- The scene: inside a small room in a G.U.N. prison. This room is where prisoner executions are performed. Sonic and Amy are escorted into the room and chained with their hands above their heads, and the two are left facing each other. The guards leave and secure the door behind them. -

 

Amy: Sonic?

 

Sonic: What?

 

Amy: You scared?

 

Sonic: Well, yes. I am scared.

 

Amy: Me too.

 

Sonic: But why? You weren't the one who accidentally murdered a man.

 

Amy: But I'm about to die too.

 

Sonic: I know that. What I don't know is why G.U.N. is still giving you the same sentence as me, when you didn't have a hand in the “crime”.

 

Amy: Sonic, I'm the one who goaded you on in the first place. If it hadn't been for me, that guy would still be alive.

 

Sonic: But you didn't know what would come out of it.

 

Amy: (sighs) I guess you're right.

 

Sonic: I'll never forgive myself though.

 

Amy: Why is that?

 

Sonic: Well, you may recall that we were led to different cells, so you probably don't know about this yet.

 

Amy: Go ahead.

 

Sonic: As the guards were bringing me to my cell yesterday, they kept telling me about murder and how God judges it. They said that murder can never be forgiven, as it is a violation of the Fifth Commandment.

 

Amy: Wait a minute. That doesn't sound right.

 

Sonic: What do you mean?

 

Amy: I've been taught that there are certain criteria that must be met for a sin to be called as such. First, it has to be a serious matter. Second, you have to know it is a sin.

 

Sonic: So far, those two have been met…

 

Amy: And third, it has to be premeditated. But since you didn't mean to kill that guy, it can't be considered a sin. Not to mention that any murderer can ask God for forgiveness and be granted it. I think those guards were exaggerating the crisis too much.

 

Sonic: …

 

Amy: What's wrong?

 

Sonic: I still wish he were alive. I've been known to save humans, but now that I've accidentally killed one…

 

Amy: Don't worry Sonic. I just know everyone else will understand you didn't mean it.

 

Sonic: I hope you're right.

 

- There is a pause in the conversation. Several minutes later, Amy's eyes start to tear. -

 

Sonic: Amy? Are you crying?

 

Amy: (hesitating) N-No.

 

Sonic: Oh.

 

Amy: (sobs slightly) Stupid G.U.N. association! Why couldn't they have at least given us a fair trial?

 

Sonic: Hmm. That's something I wonder myself, now that I've completely analyzed our situation.

 

Amy: I know I was indirectly the cause of this, but why won't they understand what I really was doing?

 

Sonic: You mean how you goaded me?

 

Amy: (crying) Sonic, I'm so sorry. It's my fault. We're gonna die, and it's all my fault!

 

Sonic: Amy, whatever happened to what you just said to me? You can't be held liable either!

 

Amy: I hate the country's government. They keep searching for scapegoats for every minor action, and they always try to maintain control over the citizens, including setting false examples.

 

Sonic: I have to agree. It's too obvious to miss…

 

Amy: But why us? Why Sonic the Hedgehog, the true blue hero of Earth?

 

Sonic: And why Amy Rose, Sonic's loving girlfriend?

 

Amy: You've never referred to me like that before.

 

Sonic: Because I've never had the guts to. But now…

 

- Sonic pauses for a second, and Amy fixes her eyes on Sonic's. -

 

Sonic: Amy, forget the bad things I've done to you in the past. Forget all the times I ran away or treated you like extra baggage. You never deserved to be treated like that. You've always had good intentions. I understood that, but I don't know why I didn't accept it. Every time I was captured, you came to set me free. Every time I felt down, you lifted my spirits up again. All of that mattered to me, even though I didn't show it in front of you.

 

Amy: Sonic, ever since you first saved me from Metal Sonic, I knew you were more than just an ordinary hedgehog. I knew right away that you were a caring individual. When I told you I was an orphan, you decided to protect me. You decided to be my friend. You were the first one I ever had, and that's why I've loved you so much over the years.

 

Sonic: Forgive me Amy. I'm sorry I hurt you. I now realize how much I care about you, as you do to me.

 

Amy: Sonic…

 

Sonic: Amy, I love you.

 

- Sonic and Amy step closer, and soon the two begin to kiss. They stay like that for a while, until a voice is heard over the intercom. -

 

Intercom: Attention, Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose. You execution via toxic gas will commence in 10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2...1...
