Settling back into research mode they worked to uncovered more of Onion's doing, this time it was Eclair that made the startling connection.
They had knew Onion would be a lot harder to break, so they decided to go after his agents, figuring that Rufus Taggert would be a key figure in Onion's plan. So Stella ordered a 24-hour surveillance on the man.
It was only through the tapes that they were able to begin connecting the people together with Onion. They caught on tape, Taggert casually dining with man at a restaurant. Their agent was too far away to hear what was said, however, he was smart enough to set up two cameras, one facing each man. Fortunately, Eclair and expert in several different languages and lip reading clued them in to what was being said.
Eclair, the first casualty of their war against Onion. She had gotten careless and had paid the price, her legs broken and nightmares of what the men intended to do to her. She had no doubt as to the outcome had not Tira and Gateau found her, well remembering the dark lust in the men's eyes.
She raised troubled eyes, "Mama, he's from Corsa," she said naming a country that was on CC list of countries forbidden to do business with.
Eclair had become the first casualty in their ward with Onion. She had gotten careless and had paid the price. She had managed to fight off her attackers but not before they managed to break her leg and dislocate her shoulder. It could have been far worse if Gateau and Marron hadn't found her in time, remembering with a shiver of horror the dark look in the men's eyes and what they had planned to her. Sometimes waking in the middle of the night, feeling their hands on her body. At times like that she would get up, go to Carrot and Marron's room, knocking lightly on the door waking them, waking Carrot. And he always was there for her, leaving it up to her to tell Gateau exactly why she was so leery of him touching her.
"Son of a bitch," Gateau whispered knowing Mama was going to go ballistic. Corsa cruelty to it's people and government policies were one of the main reasons why it was on many companies banned lists.
She surprised him, however, by her cold reaction. But she didn't get where she was by flying off the handle at every little disappointing news she received, something he should have remembered. She merely ordered them to dig deeper and swept out of the room.

Marron and Carrot came storming back into the house arguing furiously, or at least Carrot was arguing furiously with an outwardly composed Marron, drawing the family to the disturbance. Carrot's face set in an unusual expression of fury as he yelled at Marron.
"What is all this yelling about," Stella wondered, asking the question everyone else was dying to ask. It was highly unusual to see Carrot so worked up, sure the two would argue but it was really nothing very serious.
"Tell them, Mr.-You-Hurt-My-Brother-Now-You-Must-Die!" Carrot said sarcastically, making a shooing motion, "Go on tell them, Mr. I'm-Fucking-Insane."
Marron looked at him dryly, "I think you already did."
"Oh no, you tell them what you did, right now," Carrot insisted, steaming about how Marron had totally embarrassed him at the mall, just when he was about to get that pretty girl's digits, he shuddered at the horrified look on the girl's face before she ran away.
Marron warily eyed the fuming Carrot and opened his mouth to explain what had happen.
"Do you know how he totally embarrassed me at the mall," Carrot screeched before he could begin, turning to look at the gathering household. "So some fucking dumbass jocks was razing me, big fucking whoop! I was dealing. Did you see me freaking out, huh," he whirled to glare at the blushing Marron, who avoided his eyes. Carrot whirled around again, "But no, Mr.-I- must-Protect-My-Helpless-Brother had go medieval on the men. Beating the upside the head and shit and I had to leave this sweet little honey I was talking to to pull him off the guys." He said growing progressively louder. "I couldn't believe it, Mama, I just could NOT believe it," Carrot said, shaking his head in angry disbelief.
"Marron, sweetheart, why did you get *medieval* on those men," Stella said calmly, her lips twitching, hearing small snickering coming from behind her. She looked at the calm Marron, a slight tinge of red highlighting his cheeks.
"Go on tell her," Carrot said, crossing his arms with a huff and as Marron opened his mouth, "I'll tell you! Because one of the stupid idiots had hit me in the bathroom and because he was calling me a queer punk." He snorted angrily, "Like I give a flying fuck what that dumbass, who don't even know me, says about me."
"Marron, sweetheart is that true," Stella said, her eyes amused at the abashed look in Marron's eyes as he raised his eyes hesitantly to her and nodded, his face turning red from all the attention.
"Marron, dude, you can't go around whooping people upside the head just because they insult me or hit me," Carrot said earnestly, finally calming down. "There's gonna be a lot of people in the world that may not like me or probably want to beat the shit out of me. You can't just go around doing shit like that. I can protect myself, I'm as helpless as you and Gateau think I am, okay," he said quietly, looking up into Marron wary eyes.
He ignored the 'Hey' from Gateau, he'll deal with that lunkhead later. A wicked thought came, or better yet he'll have Tira deal with him.
"But if someone hits you--hurts you--why can't I beat them up, hurt them back," Marron whispered, hurt and confused in his eyes.
The others looked away from the intense naked emotions reflecting in Marron's eyes. They understood all too well how Marron felt, constantly restraining themselves from going overboard with Carrot, but for Marron it was worse because this was his big brother who protected him for so long.
Carrot eyed the younger boy and wearily shook his head, "Marron if you keep trying to defend me, trying to protect me, we are both gonna wind up in a world of hurt. I'm not trying to say that I don't appreciate the gesture or the thought, it's just that I can protect myself, and I don't want you to get hurt trying to protect me, okay. That's the one thing that I couldn't live with," Carrot said intensely, "If you got hurt while trying to protect me, you have no idea what I'll do. So don't, for your sake and mine, you need to turn down that protective urge you have for me." He looked sternly at Marron and getting a slow nod of acceptance, he smiled enfolding Marron tightly in his arms.
Later that night, as they climbed into bed, Carrot had to make sure that they were okay after their fight.
"We good," he asked tentatively in the darkness.
"We're good," Marron said, as always, his speech precise. He pulled Carrot into his arms and dropped a brief kiss on his niisan's lips, before turning over, pulling Carrot's arms around him.
Carrot shivered at that brief contact, feeling his lips tingling a stirring beginning in his lower body. He caught his breath at the disturbing sensation, feeling a little uncomfortable. He settled against Marron's back and restlessly drifted off to sleep.
The following days and nights began to follow a pattern for him. Looking a Marron, feeling him touch him, hearing his voice, that tiny smile that graced his face at the sight of him began doing strange things to him, wonderful tingling feelings that washed through him. He wanted to share his feelings with Marron but something held him back as he savored the delicious sensations, absently wondering why he didn't react to the others like this but shrugged it off. It wasn't until one night that he finally understood what he was feeling and what was causing the pleasurable warmth.
He was lying in bed, talking to Marron who was still undressing, his eyes idly roving of the slim, elegant figure. As Marron stood naked before the dresser grabbing a pair of pants, he was almost overwhelmed at the intense sensation roaring through his body, this time accompanied by images---Marron gasping, his eyes closed and a look of ecstasy suffusing his face, his body arching in pleasure; Marron's face above him, feeling him deep in his body, hearing Marron screaming his name.
Feeling the stirring in his cock at the images as startled dismay filled him. Oh God, he was as sick as Onion! Lusting after his own flesh and blood. He bit back a whimper of despair, coming back to himself with a start to hear Marron calling him.
"Niisan," Marron asked urgently, "What's wrong? Are you sick? Is something hurting?" Wondering at the strange look on Carrot's face, a mixture of pain and despair. His eyes narrowed as the look vanished from Carrot's face and eyes, knowing Carrot was going to try to lie to him.
Carrot opened his mouth to say something---what, he had no idea yet---but saw the stern look in Marron's eyes and looked away. "Marron, just chalk this one up to something that I'm not ready to tell you, okay," he pleaded softly, pulling his knees up to his chest, refusing to look at Marron.
Marron looked at the way his niisan was sitting, the protective hunched way he sat as if waiting for a blow to fall, determined to protect himself.
Silently he asked Yaksha, ~"Do you know what's wrong with him,"~ feeling the alien stir in his mind. ~Yes, I believe so, but he will not like it if I told you. It's something that he must tell you himself~ and he disappeared.
Marron sighed in frustration, "Will you tell at some point in time," he asked quietly, putting his hand on a slender forearm.
Carrot looked sadly at the worried Marron, "No, little bro, I think that this may be something I will never tell you. I'm sorry," he whispered, overcome by shame and self-loathing, feeling the others and Haraishin remain silent.
"Secrets can be dangerous," Marron said as he climbed into bed.
"True, but some secrets should be kept if they only hurt people," Carrot half-whispered feeling Marron settling himself. He wondered what he was going to do, not knowing if he could sleep beside Marron night after night, feeling the way he felt---wanting to fell Marron's body wrapped around him, wanting to feel him over him--in him writhing in passion. He gritted his teeth and prayed, laying beside Marron, feeling him settle against him, stroking the black silky hair as sleep finally overcame the body in his arms.
Stealthily he crept out of bed and went to stand before the window, gazing distantly out into the distance.
Black eyes opened, deep in his mind, ~"So what do you plan to do," Haraishin asked idly~
~I don't know," Carrot admitted, resting his head wearily against the windowpane. "All I know is that Marron MUST NOT find out that I'm as sick as Onion! I would rather he was mad at me rather than see hatred and disgust in his eyes," Carrot added.~
~"Perhaps you should speak to him," Haraishin suggested, he didn't like to see his human upset, "Maybe he will understand."~
~"Sure, why don't I just tell my BROTHER that I'm in love with him, that I want him to do all the nasty little things Onion did to me. That I want my brother to fuck my ass until he screams my name. Then I can watch all that beautiful shining love in his eyes turn to black disgust because I had to go and ruin things!" Carrot was sarcastic in his pain. He shook his head, "Silence is the best way to go."~
~"And how long do you plan to keep this up," Haraishin asked curiously.~
~"As long as I can," Carrot said grimly, his hands clenched, "As long as I can."~
Marron woke to an unusual morning, for once not having to pry Carrot's arms from around him and turned around to some teasing remark---the other side of their bed was empty. He frowned and padded silently over to the bathroom, tapping lightly calling his niisan's name, still no Carrot.
He stepped through the bathroom and poked his head in their sitting room---empty.
His frown growing stronger as he stepped into the shower, never remembering Carrot up at this time in months they had been sleeping together, he grimaced at how odd that sounded. Still wondering where his niisan was as he got dressed and lightly ran down the stairs.
"Has anyone seen....," he broke off as he saw Carrot sitting at the breakfast table, laughing with Chocolate. "Oh niisan, I was wondering where you had gotten to," he said as he poured a cup of coffee and served himself. Sitting at the table, he was unaware of the quick look Carrot gave him.
"Oh, I came downstairs earlier. I woke up a little early and felt the need to feed," Carrot said sunnily digging into his plate. He didn't notice the surprised look Gateau gave his, but Marron did.
Gateau was puzzled, he had gotten up real early from Tira's bed, to get exercising done in the weight room. He saw Carrot outside swimming furiously in the pool and thought nothing of it.
After breakfast, Marron pulled Gateau aside and asked him why he had looked at Carrot so strangely.
Gateau frowned, "I dunno, it's just that....he looked like he was trying to escaped something. When I saw him later, he looked almost like he was hurting for some reason."
Marron though about what Gateau had said, wondering why his niisan had decided to 'hedge' the truth. He surreptitiously began watching Carrot that day and at time he thought that it was just his imagination until he finally saw the deepset pain in his niisan's eyes when he thought he was alone.
It wasn't for another two nights before he realized that Carrot was creeping out of their bed after he was asleep. And he was hurt, not knowing what to say or do.
So he did nothing, only watched and waited for his niisan to tell what was wrong.
Over the night couple of days, he began noticing how his niisan seemed to shy away from him, flinching away from physical contact--- growing more confused and angry as the wall between them got higher and higher.
The others regarded the silent brothers with varying expressions of alarm and concern. However, only Gateau knew the true reason behind Carrot's distancing himself from Marron. He had seen the past the jovial mask that Carrot wore around them, seeing the self-loathing and longing in the younger boy eye's when he thought himself unobserved...and watching Marron.
Gateau didn't know what to do. On one hand incest.....Ewwww! But on the other hand....but on the other hand, hell there was no other hand, he just fuckin' didn't know what to do or what to think.
He figured out why Carrot was hanging with him instead, trying to do everything he could to distract himself from Marron. Which was, of course, now causing a certain coolness from Marron towards him and now Marron was avoiding HIM.
He knew that the two were no longer sleeping together, and dear God can that sound more disgusting, he thought to himself, but he didn't know if he should interfere between what was going on or should he mind his own damn business; which was always a good idea.
He brighten, he would talk to Tira in the morning and dump the whole mess in HER lap. Satisfied with his solution, he slept like a baby with a satisfied smirk on his face.
They continued their investigation of Onion, slowly putting the pieces together. It was almost like pulling at a ball of string. Each time they thought they had a solid lead, they would run into a dead end. They were getting increasingly frustrated, sensing that time was running out. They had evaded another attack by Onion, after Eclair they had learned to stick together and maintaining a wary caution at all times. Fortunately for them the car bomb didn't do any real significant damage. Only a couple of bruises, here and there from the stones and dirt showering them from the explosion.
Stella sat at the heard of the breakfast table looking at the glum faces of her Hunters.
"I believed we need to get Toni and her brother to check out some information on Onion. Those two have quite a few contacts on the other side, maybe their contacts will provide some answers," she said watching Marron, needing to know how he was reacting to her decision.
She saw surprise and wariness followed by his usual non-committal expression. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw Carrot's head come up and stare fixedly at Marron who regarded him with a cool blank look.
"Perhaps that would be a good idea. It'll be....nice to see Toni again," he murmured, his eyes half-closed, a faint smile on his face.
Carrot pushed back his chair and quietly excused himself both Gateau and Tira watched him with troubled looks.
When Gateau had told Tira what he thought the problem between Marron and Carrot, Tira had looked thoughtful before remarking that she had a feeling that the problem may be caused moreso from Carrot's end rather from Marron. She suggested bringing in Chocolate in on this discussion to Gateau's dismay. He certainly didn't want either Carrot or Marron pissed off at him, he shuddered, even though they were friends, Marron sure as Hell could be a mean bastard when he got pissed.
They met in Chocolate's room, grabbing Eclair, hoping that between the four of them they could think of what to do. After Tira and Gateau had filled Chocolate and Eclair in, Chocolate sat and thought with them looking at her expectantly.
When she finally stirred they leaned forward eagerly, "I got a feeling that Darling hasn't told Marron what the problem is. You know how he is, if he thinks he feels like he needs to protect Marron, especially from him. He's probably hating himself about now for having such feelings for his brother, figuring that he's just like Onion," she said quietly a distant look in her eyes. She nodded at the protesting cries from the other three, "I just said he probably THINKS he like the rat bastard, not that he is," she shrugged.
"But do you think Marron should be told," Tira asked anxiously, twisting her hands.
Chocolate shook her head firmly, "Certainly not by us!" she held up her hand sharply to Gateau, "Before you say anything, this is a decision to be made between Marron and Carrot. It's not for us to judge or condemn Carrot, which is probably something he fears from us. To be quite frank, I really can't imagine Carrot with anyone other that Marron or vice versa. Can you see Carrot with anyone that will give him the love and acceptance that he needs, without trying to change him; someone that will allow him to soar free, trusting him to know his own mind; someone that loves him for who he is, fault, warts and all?"
Eclair decided to add her voice, "And Gateau, when have you EVER seen Marron so protective and loving to anyone; you know how cool and controlled Marron is, but with Carrot he's not like that, he laughs and for the first time he acts his age and not like some old man. He's so much more relaxed around Carrot than he is with anyone." Gateau slowly nodded his head in agreement.
"And once you get past the fact that they are brothers, you can see just how perfect they are for each other. They look RIGHT together, like...like they're....," she searched for words.
"....like they are the other half of each other's soul," Gateau said softly, his eyes distant.
Chocolate, Eclair and Tira nodded excitedly, "Yes! That's it exactly," Tira said smiling. "It's like they were made for each other."
Gateau frowned unhappily, "But they're brothers! I mean," he ran a hand though his hair in frustration, pacing back and forth," They are brothers," he protested, still not being able to get past that point. He held up a triumphant finger, "And Marron's not GAY!"
Chocolate shrugged, "Neither is Carrot really."
"WHAT?!" Gateau bellowed in surprise. "B..but his father...Zaha," he sputted under the girls amused eyes, finally getting the point, "You mean you...," waving a hand expressively at Chocolate, who nodded. He blinked, as Tira added her two cents.
"And me," she said cheerfully, watching her lover wheeze as he collapsed in a chair.
"All three of you," he choked out, eyes bulging.
"Not at the same time," Tira hastily assured him.
Gateau nodded, feeling like he had stepped into the Twilight Zone, "Of course not," he said in a faint voice.
"I know he slept with Joanie and Stacy at the same time, though," Chocolate said offhandedly to Tira who gasped; Eclair's eyes widen, she didn't know who the women were but she wanted to hear the gossip as well!
"No way! He didn't," Tira said, her eyes widening at this choice piece of gossip.
"Yep," Chocolate assured Tira, she eagerly scooted forward as Tira and Eclair hopped on the bed. "You remember when we had that sleepover a few months back," she waited til Tira eagerly nodded, "Well, apparently Tonya and Rachel had told them about Carrot's," she paused gesturing with her hands, indicating Carrot's size, "And THEY wanted to see what was so great about him, so....," she winked and shrugged her shoulders suggestively.
"OH MY FREAKING GOD!" Tira screeched, "Where did you hear this."
Gateau face was becoming suffused with blood at all these sweeping revelations.
"I got it straight from Joanie and Stacy! Didn't you notice how funny they were walking," Chocolate's and Tira fell over with shrieks of laughter.
"You mean to tell me that...that Carrot's had sex with at least five women," he was flabbergasted!
"Uhm, I thinks it's about 10," Tira said in a small voice scooting off the bed, approaching him tentatively.
"What's about 10," he snapped trying to get his mind around the fact of Chocolate and Tira with Carrot. Carrot with any female for that matter!
"The number he's been in bed with," Tira said, looking mischievous, "Against the wall with, in a broom closet with, in the shower with and on the stairs with," she said casually, watching the sputtering lover with fond eyes. For all his bluster, he was surprisingly conservative.
"Carrot's a little freak," he said in a faint voice. "I always thought his skirt chasing was just an act," he said in a wondering voice.
Chocolate waved a dismissive hand, "Oh, that's an act! Actually it's more like a hobby as he likes to call it, but we're getting off the subject," she frowned at Gateau, who sighed.
"Okay whaddaya want to do," he said in resignation, know he had already lost the apparent argument before he had even opened his mouth.
"Shopping," Eclair said decisively, looking at Chocolate and Tira who nodded in agreement.
Gateau was bewildered, not making the connection between shopping and getting Carrot and Marron together. He felt like they were talking in some secret code, "Uhm, confused guy over here," he waved his hand.
"What does shopping have to do with anything," he said slowly so that there would be no misunderstanding between them.
Tira, Eclair and Chocolate exchanged puzzled looks, "Well, when you want to attract some guy's attention you go shopping for new clothes."
"But he's got a closet full of clothes," he protested, "What's wrong with the ones he's got now," he said wondering if he was going crazy.
Tira dismissed Carrot's entire wardrobe, "He needs something that'll make Marron notice him," she insisted.
"But Marron does notice him," he immediately protested, feeling lost in FemaleLand.
"Not like that, we need Marron to *notice* him," Eclair said forcefully.
"That's what I just said," Gateau shouted, he really felt like crying; they were confusing him deliberately, he was sure!
Chocolate blew out an exasperated breath, "Look, Gateau, we know what we are doing, so just sit back and watch the experts work," Chocolate shared a smirk with Tira and Eclair.
"Well, if I know Toni, I suggest we do this BEFORE the she gets here," Gateau sighed, exchanging grimaces with Eclair. How in the hell he got roped in to setting up his best friend to get seduced by his own BROTHER! What was the world coming to, he thought to himself.
"Why, what's wrong with her," Chocolate asked curiously.
"Well, let's just put it this way," Gateau said slowly, "SHE'S A BITCH!"
"Actually, brother, calling her a bitch is insulting to canines all over the world," Eclair said with a disgusted look on her face.
"True," Gateau nodded.
They turned to the puzzled Misu sisters, "See it's like this, she wants the Churches million, Marron is Stella's son," Gateau kissed his fingers and in a fake heavy French accent, "And voila, it is done! She becomes Mrs. Marron Church," he said in disgust.
