(Trigun doesn't belong to me and I have no money so please don't sue! This goes with my alternate universe fic, 'An Alternate Ending', where I took the end of Trigun and re-tooled it. Now, I'm going further back to highlight Milly and Wolfwood's relationship I only hinted at in the other story.)

Part One: First Kiss

Wolfwood watched her as she walked away from Meryl and Vash. She wanted to give them some privacy since they hadn't seen each other in so long, he could tell that just by looking. He turned to continue walking away but something made him stop just past a large rock. A few moments later, she was standing right next to him and smiling.

" Hello Mr. Priest, " She said timidly.

" Hey there, big girl. How have you been? " Wolfwood asked. " It's been awhile, huh? "

Milly nodded, " Yeah. I didn't think I would ever get to see you again. "

" I thought that for a long time but when I found needle noggin I knew you two wouldn't be too far behind, " Wolfwood smiled. " The three of you seem like a set that can't be separated. "

Milly nodded, " Yeah. We were the only ones qualified to do the job so here we are! " She chirped.

" Those bandits didn't rough you up too much, did they? " Wolfwood recalled the girls had been on the sand steamer that had plowed into the satellite station. It had been an amazing stroke of luck that saved them the trouble of searching for Vash themselves.

Milly shook her head, " No. They didn't know what hit them. It was quite a surprise for those guys when Meryl fired my stun gun with her feet, " She giggled. " The guy she shot first said he had seen white angels. "

Wolfwood couldn't help but laugh at the thought of how Meryl reacted when she realized she had flashed her panties at someone. To him, Milly seemed more the type to do such a thing after one too many drinks. She had done so in May City right before Meryl hustled her from the room before she had a chance to do more.

Wolfwood recalled it vividly for he hadn't even gotten buzzed when the big girl started taking off her clothes. She was surprisingly feminine underneath her mannish clothes and he couldn't help but notice. Vash was well on his way to being plastered by that time and he doubted if he remembered just how much of a show they had gotten.

" Mr. Priest? " Milly said, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

" Oh! Sorry about that… I got to thinking about something. Did you say something? " He had gotten lost in the memory.

" No, I didn't. You said you had to leave, " Milly looked down at the ground. She chewed her lip before looking at him again. " Do you really have to? "

Wolfwood nearly dropped the Punisher Cross. " Well, I have stuff I need to do… why do you ask? "

" Oh… I was sort of hoping you could hang around… you know… and catch up on everything, " Milly blushed, looking away again.

Wolfwood reached over and hooked a finger under Milly's chin. He made her face him as he got closer. A little smirk crossed his lips as he looked into her eyes and examined the expression in them. " You really missed me? " He whispered.

Milly gulped and shivered because he had hit the nail on the head. Meryl wouldn't admit it but she had missed Vash a lot too. The four of them seemed to fit together the scant few times they had been in each other's company. " Or did you miss being around Vash? " Wolfwood added, his smirk fading just a little bit.

" I… I… missed both of you… " Milly's voice trembled a little as Wolfwood brushed her lower lip with his thumb lightly. Her voice came out as a bare whisper when she finished, " But I missed you the most. "

Wolfwood brought his lips to hers and kissed her gently. She shut her eyes and felt energy surge within her as she tried to respond but the kiss seemed to be over with before she knew it. He was still very close, his lips brushing hers as he said, " I missed you too, honey. "

Milly felt like her heart was going to beat right out of her chest when he kissed her again. " Milly? " Meryl called and Wolfwood pulled away. " Where did you go Milly? "

Milly went to call to Meryl but Wolfwood stopped her. " Let me get away from here first then call to her. "

" I thought you were going to stay, " Milly looked confused.

Wolfwood shook his head, " I never said that but I promise to find you all once I get my business taken care of. Okay? "

Milly nodded, " I guess so but remember… you promised. "

Wolfwood smiled, " I will. "

" Milly? Where are you hiding? " Meryl called again as Wolfwood started to walk away.

" Milly? Come out! I want to go find some place to stay cause I'm tired! Where are you? " Vash called then a slap cracked the air.

Vash whimpered, " OW! What did you do that for? I'm hurt enough as it is! "

" I swear! You can be so selfish! " Meryl huffed.

Milly looked at Wolfwood's retreating form and noticed he was giving her a thumbs up as he continued to walk away. She took a deep breath, " I'm over here, you two! "

Part Two: By The Light Of The Moons

Wolfwood sat on the ledge that overlooked the desert below as he guarded the camp and finished off a bottle of whiskey. It had been one day since the SEEDS ship had fallen and Vash was no fun to be around. He seemed to blame himself for everything and was wallowing in his despair. He was being a real downer and his mood was starting to infect the others as well.

Milly was more quiet than usual while Meryl had stopped hitting Vash quite so much and Wolfwood was trying to fight the guilt that was eating at him. He felt responsible for the ship falling. If it had been anyone's fault, it was his for leading The Gung-Ho Guns there. ~They would all kill me if they knew the truth… ~ He thought, pitching the bottle into the night before he lit a cigarette.

He heard someone coming up from behind him and reached for his gun. He turned quickly and aimed. Milly jumped back, frightened as her eyes went to the gun and the blanket around her shoulders tightened. Wolfwood lowered the weapon, " Sorry… "

" It's okay, " Milly whispered, loosening her grip on the blanket just a little. " I can't sleep and I thought you might like some company. "

" Oh, " Wolfwood put the gun back in his jacket. " Why can't you sleep? "

Milly shrugged, " I just can't. "

" Oh. "

Milly pulled her knees to her chest and hugged them as she stared out across the desert below. " So… "

" So what? " Wolfwood asked.

" That ship we saw outside of New Oregon… that was one of the ships that brought our ancestors to this planet… right? " Milly said quietly.

" That's what Vash tells me, " Wolfwood took a drag off of his cigarette. ~That's the truth actually… and now they have to fight just like our ancestors had to. ~

" I have always seen the remains around the major cities but it was strange to see one not battered by sand, " Milly looked at Wolfwood and furrowed her brow when she noticed him shiver. " Aren't you cold? "

Wolfwood looked away, " I can handle it… it's only a little chilly. "

Milly scooted closer and put part of the blanket around his shoulders, " I don't want you to get sick. "

Wolfwood was surprised by her action but pulled the blanket so it covered him a little more. " Most of the towns in that region we're heading to have been mysteriously abandoned. You know that don't you? "

" Yeah. I heard about it over the satellite, " Milly sighed. " So we have to be extra careful because there won't be anyone close by to help us if we get sick or hurt once we get there. "

Wolfwood nodded, " Exactly. I would suggest that you and Meryl take that into consideration before you go any further with us. "

Milly looked at him, her expression a mixture of bewilderment and hurt. She blinked, " What are you saying? You don't want us along anymore? "

Wolfwood shook his head and took one last drag from the cigarette before flicking it away. " That's not it, honey. I'm just saying that it could get very dangerous and I don't want you two to get hurt. "

" Oh. But we have our job to do, " Milly said. " Meryl won't abandon her job for anything. "

" She's a stubborn girl, " Wolfwood sighed. " I'm afraid that something could happen that Vash and I will be unable to help with. I don't know if I could live with myself if you girls got… "

Milly looked him in the eyes, " Mr. Priest? "

Wolfwood shook his head, " Milly, you two could very well die if you get hurt so bad Vash and I can't help. "

Milly slipped an arm around Wolfwood's waist and laid her head on his shoulder. She sighed, " Meryl and I won't get hurt, Mr. Priest. We'll try to be careful. "

Wolfwood let one of his arms go around Milly's waist as he leaned his head on top of hers. " You promise you'll be careful and stay out of the way if things get too dangerous? "

Milly nodded, " I promise. "

He lifted his head and she looked up at him. He moved closer and kissed her nose. She tilted her head up and he covered her mouth with his. He pulled away and shrugged the blanket off, putting his other arm around Milly.

She moved with him as he eased her so she was facing him and he kissed her again, brushing her lower lip with his tongue. She parted her lips, returning the action shyly and was mildly surprised; he didn't taste as bad as she thought a smoker would. She could taste a hint of liquor and wondered if he had been drinking. She also wondered why he hadn't shared with her but that thought vanished as he eased his tongue into her mouth slowly.

She moaned as the hand by her waist moved up until it rested in the middle of her back and he pressed his chest closer to hers. She tried to copy the way he was kissing her but he pulled away for air, panting. His eyes were intense in the moonlight as he scanned her face. She looked at him, her eyes wide and her skin flushed.

He stared at her, drinking in her unique beauty. It was true she was big girl but he didn't care because she was beautiful to him. He moved closer again, kissing her with more intensity as he urged her to lie back by pressing his chest tighter to hers. He could feel her breasts pressed against him, their soft warmth making its way through the fabric of his jacket.

~All she has on is her pajamas and probably her underwear… ~ he thought to himself. ~It would just be so easy… ~

She was pliant and let him push her gently the ground. He rose up a little and took a breath of air before his lips touched down on her neck, making her whimper as he kissed the sensitive flesh close to her ears. He moved lower, his hands coming up to cup the sides of her breasts and he felt her shiver.

He moved over her, straddling his legs around hers. Her hands grasped the blanket when he moved his hands across her bosom to the buttons of her top, a tiny moan escaping her lips when his thumbs lingered on her nipples for a moment. He started to unbutton the top, his lips tasting each bit of flesh that was exposed to him the instant it became visible. It wasn't long until her chest and torso were exposed to his hungry eyes save for what was covered by her bra.

He rose up to see how his touch had affected her and was pleased. Her chest heaved as she took short breaths, her blue eyes wide in anticipation as she awaited his next kiss or touch. Two rock hard peaks jutted under the white lace of her bra almost as if they would rip the delicate fabric at any moment. She quivered beneath him, the blanket under her gripped in her fingers so tight her knuckles were white. A wave of lust washed over him as he admired the beautiful mess he was solely responsible for.

He regained a little control and wanted to make sure she was still okay with what was happening. She hadn't made any motion that said she was uncomfortable so he looked into her eyes. They were wide… dilated and looked a little uneasy. He leaned down to her face and kissed her lightly before whispering, " It's okay if you want to stop… "

Milly shook her head slowly, " Not yet… " She whispered breathlessly.

He moved back just slightly and his hands went to his jacket. He undid the buttons that held it closed before going to the buttons of his shirt, glancing at Milly to see her reaction. She gasped when the cloth of his shirt tickled her belly then just stared when his chest was exposed to her. " Do you like? " He asked huskily.

" Uh huh, " Milly breathed. " Wow. "

" Is it like you imagined? " Wolfwood whispered.

" Even better, " Milly replied.

He smiled, happy that she had thought about such a thing and kissed her neck again before going to her chest, peppering her bra with kisses as he nuzzled his face against her breasts. He rose up, planting one hand on the ground as he reached for the single clasp that held the garment closed with the other. His fingers had barely touched it when he heard a noise from below the ridge and he cussed. " Damn it, " He muttered.

" What? " Milly whispered.

Wolfwood sat back on his bent legs, wincing slightly as his pants constricted around the situation that had developed just a little south of his waist. He ran a hand through his hair and shook his head, " I just heard something… it could be anything. "

" I heard it too, " Milly said, her voice sounding a little miserable. " Do you think we should go check it out? "

" I'm the one on guard duty, " Wolfwood muttered. " Sit up and I'll help you with your shirt… "

Milly sat up the best she could and Wolfwood buttoned her top quickly. " What should I do, Mr. Priest? " She asked as he got to his feet.

" Go back to camp and make sure the others are okay. I'll go check and I'll come back when I find out what it was. "

Milly nodded and Wolfwood helped her to her feet. He gathered up the blanket and placed it around her shoulders before she went back towards the cave the others were sleeping in. Wolfwood watched her for a moment, mentally kicking himself as he turned to walk down the path. ~I could have had her! ~ He thought to himself as he tried to walk in a way that wouldn't cause him too much pain.

He was about halfway down the path when the disturbance made its identity known. Wolfwood pulled his gun and aimed it at the same time the other man aimed. " Who are you? " He called to him.

" Lower your piece, son. I'm a cavalry officer, " The man replied.

Wolfwood eyed the man, his eyes settling on a badge that shined in the moonlight. " How do I know that? " He motioned at the badge. " You could have stolen that. "

" I didn't. Now, lower your piece. "

Wolfwood let the gun down but he was still ready to fire. " What do you want? "

" I'm just patrolling the area, " The cavalry man said. " I'm keeping an eye out for bandits. I also heard a rumor that Vash The Stampede was in the area. "

" Oh, " Wolfwood muttered. " You're the only other person I've seen since I left New Oregon. "

The cavalryman looked Wolfwood over, noticing he was in a bit of a flustered state and that his jacket as well as his shirt was open. Moonlight glinted off of one of Wolfwood's cufflinks and the cavalryman brushed away his previous thoughts of what Wolfwood had been up to. He motioned to the cross, " What are you doing out here preacher man? "

" I'm a traveling priest, " Wolfwood said. " I couldn't afford a hotel room so I decided to sleep out here tonight. "

" Ah, I see. Be careful, okay? Bandits like to travel at night and they don't have much respect for religious folks. I don't want to be finding your body in the morning, got that? " The cavalryman said, a forceful edge to his voice.

" You won't. I'm pretty capable of taking care of myself, " Wolfwood assured the man.

" Goodnight then, Mr. Preacher, " The cavalryman said and went on his way.

Wolfwood waited for the man to leave before he leaned against the cliff wall and put the gun away. Once it was in it's holster, he got a cigarette and lit it. He took a couple of drags but all he could think about was her… he could have had her. He groaned because the pain in his groin was starting get unbearable.

He sucked down the cigarette and headed back for the camp, hoping Milly was still awake. When he reached the cave, he frowned. Milly was fast asleep and right next to Meryl. He wouldn't be able to wake the big girl up without disturbing her little friend so he turned and left.

There were plenty of places he could have some privacy and Vash's turn for guard duty would be coming up soon so he went to where the infamous outlaw was sleeping. Wolfwood tapped his shoulder with his boot, " Wake up, needle noggin. "

" What? " Vash muttered, not moving.

" It's your turn, " Wolfwood said.

Vash rolled over and looked at his pocket watch, frowning. " It's not my turn for another ten minutes. Can't I sleep for another ten minutes? "

Wolfwood growled, " I have to take a piss, okay? Excuse me if I didn't want to leave the camp unattended while I took care of my personal needs. "

Vash muttered something about Wolfwood drinking too much and sat up. He yawned and reached for his coat. Wolfwood stopped him, " Just go without it. It's not too cold out there and there's a cavalry patrol out there. "

" Oh… if you say so, " Vash grumbled and got to his feet. He put on his boots before leaving the cave. Wolfwood waited a few agonizing moments before leaving the cave again to find a place to take care of himself.
