4Time For Only One

"Would you keep it down and be careful," Orphen growled softly to the Leki look alike trotting beside him.had changed into a Leki look alike just so she wouldn't be detected and if Oprhen were actually seen she wouldn't be.let out a low growl. It hadn't been her fault.had tripped almost standing on her tail so she had leapt sideways out of the way and had knocked over a stack of books that had been piled up beside the wall.continued down the hall and went up a staircase. Upon reaching the floor above they turned left down that hall.the second last door Orphen paused.
"This is Lai's room I'm sure this is where we will find them," Orphen whispered.nudged the door so Orphen opened it and they quietly slipped in.looked around the room and saw Lai looking at them from an armchair beside the bed.lay on the bed, a light sheet over him, breathing raggedly.went up and jumped on the bed beside Hartia.grinned at Lai who stood up and walked over to Orphen.
"Thank-you for coming Orphen," Lai said, "But why did you bring Leki."
"Leki. I don't have Leki with me," Orphen said smirking.turned to the bed to see Shamira sitting on it leaning over Hartia.
"H-h-how," Lai stuttered.
"Lai I'd like you to meet my newest apprentice Shamira Fang," Orphen said.
"Fang as in Anaheim Fang?" Lai asked.
"The very same. She's a Shamanic Angel. Pure blood," Orphen said, "She has come up with a temporary solution to help Hartia."
"Really?" Lai said the joy in his voice unmasked.
"Yes I have," Shamira said getting off the bed and walking over to the desk in the room.picked up a small dagger off it and took it back to the bed with her. Shamira put the dagger on the bed beside her and tenderly opened Hartia's mouth wide.
"You may want to hold him," Shamira said.and Oprhen came over and held Harita's arms and shoulders down. Shamira picked up the dagger.
"What are you doing?" Lai asked frightened that she was going to hurt Hartia.looked at Lai and gave him her most reassuring smile before running the dagger blade across her hand causing a one and a half-inch gash across the palm. the dagger on the bed she squeezed her hand over Hartia's mouth. A trickle of blood ran down the side of her hand and dripped into Hartia's mouth.she thought there was enough blood in Hartia's mouth she closed his mouth with her other hand and stroked his throat. swallowed the blood with a gasping gulp.
"Let me heal that," Orphen said.
"You can't it has to heal on its own," Shamira said, "Other wise the spell won't work."ripped off a piece of his robe and handed it to Shamira. She smiled a thank-you at him taking the piece of cloth and wrapping it around her hand.
"How have things been around here," Orphen asked Lai who had reseated himself in the armchair.was now leaning against the wall by the door and Shamira was watching Hartia closely to see if her idea would work.
"Rather tense. The elders are somewhat upset over something. I've never been called upon this much before. They keep asking what the future has in store for them and the Tower but I have been unable to see anything. It is literally all cloudy," Lai said confused.
"That is weird," Orphen said.
"Not necessarily," Shamira said sitting up and looking at them, "Because the Purity Stone has been taken it may be causing a magical interference."
"The Purity Stone has been taken?" Lai asked shocked.
"Yes and in to the hands of evil I'm afraid," Shamira said getting up off the bed and stretching.
"What about the majestic five. Has the Purity Stone affected them yet?" Lai asked.
"Yes," Orphen replied.
"Then how do you plan on getting the blood?" Lai asked.
"Haven't come up with a plan yet," Orphen said simply.sighed and looked over at Hartia, who had started to glow lightly, and stood.
"You needn't worry I'm sure that we will get the blood. Hartia will be up and around in no time," Shamira said standing beside Lai.
"I hope so," Lai said softly.
"Lai may I ask you something?" Shamira asked.
"Yes," Lai replied.
"Have you ever been to the room above the elders chambers?" Shamira asked.
"There's a room above the chambers?" Lai and Orphen asked in unison.
"Well that answers that question," Shamira said rolling her eyes.
"Why do you ask?" Lai asked.
"Never mind," Shamira said then she turned to Orphen, "I must go for a short while."
"Not without me," Orphen said firmly.
"But I must. I need to get into that room and your not inconspicuous enough," Shamira said.
"What is in that room that is so important," Lai asked.
"An amulet," Shamira said, "It allows me to call upon my fathers powers. Because they were made dormant so he could marry my mother they are dormant within me and until the time comes for them to become active again I need that amulet."
"Alright but be careful and stay out of trouble," Orphen said warningly.
"Thank-you," Shamira said and went to the door and before walking out it she said, "Won't be long."Lai's room Shamira transformed into a spider and climbed the walls.her memory of the tower from when she was a child she was able to find the elders chambers easy enough.under the gap at the bottom of the door she climbed the walls and walked across the roof.room was dark and silent which made Shamira a little suspicious.reaching the other side of the chambers she crawled through one of the gaps in the brickwork and soon found herself in the hidden room.room itself was small and furnished with only a desk, a chair and a wooden chest.transformed back to human form, landing in a crouch on the floor.up she quickly ran to the chest and opened it. There sitting on top of the chests contents was a small, red velvet box.picked up the box and opened it. On the small satin cushion inside was a large purple crystal on a silver chain.sighed and kissed the amulet. Shamira wanted to go through the chest but knew there wasn't the time.put the amulet around her neck and the box back in the chest. She closed the lid and turned around coming face to face with glowing yellow eyes and sharp teeth.creature hissed and Shamira screamed.creature lunged at her but Shamira ducked and changed into a Falcon.flew up high in the air.creature lunged at her again but missed and plunged through the wall of the room and out into the night.a spell behind her to fix up the wall of the room she flew high into the sky.the creature was in front of her. Shamira flew straight towards the ground pulling up only at the last moment. The creature crashed into the ground but immediately got up and came after her with an almighty screech.

'I can't do anything in this form. I have to change to my true form.'
immediately transformed into her true form. Becoming human again only this time with wings that were like a butterfly's but only in more abundance. Catching a glimpse out of the corner of her eye she caught the flashes of blue and white of her mother's powers but the purple of her father's was nowhere in sight.automatically felt disappointed. The amulet may activate her father's powers but not officially enough to come out in her wings.was brought out of her thoughts by the close screeching of the creature. Shamira turned her head slightly and saw that it was right behind her. Shamira turned so she was flying backwards and threw an ice spear at it but the creature dodged it. She threw another and another but the creature kept dodging them.suddenly flew upwards so it was outlined by the moon and dived at her. Shamira was so shocked to actually see what the creature was that she didn't move out of it's way in time and they both came crashing to earth.slid on her back and went crashing through a stone wall coming to a stop at the foot of a stone pillar.watched as the creature got up and started advancing towards her. Shamira tried to get up but fell back to the ground heavily. The creature picked up a large stone and hefted it high above its head and continued to advance.tried desperately to get up but couldn't. She felt drained of energy and weak.suddenly saw the reason for her weakness. On the belt of the troll a black piece of Shamanic Angel wing.creature was now in front of her. She raised her arms to protect herself but the stone never hit.who had seen the whole thing from Lai's window, had come running out to the yard and sent a fireball at the creature who dropped the stone behind itself.tried again to get up but failed, That was when Lai came and helped her up. Lifting her up he carried her away from where Orphen and the creature were fighting.
"Lai, the creature it has been changed by the Purity Stone but in an evil way. It's a goblin Lai and goblins don't have wings. They tainted it," Shamira said.
"Shh," Lai said softly, "It's okay now."watched as suddenly the goblin took flight and disappeared.
"Are you okay?" Orphen asked Shamira concerned for her then he looked back to where the goblin had disappeared, "What the hell happened to it?"
"The purity stone tainted it with evil," Shamira said tears streaking down her face.
"Shh Shamira it's over now," Lai said holding her closer.
"You don't understand. That was a piece of wing from a dead Shamanic Angel on its belt. They killed one of my own," Shamira cried.rested his chin on her head and held her close. Orphen stroked her cheek comfortingly.
"Was that why you couldn't fight?" Orphen asked.nodded and said, "It weakens me."
"We should get her inside. That commotion may have gotten us some unwanted attention," Lai said.carried Shamira back to his room with Orphen walking beside him.they entered the room Shamira squirmed slightly and Lai put her down in the armchair.gave a large yawn just then baring her fangs and growling.
"What's wrong," Orphen asked.
"Just tired," Shamira replied sleepily.
"Rest up, we'll have to leave in a short while to make it back to town before sunrise," Orphen said.nodded, stood up from the chair, and transformed into the Leki look alike again hopping up onto the bed.curled up near Hartia partly for warmth and partly so she could sense if something went wrong with him.she was asleep and Lai and Orphen watched her.
"She is what is causing the elders to be so tense isn't she?" Lai asked Orphen.
"Yes and you must not tell them anything about her," Orphen said.
"I give you my word," Lai said, "How is young Majic going and Cleao?"
"The usual," Orphen said looking at Shamira, "They have become firm friends with Shamira but only Cleao knows about what she really is."
"Why haven't you told Majic?" Lai asked.
"I don't know for some reason I feel like I must keep it a secret from him. It's so frustrating. I don't understand it," Orphen said.
"Maybe he's not meant to know until a specific time," Lai said, "I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation."
"Maybe," Orphen said.two sorcerors were silent for a short time when a knock at the door had Orphen diving for a hiding place.got up and answered the door.him stood one of the younger sorcerors.
"Lai the elders are wanting to know if you know anything about the disturbances a short while ago?" the young man asked.
"Tell them I don't. I was caught up in watching over Hartia," Lai replied before closing the door.came out of hiding.
"I hate hiding," Orphen said grumpily.
"You didn't have a choice. If the elders knew you had returned they would be suspicious," Lai replied going to sit in the armchair.had just sat down when Shamira sat up and transformed back to human form.eyes were wide and she looked both shocked and fearful.
"Have mercy," she whispered.
