Inside a womb-like chamber, a nude hedgehog thrashes in glowing red fluid. He feels thick black cables attached to his stomach and face like plugs. One of his hands poushes against the jellacious wall stretching it like a balloon. He breaks through and picks up. It's manic! He yanks a mask away from his mouth. And a long tube dislouging from deep in his throat. Gasping for air, he glances down at cables plugged into his arms and chest. Clear as fly and drips from his sagging furless body and his bald head. He feels a thick jelly-coated cable plugged into the back of his head, then looks to his left. More glowing red chambers held mobian bodies connected to a looming wall of cables and holes. The neat row receives around the bed. Manic peers over the edge of the pod-like chamber which hangs suspended like a bird's nest from a cliff. Dripping clear slime, he looks into the distance, slack-jawwed. Towers taller than skyscrapersrise into the black sky and drop away in the fog below. In neat ring shape rows, hundreds of thousands of pods has circled each towers and bolts of electricity sparks between them. A bug-like robot flies down and hovers in front of manic. It thrusts out a robotic arm and grabs him by the throat. As manic struggles against the strangle hold, a single eye extends from the robot reflecting manic's gasping face. At the bed of his head, the round plug disconnects as manic yelps in pain. Manic slumps face first into the pod fluid. The robot flies off and manic lurches as cables unplug from his body. Cables pops out his spine one by one then the pod fluid drains and manic plunges down the chute on his back. The winding tunnel ends and spits manic out. He pummels 50 ft. into a mirky sewer-like pool.

Manic: Ohhh!

Water triples down the rock wall as manic surfaces frailing his arms. High above manic, 3 spotlights swing in the darkness. Then, a square hatch opens letting in a blinding white light. Manic drops underwater as a metal claw descends on a cable. It splashes down then rises with manic lying limp in his clutch with his arms out stretched. The hatch closes after him.

Inside a room with rusty middle walls, the six cables winds around two wind drums. Two furries wrap a blanket around manic. Coated with clear slime, manic shivers. Then shadow approaches.

Shadow: Welcome to the real world.

(Darkness)

Later, manic lies on a girdy.

Shadow: We've done it, bunnie. We found him.

Bunnie: Ah hope you're right.

Shadow: I don't have to hope. I know it.

Bunnie gazes down at manic.

Manic: Am I dead?

Shadow: Far from it.

(Monitor Beeps)

Later, monitors track manic's vital signs. Hundreds of long wirey needles covered his pale body like a porcupine coat. Shadow starts watch with cyrus.

Cyrus: He still needs a lot of work.

Manic: What are you doing?

Shadow: Your muscles have Atrophied. We're rebuilding them.

Manic: Why do my eyes hurt?

Shadow: You've never used them before. (looks at cyrus)

Cyrus: (looks at shadow)

Shadow: (looks at manic, touches his head) Rest, manic. The answers are coming.

Later, in the dark lab, shadow adjust the wire and manic's body jerks with a spasm. At the base of the fine needles, quarter sized bumps dimpled his mood skin. Now, shadow works on both shaped sockets and bedded like snaps onto the length of manic's bare back. Later as shadow circles him, manic lies draped in a long cloth with only a few needles in his arms.
