The guys were trying to set up a plan how they were going to deliver believable reports to Auntie without it causing Sunako and Kyohei want to kill them when they got better.
“Do you really think they have decided on giving their relationship a try?” Yuki asked. “She was a real crab-ass this morning and really sounded like she hated Kyohei.”
“I'm fairly certain that they are trying to keep us in the dark.” laughed Ranmaru “The fighting between them was almost like watching 'Taming of the Shrew', it was all for show. I've never heard either of them talk that way, even at their angriest.”
“So, how should we handle this?” Takenaga asked.
“I think we should just watch carefully. I wouldn't confront them, they both have quite a temper. If we expose them before they are ready, we might not survive the resulting storm. You've seen what havoc they can wreak on their own. If they decide on a common enemy, well... it won't be pretty.” answered Ranmaru
The maids announced dinner and they ate in silence. They did not trust the maids quite yet. After dinner, they went to a local park incognito to set everything up.
“Ok you two, why am I in a dress again?” Yuki whined.
“There's an excellent reason. “ Takenaga answered, “It might confuse all the 'fan girls' around here. After what happened to Kyohei, we can't be too careful. Even if Sunako said that we are at lower risk of being attacked.”
“But I ALWAYS have to dress in drag! Why can't any of you guys do it? I'm starting to get a complex! I'm so lucky Machiko hasn't seen me like this. She'd get some serious doubts about my masculinity and she seems to be the only one close to me that sees me as 100% male. You guys don't!”
“Ah, well you make such a cute litte kitten!” purred Ranmaru. “If anyone thinks they know who we are, a woman in the midst of us will slow some of the 'fan girls' down.
They found a bench and ironed out a plan. They decided not say anything to the couple to antagonize them, but to slightly encourage any interaction they saw. It was agreed that Kyohei and Sunako, though they could be polar opposites, had a long future ahead of them. Even if the couple were oblivious to the possibility of it.
The situation with the landlady was completely different. She has time and money to figure things out on her own. That had become clear. It also had become clear that where Sunako was concerned, she would believe the more positive reports than negative ones. So they hatched a plan to stage pictures of the two in ways that could be interpreted either way so they did not have to downright lie to her. Now, they just had to think of poses to create.
“Ok.” Ranmaru said, “Being in the company of such a lovely 'lady' has got me wanting proper accompaniment. I haven't called on Tamao in a while, though she's a little too refined for what I'm in the mood for. She's chased a lot of my usual kittens away.” He called her and spoke for a few minutes. “Well, we'll see what happens, don't wait up for me.” He was off in a flash.
Meanwhile, at the hospital the doldrums were setting in. Sunako was getting downright antsy.
“DAMN! Why isn't there anything good on TV? I've been to all the NHK channels, Tokyo, Fuji and Asahi. Nothing!”
“I heard there's some Fox channels from the US that might feed your ghoulish side.” Kyohei suggested.
“How would you know?”
“Um...I've watched it. It's downright violent. There are 2 of them. One is simply Fox and the other is called Fox Crime. There's even a show called “Bones”. They are subtitled or dubbed in Japanese. Here, toss me the remote.”
Sunako tossed it over and he turned on “Law & Order: SVU” There was a criminal forensics show on after that. They spent the remainder of the afternoon watching the imported gore. The time went by quickly and before they knew it it was dinnertime. They ate dinner together discussing the gorier moments of the shows they had watched that day.
“I never thought you would find something like those shows before me!” Sunako gushed.
“Eh, I was just channel-surfing one night and found them. They are strangely compelling. I find them interesting to see how the little guy usually comes out on top. It's also amazing how little things can tip off the authorities.”
“ I like the re-enactments! I think they could be bloodier, but the violence makes up for it. Thank you for telling me about it, though you could have told me sooner.” added Sunako.
“ I think even 'Faces of Death' would be too tame for you.” Kyohei chuckled. “Do you have it? I've always been a little curious about it. I have a bit of a violent streak, so a little blood and guts may not be too bad.”
“Oh... I have the WHOLE series. You know...I'll be up and around a lot sooner than you so maybe I'll bring some of them here.” Sunako purred.
“Will you protect me from the ensuing bad dreams too?”
“We'll work something out, I'm sure. It depends on what happens while we are stuck here and where things go.” Sunako said with a smile. “There is no way we can keep up this facade. The guys have to know, they live with us and know us pretty well.”
“I may as well prepare myself for what the guys will do to me. I'm not cool like Takenaga, nor cute like Yuki, and thank goodness I'm not a player like Ranmaru. They are going to give me so much grief. Do they know how I ended up here?”
“I think they do, that's why I don't think this whole thing can be kept a secret.”
They came to an agreement that they wouldn't flaunt their relationship but be civil and if the guys ask They knew the guys would probably return in the morning, and with news of Auntie. So they prepared to settle down for the evening. The nurses came in and checked out the couple. Sunako's leg was healing without any complications. She wasn't really all that injured that badly, it was just if it wasn't watched closely and something happened she could have died.
Kyohei, on the other hand, was a vision in blacks, blues and greens. He was still glad that he wasn't completely up and around, because he wasn't ready to use a mirror. His facial swelling had come down significantly and he could see well. His shorn blonde hair was spiky against the pillow. The broken bones and internal injuries weren't as painful as they had been, though the pain medication worked wonders. The only place that worried him was the testicular injury. This was probably the first time in his life seeing swelling down there was a bad thing. He had no idea how bad the damage was, nor did the doctors. The catheter was going to be there until the swelling went down. He really hoped that Sunako would be gone before they removed it. That could be rather embarrassing, though she's seen him in the nude a few times for brief moments. Come to think about it, every time she's seen IT, there has always been a huge nosebleed and a dead faint. For that reason alone, with her condition, that wouldn't be good.
“Geez!” He thought, “Since when am I so considerate? Since you decided to let your feelings show, baka!”
He pondered his thoughts as he drifted to sleep, while Sunako did the same.
