Early the next morning, so early the sun hadnt risen yet. Dodger layed sound asleep in her comfy bed. Coconut layed snuggled against her feeling a sense of safety being near the menodix. Moca slept in the bed next to hers silently snoring. Her green cap hung on the post of the bed. They were both startled by a loud banging noise. "Get up, maggot!"screamed a familiar voice from outside the room. Dodger whined, turned over and slammed the pillow onto her head.

"Five more minutes, Mom......."she mumbled. The banging got louder.

"I said get up! Now!"screamed Albel's voice. Dodger rolled back over.

"Coming."she said sleepily getting out the bed with the blankets wrapped around her. She slowly made her way over to the door and opened it. "What is it?"she asked rubbing her eye sleepily.

"It's time for training, you fool."

"This early?"she asked.

"True Airiglyph soldiers rise before the sun."

"But why?"

"Shut up and get ready! You have ten minutes!"he slammed the door shut. Dodger sighed.

"Well...no one said this was gonna be easy."

About half an hour later, both Dodger and Albel were walking through the Traum Mountains. During this time of the year lots of monster migrated into this area for their mating season. Dodger was enjoying a tastey chocolate bar. "Man, is there anything Moca cant cook?"she thought to herself before taking another bite. "Delicious.."she said quietly to herself.

"Maggot, what are you eating?"questioned Albel. Dodger quickly hid the snack behind her back.

"Nothing!"she shook her head rapidly. Albel grabbed grabbed her arm and held it up revealing the chocolate she was holding. He took it from her.

"Give me that crap! We soldiers dont eat such junk!"Dodger tried to get it back but Albel held it up out of her reach. She tried jumping for it.

"Awww...come on! Lighten up!"she whined.

"You will not be eating this."he then threw the chocolate bar with all of his might. Dodger watched it soar through the air with her ears lowered. She trembled with anger.

"You big jerk! Now Im gonna starve!"she yelled.

"Good! Maybe you'll lose a few pounds!"

"I like my figure!"she placed her hands on her hips. "I dont need to lose a pound."

"If you want to become a soldier, you'll listen to me! You first lesson is fighting."

"How can I fight with no breakfast?"she whined.

"If you want your morning nutrition you have to get it yourself!"he pointed to a circling harpy in the sky. "Kill it before you become it's breakfast."Dodger stared up at the purple bird woman flying above her.

"Yup, she's definately after me."she unsheathed her scythes. She licked her lips. "Harpy over an open flame. I can taste it right now." she now watched as the hapry dive bombed toward her. "Let's see how ya like this!" she threw her scythe at the vicious bird. The razor sharp scythe flew up at the harpy spinning rapidly. It evaded the blade as it continued to fly full speed at Dodger. So she threw the second scythe. Just like the first it evaded it.

"You fool! You cant send an air attack on a harpy!"yelled Albel. It looks like Dodger was about to be bird food. Just at it was about to hit the small menodix, Dodger threw a handful of dirt into its face. The menodix always kept some dirt tucked in her armor in case she ever needed to stun the enemy for a bit to make a quick get away. The poultry let out a painful cry as it fell to the ground with its eyes watering while whimpering.

"Hehe, dont underestimate a Huxley."she held up her hand.....she caught the first scythe. Oooh! Boomerang action! "Take this!"she brought the blade down on its body. The monster's crying came to a stop. She then caught the second scythe. She slashed the corpse with that one too. She then sheathed both her scythes and picked up the harpy's body over her shoulder. "That was actually kinda easy. Didnt take long at all."she turned to Albel. "How was that?"she asked feeling quite proud of herself.

"Average."was all he said. "You can eat after your morning training. Lesson 2 is speed."

"Speed? What do you mean speed?"she asked.

"An Airiglyph soldier must be quick on his feet. Even though we usually travel by dragon. Run. Now."

"What?! Oh come on! It's too early to be runnin'!"

"I said get your little ass moving!"he unsheathed his katana.

"You cant make me!"she teased. "Nyah nyah!"

"I said RUN!"he poked her from behind with his sword.

"Ooooooooooooooooooooow!"screamed the menodix as she took off running. Rather fast too.

"Hmm....not bad."said the Airiglyph soldier as he sheathed his weapon.
