Chapter 6
Disclaimer: I don't own teen titans.
Alison was sick of just sitting around. She had these powers and they could kill. What was she supposed to do if they got out of control? She needed to learn how the heck she was supposed to use her powers. What were powers even worth if you could never use them?
At this moment she was sprawled out on her bed, her blonde hair in a high, sloppy ponytail, wearing a blue ROXY sweatshirt, too restless to read the magazine lying uselessly next to her. Fashion was the least of her worries at this moment.
The other night at the party…Robin…that was embarrassing. Everyone in the whole city knew that he and Star liked each other, and just today she'd heard on the news that they were totally “official.” Why had she been that stupid? She had more important things to worry about.
It was about 8:30pm and the sun was still setting. She looked out her widow and she could see the beach that had the dock which was extremely flimsy to the point where when you stepped on it every time a wave came you'd get knocked around. Her uncle said it was like being on a boat. Alison said it was almost more fun than a roller coaster. Her mother had never wanted to try it.
It was fun to watch people step on and watch their reactions when a huge wave came. She did it a lot when she had nothing to do, which was getting more and more common these days. It wasn't that her friends didn't like her, it's that she didn't think she could hang around with them without telling them.
She decided to go on the computer to check her email. Nothing but stuff from her friends. Stuff like “Hey Alison, there's a sale at the mall this weekend,” or “Dude, there's an awesome movie coming out!” She didn't know what else she expected.
She hesitated for a second before typing in google.com. In the search bar she typed “Time Shadower.”
The first few links weren't much help, only a brief history and an article about whether or not they were real. The third, however, was what she needed. “What a Time Shadower can do.” Naturally, she clicked on it.
“A Time Shadower is only a fancy name for a witch with extra powers. Naturally, a Time Shadower can make things older or younger, see into the future, and even go back to the past. What some people forget is that they can also do spells and make potions”
Several links followed (“How to write a spell,” “Easy potions,” and “Time shadowing”) along with a book title “A Time Shadower's Guide.” She clicked on the book title, which brought her to an Amazon page. The price was $1,000. Se bought it using the credit card her mom had given her for her tenth birthday.
She went back to the other site and clicked on the potions link and wrote the list of supplies she was going to need. She still had no idea where she'd get them, but she guessed she'd write them down for now. Suddenly her cell phone started ringing. She looked at the caller ID: TEEN TITANS.
“Hello?”
“Hey it's Raven,” said the other end.
“Oh, hey,” said Alison.
“Well, uh, I was going to ask if you wanted us to pick you up tomorrow so we can go over some stuff,” said Raven.
“Sounds good,” said Alison.
“Uh, okay, we'll pick you up around one,” said Raven.
“Um, okay,” said Alison.
“Bye,” said Raven.
“Later,” said Alison, hanging up.
She flopped back onto her bed and looked at the clock. It'd had only been fifteen minutes since the last time she looked at it. She picked up her magazine and flipped through the pages for maybe the hundredth time. “Most `in' colors this spring” and “Natural Make-up tips,” were the things teenagers in this society cared about, including her up until just the other day.
Her phone rang again. This time it was her best friend, Jamie.
“Hey you,” Alison answered.
“Hey, guess what?” said Jamie.
“Uh, the stock market crashed,” Alison guessed.
“Oh. So. Close. No, my older brother and a bunch of his friends are having a party and guess who's invited?” asked Jamie.
“Uh, Lindsay Lohan?” Alison guessed.
“Stop playing stupid,” said Jamie.
“I'm not…” Alison began.
“So…you coming?” asked Jamie.
“I don't know…” said Alison.
“Get ready…I'll be by to pick you up around 9:30,” said Jamie. Alison was about to answer when she realized that Jamie had hung up.
Alison sighed. This meant she had to get ready. She went into her closet, which was almost as big as a normal bedroom and started grabbing stuff. She picked out a red spaghetti strap mini dress, a pair of black stilettos, and she kept her hair in the same messy pony tail. Her mom wouldn't care if she left, she was at counseling again, and her uncle was at a meeting. This wasn't anything new to them. She put on bright red lip gloss and black mascara and finished just as the doorbell rang.
“Hey Jamie,” Alison greeted.
“Nice dress,” said Jamie.
“Thanks, you too,” said Alison. Jamie was wearing a silver and black dress that hit at the knee. Unlike Alison's mom, Jamie's parents wouldn't let her wear certain things. Jamie and Alison walked down the many stairs down to Jamie's limo. Jamie was the only other girl in school who ever used a limo. Alison used hers pretty much daily to get her home from school, while Jamie's brother took her in his convertible.
They got into the car and talked for awhile, making jokes about random things they passed. They got to the party and walked in. This was normal for them. Everyone moving out of their way outside and everything stopping as they entered. Literally, everything. The music the dancing, everything.
“Hey, we're here!” yelled Jamie, and everyone went insane. Yep, Alison and Jamie were the most popular girls in school, mainly because their parents were rich.
The party started back up again, a few brave people walked over and said hi, but most people just got out of their way.
“Hey you,” said a guy's voice from behind Alison.
“Sean,” said Alison, turning around.
“Didn't even see you at your own birthday party,” said Sean.
“I was busy being a hostess,” said Alison.
“Well, since you aren't a hostess now, you wanna dance?” asked Sean.
“Sure,” said Alison.
Cause you're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything,everything
You're all I want your all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want you're all I need, you're everything, everything.
You're everything,everything
You're all I want your all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want you're all I need, you're everything, everything.
The song the dancing, everything made her thing about Robin. The lighting, the people, and later, kissing Sean, made her think of Robin.
Did he really love Starfire?
If he did, what the heck was he doing kissing her?
Were the rumors about Starfire and Robin that she's heard on E today true?
Had Starfire found out yet?
Was she ticked?
Did both of them hate her?
Did all the titans know?
