Warning: THERE IS A LOT OF DEATH AND SOME RAPE IN THIS STORY. IF YOU DON’T LIKE THOSE KIND OF THINGS, THEN THIS ISN’T THE STORY FOR YOU. (I personally don’t like rape either, but I can’t deny that it happens) SO, DON’T READ IF YOU’RE A SQUEMISH PERSON.

A soft breeze blew in through the open window of the hospital room, caressing everything it touched lovingly. It crept its way over to the occupant of the room, swirling his silver locks about his face. He lay as if in death, stuck in a coma and unable to wake. He didn’t even know that the window had been open, his sapphire eyes shut in dreamless sleep.

The gentle wind also reached another man, who sat in an uncomfortable seat near the hospital bed. His golden eyes watched the rise and fall of the sleeping man’s chest, a tumble of emotions going through his mind. A television blared in the other room, reporting the same thing over and over again every other hour.

“This morning at eight o’clock, Eyes Rutherford, aspiring pianist, was stabbed in the chest at Tsukinome Airport. Some witnesses say that he was talking to a man, but nobody could identify him. What we want to know is how someone could get away this. Eyes Rutherford is in lying in a coma in critical condition. His whereabouts are unknown, except for the fact that he is in a hospital being treated. He….”

The golden-eyed man tuned out the rest of the report, having heard it earlier and knowing in great detail how Eyes, the occupant of the bed, had come to be in his coma. He stared down at the younger Blade Child, his thoughts confused and jumbled. He had been unable to kill Eyes and now he had to watch the painful seconds that determined whether the pianist would wake up or not.

Part of him wanted the younger man to wake up, the other half demanded that he finish what he had started and kill the blue-eyed teen while he slept. But he couldn’t make himself move and continued to watch the rise and fall of Eyes’ chest.

“Don’t wake up.” Kanone whispered, tears falling down his cheeks as he held his head in his hands, “Just stay asleep, Eyes. Find your salvation in death, in peaceful slumber. Don’t return to this world again. I don’t want to have to kill you again.”

He got to his feet slowly, his golden gaze never leaving the sleeping man’s face. He ran his hand through the other man’s hair before caressing the teen’s cheek softly. “Don’t return to them, Eyes. They---- we don’t deserve you. Sleep in eternity, while I finish what I started with the Blade Children. I will destroy them, then join you in Hell. Just wait for me.”

He stepped back from the bed and his friend, tears still streaming down his face. Kanone could hear somebody coming towards the room, their heels clicking on the floor as they approached. He quickly crossed the distance between the bed and the door and hid behind the door as it opened. A nurse stepped in, out of breath and her clothes in disarray. The brunette had a feeling that she had been doing something dirty while she was supposed to be on duty, but that wasn’t really his business, now was it?

The brunette walked out from behind the door and quickly exited the room, not even looking back. He did once though and turned slightly, his gaze falling on what he knew to be Eyes’ room and whispered, “Good-bye… brother.”

The nurse went over to the heart monitor beside Eyes’ bed, checking on her patient along the way. The wind was blowing and making his hair fly softly around his face and his face was scrunched up as if in pain. She smoothed back his hair, her eyes flitting over to the heart monitor.

She noticed that the pianist’s heart rate was a little fast, but otherwise everything seemed fine. She glanced over at the silver-haired teen, who was slowly calming down. She smiled and went over to the open window. She didn’t know who had opened it, but shrugged. It wasn’t her job to ask questions about things like that. Maybe somebody had wanted the patient to have some fresh air.

After closing the window, the nurse went back over to Eyes and smoothed his hair back once more. She knew that this was probably the only time she’d ever have some alone time with the famous man, but also knew not to take to much advantage over it. Smiling, she leaned down and kissed the teen on the lips, her cheeks a rosy red. Then she got up and went over to the door. She stopped and turned to look at the teen, a smile on her face.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Rutherford. All you had was a bad dream.”
