The Legend Of Zelda Fan Fiction ❯ The Legend of Zelda: The Spirit of Evil ❯ Zelda's Diary ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Two years have passed since the defeat of Ganondorf. It is early springtime and the land of Hyrule is filled with nature’s rich bounty and peace. Wherever I look, I see smiles and laughter. Although I am now Queen of Hyrule, I still will often look to the Six Sages for advice. Dear Impa often pays a visit and assures my worries. She says the people are very happy under the rule of their youngest yet Queen (For, I am only eighteen). I still prefer the title “Princess” though. I shall use the title “Queen” when I take a consort.
Link, has been wonderful to me. Traveling far and wide to make peace with any land, with the Master Sword still strapped to his back. Even the Gerudo, once an unfriendly tribe, are now our warriors. All of Hyrule is now united under the new banner. Link’s feelings for me have grown, and I to, am possibly beginning to feel more than just friendship towards him. He proposed the other day, yet I refused. I am not ready. I have asked him not to propose for another few years and he has agreed.
Even though the land is at peace, still there are a few evil men and women trying to pull me off the throne. So, when I travel, (which is often,) I go as Sheik. To those who ask, Sheik is my loyal shadow, a Sheikah. Few know I am Sheik, and I prefer it that way. The once diminishing race of Sheikah is now a large and powerful race. Still, they keep to their old way of secrecy. Few outside the palace ever see them. Impa is still High Seer for the tribe. She teaches the young ones of how the Sheikah race always has protected the Hylian rulers. Most of my castle guard, and all of my closest fighters, are Sheikah in disguise.
There is a bond between some of races that we are just beginning to understand. While the land of Hyrule has a great amount of races, humans we have found, live much shorter lives. Hylian, Sheikah, Zora, Goron, Kokiri, and the Gerudo are very different. All of them have great life spans. Raru has calculated that every five human years, all of those races age one year. I asked why I had grown so quickly. Rauru said the slowing of age does not start until age twenty. Impa was shocked. At the age of ninety, she believed her time was soon ending, despite her still powerful body. She was pleased and disappointed. The idea of living longer was appealing, but at the same time she longed for rest. We all agree it is a blessing and a burden. Ruto has advised us to warn our kind not to get involved with humans. Such a thing would be heart breaking. It will be painful enough just to watch people you know, pass through the gates of death. A lover, would be unbearable.
The Great Seal of the Sacred Realm has remained secure. The Sages keep watch over it, making sure it never breaks. They have moved it north of the castle, into the mountains, feeling it was no longer safe in the Temple of Time. It is held in place by their powerful magic and my Triforce power, for none of us are willing to risk letting it open again. Using just the Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina of time again, seems to be taking too much of a risk. They have moved the Temple of Light from the Sacred Realm as well. They placed it on a cloud and built around it, shielding the Chamber of the Sages. The temple was supposed to hold the great Triforce, but when Link and I tried to release the Triforce from our wrists, it would not come. The power still remains in us. The Sages pondered over this for a long time. Darunia, the Sage of Fire came up with a theory. Perhaps it was because Ganondorf still had the final piece, the Triforce of Power. He took it with him to the Sacred Realm, thus taking it out of our reach. We would not dare open the Seal in hopes of acquiring the final piece. Ganondorf might escape. The Sages, Link and I, we all believe he is still alive. Plotting, perhaps this very second, against us. But it is futile. Only the Six Sages or perhaps Link and I, ones who holds the Triforce, would be able to break the Seal...Ah! The sun’s rays have just ascended over Zora’s Falls. I expect Link to return this day. So I shall leave my quill and go make ready for him.
