There, now that I've gotten through my little history lesson, let the fic commence!! Mikey B23 out!!!!!!!!!!!..........................

As Shadow, Sonic and Michael lay on the war-torn battlefield outside Motople, a light breeze was blowing, bringing a peaceful calm after the vicious storm that had ensued just hours before. The thbree figures hadn't moved in almost two hours, but one was about to do so...

"...Uhhhhhhh...oh........h-h...huh?? Where....where am I?" Shadow asked himself as he slowly opened his eyes to a blue sky, the peacefulness of his environment could only mean one thing. "He's dead...Blade is finally dead..." Shadow said as he breathed a sigh of relief for the first time since the battle began.

Shadow began to look at his fallen comrades: Sonie, Knuckles and Tails...All three of them fought a valient battle, but they didn't survive the onslaught which was Blade.

'I still can't believe they're gone...I feel so empty! Yet, I also feel...complete...as if the fighting is finally over...at least, that is what I hope is true...' Shadow contemplated in his mind, unaware that two close friends of his were starting to stir somewhat nearby.

"S...S..........Shadow?? You're...alive?!" Sonic commented, rather surprised that anyone survived the brutal conflict. "Michael too?!!" Sonic shouted, embracing the two in a tight bear hug.

"Dad...Shadow...does this mean that its over? I mean, we've done all this fighting, but why do I feel like its not done...??" Michael asked to himself as the three of them walked away from the battle scene, tired, bloodied and exhausted from the brutal fighting which had occured just hours prior.

Sonic knelt down next to the body of his fallen comrades, weeping bitterly as he saw Sonie and Tails almost next to each other, the two of them so peaceful, and so young, only to have life ripped out of them in such a short time.

'Tails...for the first time since I met you, I feel that you prooved yourself able to fight without my help...I want you to know how proud I am of you, buddy...I will miss you deeply...' Sonic said as some tears fell down hiface onto Tails, his life-long buddy of many years.

"C'mon, Sonic, lets go home...We'll find a proper place to bury them..." Shadow said to Sonic, helping Sonic to his feet and walking towards Motople, to reunite with Amy, Tikal, Gina and Flash to, hopefully, start over and rebuild their lives.

As the trio were headed towards Motople, three mysterious figures fired a single shot at each of them, barely flinching them, but enough to cause a little sting. When the three were out of sight, the three humans picked up the darts and teleported somewhere, their true motives unknown to the world.
