Trigun Fan Fiction ❯ No Keys ❯ Intoxication ( Chapter 2 )
2. IntoxicationVash the Stampede, the man with the sixty billion double dollar bounty on his head walked into the tavern, completely unrecognized. The rumors never seemed to fit the man, and usually he could walk around just fine without being noticed. That was, unless someone called him by name...
"Vash-san!" Milly called out from the bar, waving frantically in her usual greeting.
Vash didn't answer, but walked over to where she was sitting. "Hi. I didn't know you were here."
"Oh, but Meryl just wanted to sleep, so I got bored, and decided to come over here and talk to Mr. Priest!"
"I don't see him here, Milly." Something resembling panic crept up in Vash's chest.
Milly grinned, and said nothing as a hand came down on Vash's shoulder. "Hey, Tongari," a familiar voice greeted from behind him. Vash fought to contain a sigh of relief as he turned to greet the preacher.
"Hi." Vash managed.
Why was I so worried? Why did his hand on my shoulder make me just want to lean my head over and touch his fingers to my face? Why does he do this to me?
Nicholas D. Wolfwood smiled, his usually steel grey eyes turning a hint of blue. "Long time no see."
Vash laughed, obnoxiously, as he tended to do when nervous, and sat down at the table. Nicholas sat next to him, as Milly stood. "Drinks! We need drinks!" she said as she wandered away from the table.
"Sometimes I wonder why they let her into bars," Nicholas muttered.
Vash laughed again.
