*Milly washing dishes at the bar*

~Two long years she thought, it's been two years since poor Meryl was shot, Milly quietly thought to herself. They worked at a bar by their home, but after Meryl's death they were a waitress short. Pay was good; enough to keep her house and live her life. Everyday was just another day; Milly was always very empty but never let it show. The old women who owned the bar, Lara, said that she never figured out why Milly never visited Meryl's grave. Lara had tried to convince her once but she always replied, "It would just bring more pain, no use drifting to the past." She dreamed of the incident every day and every night.

~Flashback~

Milly? MILLY!!! Are you kidding, still in bed? We're going to be late for work Meryl yelled. Oh, come on…just a few more minutes Milly whined. Fine I'll just have to force you up Meryl sneakily said. She went into the kitchen and grabbed a pot, filled it with ice cold water and sneaked back in Milly's room. I'm warning you now! Meryl said. Five….four…..three….two…..one!!! And with that Milly was soaked and finally awake! Meryl smirked and left the room with the last remark of "I warned you!!!" They got dressed and ready and were soon off to work.

As they walked toward the bar they heard screams from behind them and ran to hide behind three large barrels that were on the sidewalk. A tall man, wearing a black raincoat stepped forward.

"Where is he?" he said in a low voice. "Where is Vash the Stampede!!" he yelled. He had grabbed a young girl and was holding her hostage. "You let her go" Meryl screamed. "You shouldn't put the innocent into such a dangerous matter," she stated. He looked at her with eyes that seemed as though they looked right through her. He dropped the girl and started to walk toward Meryl. "What business do you have ordering me around" he smirked. "Vash is not around" Meryl said. He eyed her and asked how she knew Vash. Meryl didn't answer.

He walked up to her where he was only two feet away from her. She could see his face now, tall, dark and handsome fit his description perfectly. He had long dark blue hair that was covered by a snakeskin hat with tiny metal skulls on it. His face was like something out of a model book, tanned with dark green eyes that could mesmerize any young lady. That is, any young lady that didn't have the stamina and nerve as a bull like Meryl did. He noticed her reaction, emotionless; he had no effect on her.

Slightly surprised he narrowed his eyes and said once again, "where is he, where is Vash the stampede?" "He's not here, go look for him somewhere else," she said. He made low and evil snicker. "And how would I know your not hiding him from me, huh?" She stayed emotionless yet he could feel pain and sorrow from the look in her eyes. He knew it then, she knew Vash, something even between them perhaps? Meryl spoke, "he left this town three years ago". Immediately, changing the subject the man held up her chin with his finger. "You knew him, your eyes give you away. What relation do you have with him? Tell me!" Meryl pushed his hand away. "I see" he smirked. "Well then, you will have to do" he said.

Confused, Meryl took caution and stepped back. He pulled out a large gun, surprisingly similar to Vash's and shot her without warning. Eyes wide with terror, Milly ran from behind the barrels to Meryl's aid. "My revenge has been taken, but not all, this is only the beginning, Vash!" He said. "This girl knew you and cared for you…" As he rambled on Milly was shocked, how does he know this?, why does he want revenge? Vash never hurt anybody. Milly started to cry. "I take her as you took from me" he finally finished and started walking away. Still in shock Milly ran up to him and started to punch him mindlessly, he knocked her off with one blow and left her unconscious.

The next day was Chaos, Meryl was said to be dead and was to be buried the next day and Milly had a head ache that could be measured on the rector scale. No one came, only Lara, the bar owner and Milly were there. As they set her in the coffin, Milly ran off and soon returned with Meryl's Derengers (can't spell, but it's those weird single shot gun's that Meryl uses) She set them in with her body. They soon buried her and left as if nothing happened.

~End Flashback~

Milly became depressed and didn't talk much after that. She woke up everyday, went to work, came home, didn't eat much and was soon off to bed. One night after work Milly was walking toward her house. She sighed, Friday she thought. The weekend will do me good she told herself. As she walked up to the door, she noticed that it was halfway open. She walked up next to the house and peeked through the window, looking inside she saw a large, silver gun and familiar, yellow glasses on the kitchen table. She walked in to see none other then Vash the Stampede himself. He greeted her with a smile and asked where was Meryl. "Probably off doing her night prowl, checking the town for any criminals" he laughed. Milly was on her knees and crying in an instant. Shocked by her reaction he was immediately by her side comforting her. "What's wrong?" he asked. "What happened?" She looked at him with tear-filled eyes and slowly said, "she's gone"…Vash gave her a confused look. "She's gone, she's gone, she's gone, she's gone, she's gone!!!" Milly was frantically shaking her head and screaming Meryl's name. Vash sat her down and got her a tissue. "Ok, now calm down and tell me what happened, where's Meryl? Did she leave?" Milly silently shook her head. Milly slowly opened her mouth and with tears dripping down her cheeks she said, " He killed her…she's…dead…." With that statement Vash was silent with eyes wide open with shock.

When Vash left he new he had felt something toward Meryl. He came back just to tell her how he felt, he new she loved and cared for him and wanted to tell her that he returned the feeling. Right when he got the courage to tell her he finds she's dead. (Some luck huh? lol) Silent, both of them just sat there, this went on till morning.

The Next morning everything was still quiet until Vash asked, "How did it happen". Milly knew she had to tell him, after all the man who shot Meryl was looking for him. Something about revenge right? Milly thought to herself. She turned around to see a very pain-stricken and hurt Vash. She told him everything.

Sort of a flashback, not really, but this is what happened to Meryl after they buried her. (KUKUKUKUKU….oh sorry O.o)

-----2 months after Meryl's "death"-----

*At the grave yard*

Meryl lay in her coffin, (IT'S ALIVE!!!! O.o???) "where am I?" she weakly said. "What is this place?" With blurry vision she looked around and could make out where she was. She didn't remember anything. Her mind, blank… She started to kick the top of her coffin. Ever since Vash's "killings" (that wasn't really his fault) they didn't dig any of the graves that deep, too much work they thought. (lazy ass bums!!! ? -_- aaah?….yeah, the story…hehe)

She kicked harder and harder at the top of the coffin till she kicked it right off. She had no idea where she was, where this newfound strength came from and WHY THE HELL WAS SHE BURIED???? She climbed out of her coffin only to see her killer standing right in front of her. (*hint hint* she doesn't remember anything….including her killer….) "your finally up" he said in a cheery yet creepy tone. "who are you" Meryl asked. "Oh, that's right we were never properly acquainted. My name is Rey and you are?" he asked.

She froze…she didn't know who she was. What was her name? Where she came from? How this man new she would be here? Why she was buried? She didn't know any of it. Realizing this and happy of the outcome, he walked over to her and hugged her close. "Your probably wondering aren't you, scared perhaps? Do not bother, everything is going as I planned, you will be safe with me" With that she was silent, she felt secure and comfortable, like this was where she was meant to be. In his arms…

The next day she woke up Meryl found herself in a warm bed….but wait the warmth wasn't from the bed, it was from a thing, it was taller then her and had one…ARM? AROUND HER? She looked at herself, she had nothing but an oversized shirt and underwear on. She slowly motioned off the bed but the arm held her tight. She looked over to see that man, what was his name she thought? Roy? No, Rey, that's it Rey! She moved to where she was almost laying over him.

Something about this man she thought, so familiar. Before she could move away he was awake and holding her wrists so she couldn't move. "Did I startle you?" He asked in a sly tone. Nervous and scared at the same time just looked away from him. "You know, now that I look at you, you're so beautiful up close," he said. She hadn't noticed but her hair was longer, it reached up to her waist as Rey's did. Her eyes were now a dim silver color. Her body was perfectly toned and well shaped.

Still afraid and shaking Meryl looked down at him and realized…HE'S NOT WEARING A SHIRT? Well at least he had boxers on she thought. He had a very muscular and built body, she looked up at his face, warm and kind. His long dark blue hair scattered on the pillow, eyes locked on her. She looked back at his chest. With this she looked at his scars. Tons, thousands of cuts, holes from bullets and bruises everywhere. She felt sorrow and pain build inside her. She lowered her head and her hair fell, like a purple curtain surrounding her face and scattered on his chest. She softened. Noticing this and surprised by it he loosened his grip on her wrists.

She let one of her hands trace over one of his big scars. Shocked by her actions and sad eyes, he grabbed her back and hugged her. Both silent. Both content. As if meant to be. He whispered into her ear "I'm sorry…" Before she could do anything she felt needle go into her back and she blacked out. "I'm so sorry" he said again and hugged her close. He snapped back into reality, why? He thought. Why, what is this girl to me. He set her beside him and looked at her closed eyes. The shot she had given her made her gain her memory back, but not "her" memory. An artificial memory, one to make as cold as ice, to make her hate as he hated. The shot also gave her knowledge of her strengths. She would mentally learn how to use any weapon and have a thirst for blood.

He somewhat regretted doing it to her. Something about her, so warm and close. Her expression of sorrow and pain when she touched his wounds. He felt as though she knew him, just by looking at him, his wounds, like she could feel everything he'd gone through and wanted to cry for him. He really didn't know, maybe it was one of the effects in the shots. He remembered where they met, that day when he was looking for Vash, for his revenge.

~Flashback~ (Ya gotta love these things!)

That day when he shot her, he didn't kill her and he knew it. He had shot her with a dart that made her lose her memory and her conscious. The shot's impact made a small splatter of red paint similar to blood. Where he shot her, it was all so perfect, right on a pressure point that made her seem as though she was dead. It would slow her pulse so much that she could even feel death itself. No trace of life could be found. Everything was according to plan. They would say she was dead and burry her. The effect of the pressure point would were off and she would free herself of her grave, the effect was to last at least for a month, but that all depended if she was willing to let go of her past memories. Surprisingly it took two months or so and he waited there. Her strength came from another side effect of the impact of the pressure point. It made her stronger and more aware. Everything was so perfect.

~End Flashback~

Snapping himself back to reality, he got up and dressed her in clothing that he had made for her the day before. A black robe-like gown with silver trimming, it tied in front of her breasts with two X-shaped buckles. She wore a dark blue tank top that was cut right under the buckles. Her stomach was visible and the robe cut off right under her heels. She had black caprees that were also silver trimmed, with red lightening bolts going down the sides. She also had black gloves with the fingers cut off and high boots that had buckles going down the sides. She looked like the daughter of Satan, tall and trim hell's beauty.

He didn't want people to recognize her so he had her hair dyed. Her hair was still purple; only now; she had two dark blue streaks on each side of her hair going down to the bottom. The bottom of her hair was dyed black. He gave her sunglasses to wear so people wouldn't ask about her silver eyes. (Did I mention she's still unconscious during all this?)

Her nails were black, he had special doctors surgically put in sharp metal claws in place of her nails that where about two inches long. (Well gee, let me make them pink….duh! BLACK!!!!) Lastly, her weapon. She was armed with three swords. Two short ones (I think their called Kodachies or somth'in?) and one long one. She also carried a large gun like Rey's as well as a knife put on her boot.

When she awoke she looked at herself in terror. What the…before she could finish her thought Rey came up to her and in a gentle voice said, "Now, all we have to do is train you to kill Vash the Stampede"……
