The Return of the Ancients

Jack was right about the paper in the living room, however, Harry was concerned about the “Don't ask, don't tell” rule that all military members followed. All three were pensive until Harry remembered something in one of the books back home about magical anchors.

“Jack, Daniel can you come here for a moment? I just remembered something that could help us with the 'Don't ask, don't tell' rule that's set up.” He was soon sandwiched between both of his mates. “I remember reading a few years back about anchors for High Mages, Sorcerers and High Sorcerers. Hermione and Ron Anchor each other. They're as different as night and day, but that's what they need for their magic to work. Neville needs two people and since both Sam and Teal's had a symbiote, it makes them perfect for him. They both know Neville's strength and they compliment him.”

Harry stole Daniel's coffee and took a sip. “Thanks. Now for me, Since I'm a High Sorcerer, it makes it just that much harder for me to find my mates. Jack is an Ancient without the extent of powers I have, thus would be considered a squib back home. Daniel, you've 'Ascended' thus changing your genetic makeup, making you similar the Jack magically. Now, you both know how I react to certain stimulants, and thus since there are two 'Alpha males' it makes sense that I would submit to the two of you.”

Harry took another drink of coffee and let the pair absorb the information he was giving them. “Now, while I am the submissive, that doesn't mean that I won't tell you when something is wrong. Neville is right about my Magic being a sounding board for danger. If there is danger where ever we're going, then I will tell you. You don't have to watch me 24/7 with this arrangement, since it'll drive the lot of us batty with in a week. All I ask is that we don't show that we are together, but we don't try to hide it. If we get asked about it, then we give the anchor explanation.”

Jack and Daniel were both pleased with this information, thus allowing them to also show that they enjoy each other's company more than they should. However, they would just keep doing what they have been doing for years, but were going to keep an extra eye on Harry encase he would ever need one of them. Jack smiled at Harry and shooed them both into the kitchen, they still had to work some things out today, and they all needed breakfast anyways.

As the day dragged on, Harry reflected on how easily he worked with Daniel and Jack as soon as he and his friends appeared in this dimension. With Jack, he could fuel his love of sports and simplicity, while with Daniel Harry was able to relax and simply be. Both were opposites to the other, while he was a mixture of the two. They could pin him down, and all he'd do is smile. He just hoped that the others weren't going to freak out on him with who his mates were. Harry was positive though that they made bets instead.

Friday was hectic. Harry needed to get the reading from the planet, but no one was handing them over. Just as he was about to start hexing people, Daniel came into the room and demanded what the hold up was. The crew has the decency to be sheepish, however, Harry left them all temporarily castrated and followed Daniel to the briefing room. With a positive from all parties, Harry would finally see what was so special about the ruins they were going to see.

Being told that they were heading out in two hours, four wizards and SG1 headed to the infirmary to get the approval to get off the planet. Harry was still glowering over what had been done to him by the controllers, and it took both Jack and Daniel to calm him down before they left. After a good ten minutes of snogging, the trio made their way to the gate, and saw that everyone was set by mates. Giving Hermione a wink, Harry followed Jack through the 'Gate and collected the information of the last battles that had occurred around the 'Gate.

When everyone was through, Jack, Harry and Daniel were laughing at the footage showing what had been done to the Jaffa that had tried to attack the team as they left the planet. Setting up wards around the 'Gate as a way to track those that would come through to surprise them, the team made their way to the ruins that were visible even at the Stargate.

----------------------------------------------------------------- ----

Harry was absolutely bored. Daniel was happily reading the markings on the temple, Neville was looking over the plant life with a critical eye, Sam and Teal'c were watching over Neville, Ron and Hermione were guarding Daniel and Jack was no where to be found. Harry pulled out his note-book and began working on his translating spell again. He knew that he was close, he just needed a way to make sure that whoever casted the spell would have the writings translated into their mother tongue.

Harry was so absorbed in his spell work, he let part of his guard down. Jack noticed this from his point on the roof of the ruins they were in. Knowing that Harry's reflexes were dangerous when he wasn't paying attention, Jack made just enough noise to alert Harry. Looking up from his work, Harry gave a weak smile as Jack sat beside him.

“You seem frustrated. What ya working on that's making ya cranky?” Jack's voice was teasing, but he was genuinely curious.

“I'm trying to make a translation spell so that it is easier for Daniel to understand the markings on the walls. I have it mostly down pact, but I'm trying to get it done to the mother tongue of the person hit with the spell. I have the spell perfectly, but to get the wand movement is so confusing.” Harry wiped the sweat off his brow.

Jack chuckled at Harry's expression and asked about a stabbing motion. Harry fell silent for a moment before he leaped at Jack and kissed him soundly on the lips.

“That's it! Thank you Jack!”

Harry missed the look of shock on Jack's face as Harry ran into the ruins and performed the spell on Daniel. Hearing the yelp of surprise, and seeing Daniel quickly writing everything down in English, Harry allowed himself to feel smug.

The rest of the mission went off without a hitch, and on their way back to the 'Gate, Harry froze. Hermione and Ron stopped as well and called to Harry. Their voices stopped the others, and Harry faced them with dilated pupils.

“Somethings at the 'Gate. Not sure what, but it's big and it doesn't like the wards I set up.” His tone was hushed and he was blinking rapidly.

Jack and Sam looked over the edge of the hill and saw something similar to a giant grizzly. Backing off slowly, Jack bit his lip and asked Harry if he could drop the wards, without being near them. Harry nodded and let the wards fall, allowing the creature to move. Unluckily for them, it was headed their way.

Harry tried not to panic, but he was tired. With Jack on one side of him, and Daniel on the other, Harry was able to hold himself together enough to hide in the forest, and follow SG1 down to the 'Gate. Just as Daniel finished the dialing, the creature came back into view and roared in anger. They managed to get through in time, and were able to close off the iris without the creature following.

Harry shivered in shock, and was led to the infirmary to have a quick check up done. Janet was pleased with the results and told them that Harry just needed rest, and a good meal. With a quick debriefing, Jack led SG1 and the 'Wizards' to his place.

It didn't take long for Harry to come back to them. After he managed to find himself wrapped in Jack and Daniel's embrace, Harry burrowed deeper, trying to sleep.

“Oh no you don't mate. We're trying to figure out a code name for our group here. We'll need your help. We're against SGW, to unoriginal, and so is SGA and SGM. What do you think?” Ron's voice broke through Harry's semi-sleep state, and he glared at him from his cocoon.

“Don't know. What bout skipping the SG, since they know we're attached to SG1 no matter what. If we really want to give them a kick in the pants, just tell them that we're with SG1. I really don't care, as long as it sounds pleasant if you say the acronym as it's spelled.” Harry yawned and tried to sleep, but he jumped from his spot when Hermione shrieked.

“SGSC! It'll leave them confused and lost. They won't understand that SC stands for Spell Casters!” Her voice was hyper and Harry nodded as he climbed back into his spot between Jack and Daniel.

“Good, we have a name. Now shut up and let me sleep.” Harry's voice was somewhat muffled, but blissful silence followed, letting Harry get his well deserved nap.
