Haruhi was very distressed...and to Kyon that was fairly often. She had nobody to be with on St. Valentines day. However, Kyon decided he'd be nice...he was going to expect something in return on White Day on March 14. Either way, he had an elaborate set of chocolates to give to Yuki and Mikuru as well. He gave his little sister some chocolates as well. Still, he saw Koizumi in the room before everybody else. Kyon felt good about the small amount of quiet he knew he was going to get. (as to why Kyon instead of Haruhi would give Chocolates today...is a very mysterious thing)

"Hey, I didn't expect to see you here so early," Koizumi then said.

"I know, but Haruhi definitely is in one of her moods," Kyon said. "I think I'll let Taniguichi take the heat today."

"That's definitely a good idea...delay the inevitable," Koizumi returned.

"Of course, this chocolate ought to soothe her over," Kyon then said.

"I was thinking the same thing, the same for Mikuru and Yuki," Koizumi then said with a smile.

"H-Hello," Mikuru then said nervously...with a batch of chocolates for Kyon and Koizumi, "is Miss Suzumiya in?"

"She is," Kyon said, "she's just in a foul mood today."

"That's not good!" Mikuru then whined.

'No matter her mood, it's never good,' Kyon thought.

"Hello," Yuki said, "here, take this."

"Thank you," Kyon and Koizumi then said...giving the girls their chocolates, "this is rather strange."

"Right...we are doing it the American way," Yuki then said softly.

Then...though the door, came Haruhi. She was pissed because she thought nobody cared to give her any Chocolate. Kyon had to wait until this time so he wouldn't have to deal with Ryoko Asakura, Kunikida, or Taniguichi. Still, he carefully gave Haruhi the chocolates. She then calmed down considerably. Everybody else gave her the chocolates as well. She then smiled, and gave everybody their chocolates. This was definitely a very strange cycle. Though, she made Mikuru, Yuki and Izumi leave the room. She wanted to talk to Kyon alone. He really was worried like all hell.

"What are you worrying about?" Haruhi asked.

"I really don't know what's going to happen," Kyon then admitted.

"Right, about that you and me are going on a date tonight...since Valentines day is on a Saturday this year," Haruhi then said.

"Well, I'll get some extra money together if that's the case," Kyon then said.

"You're actually accepting the date?"

"Sure, it'd be rude not to accept and offer to pay," Kyon then said.

"You're so old-fashioned," Haruhi returned.

"Plus, if every thing goes well, we might have a second date after that," Kyon then announced boldly.

"We'll see," Haruhi answered. However, she did have the grin of a kitten.

"Dress appropriately...because the place we're going to will be really nice," Kyon warned.

"That place is normally a kid's college account!" Haruhi exclaimed.

"Trust me," Kyon then said, "I'll manage."

Haruhi then nodded, and went into her thoughts. She wished that she and Kyon didn't have to pay for that high-end food. Then again she wished that Kyon would reconsider and take her to a burger joint. It isn't romantic, but it isn't obscenely expensive. Kyon then stopped, and he looked to Haruhi. He was reconsidering it very carefully. He decided to run it past Haruhi.

"How about we go to a place that doesn't break the bank?" Kyon asked.

"That'd be perfect!" Haruhi then chimed.

"Great I'll pick you up at 7:30 p.m. tonight," Kyon then said.

"That'll be perfect I'll be waiting!"

Kyon then smiled, as Haruhi called everybody back into the room. She then had the edict that the club members should find somebody to go out with on Valentines day, or tonight the night before. Koizumi volunteered to go with Yuki...leaving Mikuru out. Kyon suggested that she and her friend from her class go together. Haruhi agreed, and Mikuru was for one day spared from Haruhi's cosplay wrath. Thankfully, she dismissed the club early, and that gave Kyon ample time to get down the mountainous hill, and get ready for the date. Luckily all of the diners are on the low-lying area around North High school. Also, there's one in particular that was decently priced. Kyon made his way to Haruhi’s place, and she came out dressed. He nearly had a nose bleed. She had on a low-cut sun dress covered by a sweater. Kyon wore a black turtle neck with blue jeans.

"Good evening," Kyon said, "you are beautiful tonight."

"Hey, come on in!" Haruhi then said. "You're very handsome yourself."

"Thank you," Kyon then said, "I've found a place that's decently priced."

"You really do work fast," Haruhi then said.

"If we don't hurry the prime seats will be gone," Kyon then said.

"That's right, I know that place where you're taking about."

They then went to that diner, and they got he prime seats. Kyon had went into his emergency reserves to get the money so that he and Haruhi would have a good dinner. Haruhi wasn't expecting dinner, and a movie. She was expecting just dinner. The two then begin to talk and they discovered...they had a lot in common. Still, Kyon listened with great attention, and answered the screwball questions Haruhi hurled towards him. Then the waitress came and she got their orders. Haruhi didn't order the most expensive thing from the menu, and Kyon played it safe by getting the not-so-low end meals.

"Wow, Kyon you brought all of this money and yet we're not going to go all out," Haruhi then said flatly.

"I had no idea you wouldn't order at least one expensive thing on the menu," Kyon then returned.

"Right, I just have no tastes in the super expensive, as long as it tastes good."

"I'm glad I reconsidered my decision for dinner," Kyon then said.

"I've seen some of those places...a piece of carrot and two peas is not gourmet," Haruhi then said bluntly.

"That I understand, I'm glad I remembered my parents' anger over paying 50,000 yen on a dinner like that."

"Damn, this is only going to cost us about 4,800 yen with taxes."

"I know, but there's so much tonight besides that."

"Hey Kyon...what made you choose North High?"

"I chose it because I heard they had a high standard...then I met you and everybody and things have been interesting so far."

"I chose it because I wanted something different, and I guess I got what I asked for."

"It would be hell if we didn't meet each other then," Kyon then said bluntly.

"You're right about that...even Mikuru and Yuki are interesting."

The waitress then brought their food, and bowed. The two ate, and they talked about things on their mind. After dinner, they both decided to go to a love motel. Kyon knew he'd needed the extra money for an overnight stay. Thankfully, he didn't have to worry about his little sister, since she was with his parents out of town for the weekend. Also, he didn't want to risk getting surprised by sudden stains caught by his mother. They went to the room and for 3,340 yen...it made the room at the high-end hotel he stayed at on the school trip a bit cheap. Kyon then sat on the bed and it was soft. He also noticed that there was a box marked "With Complements" and some batteries there.

"Hey Kyon...why here?" Haruhi asked.

"Well, Haruhi you've been giving me erections in my sleep after the bunny suit incident," Kyon then said.

They decided they'll talk about it in the morning. The next morning Kyon then smiled (thankful he paid for the overnight, and turned in the key and the receipt). They left and went to his place to talk about cosplay ideas. They also talked about their ideas for their dates. Haruhi did make off with the box of toys and the batteries. She was going to use these when Kyon wasn't around. Once they made it back to his house...he didn't expect Koizumi, Mikuru, and Yuki to be there.

"Hey...what's this, an flash mob?" Haruhi asked.

"Nah we just came to tell you how our night went," Koizumi then said.

"Well, let's get everybody inside," Kyon then said.

"That would be fine," Yuki then offered.

"Does anybody notice a strange smell?" Mikuru asked.

"I don't know," Koizumi then said.

Yuki knew, and she nodded. She realized that Haruhi wanted Kyon alone for one reason. She'll let Haruhi bring it up later. As for Valentines day, Kyon did have something planned for that night as well. Taniguichi may have a grading system to try to get a girl...but Kyon actually did one better than his friend. He definitely would have a nose bleed once he hears of this night. However, Kyon doesn't kiss and tell...at all.
