We started school with her. Getting her ready was a joke. The prissy boys plucked her into oblivion, so her face was all puffy. Because she still refused to cut her bangs, they put them in a funny ponytail on her head. She looked like a sick bunny.
At school there were `ghost' sightings everywhere. They all turned out to be Sunako lurking somewhere. Takenaga tried to help her by offering her a lotion for her puffiness. News Flash… If you didn't do that to her she wouldn't have been so puffy. They are still pestering her about her bangs. They better stop. I sense a violent streak in her and while I'm not afraid of her, she could probably snap Yuki in two. While her bangs may have hidden her, now the whole school is curious about her. They are having a contest to see who can get a picture of her face. The cash prize is really nice, but to cross her… nope.
We asked her why she wouldn't cut her hair or show her face. It seems that she once cared what people thought about her appearance. In Middle School, she told a guy that she liked him and he cut her down cold. He told her he could never like an ugly girl. She then decided that caring was worth it. I thought she was tough, I guess she wasn't always. So after that, she just tuned out and tried to be inconspicuous. It seems to have back fired on her. She was mobbed by people trying to get her picture. I know how ugly mobs can be, so I wrapped her in a nearby curtain, wrapped her up and pulled her to me. She sank right into me and was so deathly quiet. When I checked on her, she was all sweaty and flushed. I had some fleeting feelings on other ways to get her that way, but this wasn't the time. She's not that ugly. She looked up at me, got a nosebleed and promptly fainted. We took her home after that.
I `took care' of the people who orchestrated the photo contest, so she could return to school in some peace. It would have been so easy to cut her hair in her sleep, but it's her decision ultimately. The next day, a group of trouble making girls found this out the hard way. They had cornered her and tried to cut it by force. I walked in on it. They all denied any wrongdoing, and while the ringleader was waving her hands around explaining herself, she cut my face with the scissors. It didn't really hurt, but Sunako went berserk. Not a single girl was standing when she was done. I was really impressed. In a sudden move, she cut out some bangs in her hair, and demanded that the girls apologize to me. We then left to go home, with her in a daze.
It seems that Sunako is fiercely loyal. That is a valuable trait. Now, if she could only look at us without a nosebleed. She freaked out at home about cutting her hair, she doesn't recall cutting it. We all reassured her that she was pretty, and found positive things to say to her. I guess it's like she's lost her armor now and she feels naked. Well, we have a face. It's a start.
