Trigun Fan Fiction ❯ Delicate Butterfly ❯ Birth of Life ( Chapter 10 )
Aerith's pregnancy was no shocking news to the Gun-Ho-Guns. Dominique was especially jealous and angry with Aerith though.
~8 months later~
"How dare that little girl provide him with a child!" Dominique hissed as Aerith lumbered by. It's already been eight months since they found out she was pregnant. She was due any day now. Dominique was about to scold Aerith about something out of the blue when she caught the watchful eye of Legato. His hand was up under his chin as he watched Aerith move toward Zazari.
Legato then sat down in a nearby chair with Knives. Knives was very interested on how his grandchild will turn out.
"With your strength and her powers," Knives mumbled. Legato agreed.
"Zazari?" Aerith asked the youngest Gun-Ho-Guns member. He looked up and gave her a smile.
"Hmm?"
"Could you help me to my room please?" Aerith asked in a tired voice. Zazari stood right up. He held out a hand and Aerith took it gratefully.
"Thank you. I feel so heavy, like an old lady," Aerith said with a chuckle. Zazari looked up at her as they walked to her room.
"Ummm, do you feel the kid inside you?" Zazari asked sheepishly. Aerith smiled.
"Sometimes I do. When it kicks,"
"Ouch,"
"Well not really ouch, but..,"
When they reached the room, Zazari helped Aerith in bed and pulled the covers over her. Aerith gave him a tired smile.
"Thanks again," she whispered before closing her eyes. Zarari slipped out of the room and closed the door as quite as he could manage. He began to walk but then abruptly stopped in front of Dominique. She was glaring at him.
"What do you want you old hag?" Zazari spat at her. Aerith could hear him.
"Were is she?" Dominique hissed. Zarari stood protectively in front of Aerith's room door.
"Aerith is resting. You don't need to see her. Go bother someone else," Zazari said with a slight grin. Dominique brandished her gun. Zazari wasn't fazed.
"Ooo wow. It's a gun," he said sarcastically. Zazari pulled out his own gun.
"See, I got one too Dominique,"
Zazari pointed it at her head.
"Now, go away," Zazari demanded. Dominique cocked her gun.
"Make me you runt!"
The door knob turned and Aerith hurried out. She stood protectively in front of Zazari.
"What do you want girl?" Dominique asked. Aerith folded her arms.
"Leave now. Leave Zazari alone," Aerith demanded in a calm tone. Dominique chuckled. She aimed her gun at Aerith's abdomen.
"You really think I'm going to listen to you?"
Aerith held her ground, despite Zazari's nudging to get her out of the way. She glared at Dominique.
"That's enough,"
Dominique turned around and faced Knives. She froze. Zazari came over to her side.
"Leave. The both of you," Knives demanded. Dominique and Zazari nodded and left as fast as possible. His eyes settled on Aerith, who flinched at his gaze.
"Daughter," Knives said casually.
"Father," Aerith replied. Knives gestured toward downstairs.
"Why don't you go out and get fresh air? I would be good for you,"
Aerith cocked an eyebrow. She unfolded her arms.
"Yes father. Let me just change,"
Knives turned on his heel and left. Aerith went into her room.
Why did he ask me that? Was he being nice? Nah…
Aerith searched through her drawer to find a maternity shirt and some pants. She couldn't find one so she put on a maternity navy-blue dress. It was quite comfortable.
Sitting on the end of her bed, she tried to put her shoes on but she couldn't reach.
"Gah! I can't reach!" Aerith sighed as she lay back on her bed. She put a hand on her swollen belly and gently stoked it once.
"Cant wait until you come out," she giggled. The door quietly opened, and then shut.
"Hmm?" Aerith looked at the door. Legato stood with his arms casually folded. Unfolding them, Legato walked over to the bed. Aerith tried to sit up but Legato pulled her back down. His hands slinked their way to the end of her dress and pulled it up under her breasts. He gazed at her belly with a very slight grin.
Aerith watched as he stroked her belly. Legato knelt down on his knees and put an ear to Aerith's stomach. Since Legato was so tall, he was practically leaning over the bed.
"Hmm,"
"What is it?" Aerith asked in a whisper. Legato lifted his head up and looked at Aerith.
Maybe I shouldn't of asked…
Legato nodded his head slowly. He pulled down the dress and lifted Aerith up off the bed. She didn't know how, but her feet some how slipped right into her shoes. Legato left.
~In a book store~
Aerith wandered around many stores. Walking around made her feel better, but she felt so big compared to some women she saw shopping. She eventually ended up in a book store. She stayed clear of the "New mothers" section. So instead, she found a science section.
There were books on chemistry, physiology, and many more.
"What's this?"
Aerith picked up a book called "Galaxies and their planets". She flipped through the pages and stopped on one called the `solar system'. She began to read:
Solar System
Planet numbers: 9
Planet(s) with life: Earth
Signs of life: Mars, Jupiter, low chance for Pluto
Number of suns: 1
Planets (according closest to sun):
Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto
Aerith flipped a couple of pages until she came to a page about Earth.
"Says here that Earth is half the size of planet Gunsmoke," Aerith mumbled. She shut the book.
"Boring,"
Even thought Aerith is technically eight years old, her growth injection gave her a boost of knowledge. So she has the smarts of a collage student.
Aerith turned and bumped into another woman.
"I'm sorry Miss!"
Aerith recognized that voice.
"Milly?!"
The woman turned and it was Milly. She seemed not to pay attention to Aerith's face, but her belly.
"M-Miss Aerith?!" Milly stepped back. Then ran out the door.
"Milly?!" Aerith called. People in the store stared. Aerith ran out.
Aerith ran and ran. Now the ones she loved were running away. She wanted to run away.
Aerith stopped in a park and sat on a bench, crying.
"Why can't I go back?! Back to when I was little?! Back when I was happy?!" Aerith wept.
Back into the arms of my mama and papa…
Just then, a pair of strong, gentle arms wrapped around her shoulders. One of the arms was metallic.
"V-Vash? (hick)"
The hug tightened.
"Sh-sh-sh," Cooed Vash. He let go and looked at Aerith with gentle eyes. He wiped away a tear. Aerith suddenly stood. More tears fell.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-" Aerith was stopped when Vash put a hand on her stomach.
"He took you away, then forced your body to grow ten years ahead of it, and then forced you to sleep with him, and got you pregnant," Vash said calmly.
"Knives will just have to die Vash. He's a perverted father, getting his daughter pregnant," Nick said as he appeared from behind a tree. Vash frowned.
"Yeah but Rem-"
"Vash,"
"Hmm?"
Aerith swallowed hard. She stepped back from him. Vash watched.
"Knives isn't the father of my baby,"
"Then who is?"
Once again, she swallowed hard.
"L-Legato,"
Aerith watched their reaction. Vash's eyes widened. But before he could say anything, Aerith felt an almighty contraction in her stomach. Vash went to her side.
"What's wrong?! What hurts?!" he asked in panic. Nick snatched her in his arms and ran to the jeep they came in.
"MOVE!" Nick yelled to Vash, who then scrambled to his feet and ran to them. They were off.
***Author's notes:
Hikari: Allo! I'm not exactly sure if Vash and company live on Earth millennia from now or they live on the planet Gunsmoke. I herd the rumor of Gunsmoke on a site. Tell me if I'm wrong so I can change it. Thanks! Ciao!
