The little plateau was rapidly approaching, when Tenchi decided now was the time. But how to do it? What to say. Tenchi almost panicked when they stepped onto the plateau and he wasn't prepared. Following his decision to do it now, Tenchi stopped and took Ryoko's hand to get her attention, and decided to improvise.

Ryoko, feeling the warmth of Tenchi's hand and the slight tug, stopped and turned to face Tenchi just as he schooled his expression. She was about to ask Tenchi why they stopped, when Tenchi spoke.

"Ryoko..I love you...I think I have for some time now..I.."

That was as far as Tenchi got before Ryoko glomped him and proceeded to express her gratitude in a long kiss. Tenchi was mildly relived that he didn't have to improvise more dialogue, and answered the kiss in kind.

It was an incredible feeling, standing in an embrace with the girl he loved in the warm summer sun. He hadn't felt so right since the time Ryoko returned after the battle of Jurai.

After a while and a couple of kisses, they simply sat down, Tenchi's arm on Ryoko's shoulders and Ryoko's arm around his waist. A few words and kisses were exchanged, but mostly they just held each other and basked in the other's presence.

It was an unknown amount of time later, that Sasami found them to tell that dinner was served.

Dinner itself had been a generally happy affair. Ayeka had already once cried for love lost when Tenchi left Jurai, and though she had held hope when returning and staying on Earth after the Kagato incident, she had known in her heart that she would never be more than family to Tenchi. Instead she took it upon herself to be happy for Tenchi and Ryoko (who was her friend, though she would never admit to it in public).

Everybody else had been genuinely happy to see Tenchi and Ryoko as a couple, with Noboyuki spending much time at the family shrine telling Achika how much their son had grown, with many tears of joy.

Currently, Tenchi and Ryoko was watching the sunset from the roof, Ryoko lying with her head in Tenchi's lap while Tenchi idly caressed her hair. Slowly the sky darkened, and stars became visible in the sky. After an indeterminate time of silent cuddling under the stars, Ryoko spoke.

"So, Tenchi, think you are ready for the ecchi? I am sure the reader didn't go to all that effort of reading an NC-17 fic to miss out on a lemon scene."

"I don't know. Saying yes would be Out Of Character for me, wouldn't it?"

"Well, maybe a bit, but you would enjoy it. I promise."

Tenchi sighs. "I just don't want this to be a stereotypical lemon. I would like it to mean something."

Ryoko looked at him in a reassuring manner.

"Don't worry, Tenchi. Even if just to please the voyeuristic readers, it will mean something to us. Besides, I think this lemon is far from stereotypical at this point."

"You may be right, Ryoko"

"So you do want to make love?"

[ The screen freezes, and Ecchi Half runs in, apologizing.
[ "We are very sorry for this interruption. It appears that an accident in
[ Washu's lab has breached the fourth wall. We are working to contain the
[ problem as I speak, and should be back to our scheduled lemon in no time."

[ Ecchi Half looks around nervously, and yells over his shoulder.
[ "Haven't you fixed it yet, Skuld?"
[ A red hammer bops Ecchi Half on the head and a voice from out of screen says.
[ "Don't rush it, things like this takes time" and then in a lower voice.
[ "Oh please Washu, are you sure I cannot take an extra look at your dimensional
[ cannon?"
[ "No, and I told you to stay away from those dimensional oscillating bullets."
[ "But they are sooo cool!"
[ Ecchi Half sweatdrops. Soon after Washu's voice declares that the 'problem'
[ has been contained.
[ Ecchi Half addresses the readers again as he leaves screen.
[ "Sorry for the interruption. We will be returning to your choice now"
