurse behind the front desk replied, calling over the intercom for any available doctors and nurses to help with Sonic's situation.

"WOULD YOU PLEASE HURRY UP AND GET THE FUCKING ASSHOLES DOWN HERE?! FOR CHRISTS SAKE, CAN'T YOU BITCHES DO ANYTHING RIGHT!?!?!?!" Amy screamed, her hormones kicking in at a maximum pace, which made Sonic chuckle a little inside, but not much.

Soon, Amy was carefvully loaded onto a table, with Sonic right next to her offering her words of encouragement.

"Hang in there, Amy! They're almost ready!" Sonic said to Amy, getting a death glare and then Amy'shead jerked back again. 'Damn, I'm glad I'm not a woman!' Sonic said to himself as he entered a room where a bunch of other doctors and burses were waiting.

"Alright, shes entering extreme labor! We need some sheets and a blanket!" One of the doctors shouted out, getting some in a hurry.

"Ok, Mrs. Rose, I ant you to breath in and out and push as hard as you can with each exhale, alright?" A nurse asked Amy, getting a batch of cursewords slung at her in appreciation.

"GET THE DAMN CHILD OUT OF ME!!!! WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!" Amy screamed as she groaned some more, the pain must've been excruciating for Amy, since she had never delivered before.

"Alright, its almost out! One more push!! Ready?! PUSH!!!!!!!!!!!" All the doctors yelled at once as Amy sat up and pushed harder then she had ever pushed in her life. The baby hedgehog came out with no problem as a couple of nurses took care of the umbilical cord, while another nurse wrapped the baby boy hedgehog in a blanket.

"He's adorable!!" Sonic said with tears in his eyes as he looked at his new baby boy hedgehog.

"Congratulations, Amy, you did a very good job, I'm so happy that he's out!" One of the nurses complimented to Amy, getting a tear-soaked smile from Amy as Sonic and her just stared at the baby in their arms, loving every single suqare inch of it.

"Now that he's born, what are you going to name him?" The same nurse asked, getting a baffled look from Sonic.

"Michael..." Amy said right away, a smile on hr face removed all doubt that she wasn't certain. "He will be called Michael." Amy said lovingly as, almost like it was already known to the baby itself, the baby opened its eyes for the first time, staring into Sonic and Amy's eyes as a new life started, and a legend had been born...
