She was staring at the sea. Dark and mysterious as always. That's how people saw her. As the ocean. Her eyes were just lost in this familiar thing. She was nothing but a single drop of water. She was nobody.
Suddenly her thoughts were messed up by a weird noise. “We're not having meat for dinner again. You know I'm a vegetarian. That means I don't eat meat!!”
“I don't care. I like a big T-bone steak and I have my right to eat one”.
“That's okay if you don't make us eat it TOO!”
“I would say the same thing about your tofu-things!!”
“It's healthy!”
“It's trash!”
She turned around and saw Beast boy and Cyborg fighting with each other. Now their conversation had turned into screaming and yelling without any words with a meaning. She rubbed her temple and took a deep breath.
“Azarath Metrion Zinthos!” she said and a black light flew against them. They ducked in time and looked at the burned spot on the wall, then at her with shocked eyes. “I'm trying to relax a bit and think so would you please… SHUT UP!!” They ran out quickly. Now she had done it again. She had scared them away and closed herself again. She never let anyone in. She looked at the sea once more and then she went for her room.
The door closed behind her and she looked at the dark room once before she felt something pressing on the inside of her eye. Then a tear ran down her cheek. She leant against the wall, sat down and buried her head in her hands. Long time since she cried. Too long. Why did she scare everyone away? Suddenly she heard a voice outside.
“Raven?” She wiped the tears away and walked to the door. When she opened it she saw Beast boy's smiling face in front of her.
“Hey Rae!”
“…”
“You seemed rather upset in there so I just wanted to see if anything was wrong”.
“Everything is fine. Bye”, she said and the door almost closed, but Beast boy stopped it.
“Rae, why are you doing this?” he said and suddenly his face looked serious. It was hard to believe that this was the same person who had “discussed” dinner with Cyborg only ten minutes ago.
“What?” she said in a grumpy voice.
“Avoiding me and the others”.
“I'm a loner. Learn to deal with it!”
“You're not alone anymore, we're here”.
She turned her face away as she felt the press again. “You don't understand”.
“We can't understand if you don't tell us”, he said and lifted her head. Then he wiped her cheek and first now she realized that she was crying again. “I heard you crying before. In your room”.
“Don't look at me”, she said and tried to pull herself away from him, but he held her hand wrists tight.
“Don't hide from me”, he said as he laid his arms around her and hugged her. Her heart was beating fast and she felt that she blushed. Then she started crying. This time not a single silent tear. No, she was trembling and the tears ran faster and faster down her cheeks. He rocked and hushed at her. It felt so warm and safe in his embrace. She felt how he planted a kiss on her forehead and suddenly they went into her room. He pulled her down to the bed and kissed her at the mouth. Her fingers touched his face gently and her cape was sliding down to her side. She opened the buckle and let it fall to the floor. He pulled her close in to himself and buried his head between her shoulder and neck. She moaned weekly as she felt his breath against her skin and his fingers crawling up her back. She rolled over so he was on top. He looked her deeply in the eyes before kissing her again. She felt something cold inside her melting slowly and responded his kiss by sliding her tongue inside his mouth. He moaned silently at the attention and his hands were wandering down the curves of her body. She giggled weakly as his fingers touched her waist.
He looked at her and said as he smiled: “You have a sweet laughter”. She blushed. Then she felt him move away from her and she was almost starting to whimper. But then she felt his lips against her stomach and she gasped. Then he pulled of his shirt and started to undress her.
“Beast boy, wait…” she said, but stopped as his hand pulled her last clothes of and threw it on the floor. He started to lick her from her stomach and up to her chin until his lips met hers and they kissed hard. Suddenly she felt something inside of her followed by a pain and a small whimper left her lips.
“It hurts…” she said very silently.
“Don't worry. You're alright”, he replied and removed some hair from her face. Then he moved in and out of her. First slowly, then a little faster, a little more, a little more… She felt something building inside of her and made small gasps as she felt this something coming closer. Then she felt it sweeping through her body and she screamed out loud as her muscles jerked and then relaxed. She was breathing heavily and so was he. She saw sweat pearls on his forehead and wiped them off. Her fingers touched his hair gently and she smiled. He lay down beside her and put his arms around her. She felt safe in his embrace. Her hand pointed at the cape at the floor. It flew against them and covered them both. His nose was buried in her purple hair and his arms were holding her tightly.
“You're never alone”, he said.
“Nevermore”, she said and heard him laugh softly before his breathing slowed down and sounded a little deeper. She looked at the window and removed the curtains by waving her hands. The ocean was outside and she wasn't nobody anymore. Not just a drop in the sea. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
She didn't notice when the door suddenly was opened.
“Hey Raven you haven't seen Bea….”, Cyborg stopped as he saw the sleeping couple. Then he went out as fast as he could. Starfire flew to him.
“Did you find him, Cyborg?” she asked. He just nodded and smiled. Then they went down the hallway and only once he looked back at Raven's door to really register that this had happened.
