Trigun Fan Fiction ❯ Smile ❯ Comatose ( Chapter 3 )
Comatose, almost
You've got me dreaming
Slipping in
And sliding out
Of conscious feeling"What happened to you?"
Legato didn't answer the question, but removed the jacket he wore, and all it's trappings. He hung it neatly in the closet, not acknowledging the presence of the other man, one bit. Midvalley walked past him, into the room, and leaned against the far wall. He watched Legato, and he waited.
"I asked you what happened."
"I heard you." Legato didn't turn around. He was staring into the mirror on his wall. Midvalley could see his eyes reflecting back. They looked cold; almost dead.
Midvalley walked toward him. "Are you going to tell me?" He put his arms around Legato's waist, standing behind him. "Or am I going to have to work it out of you?"
Legato's eyes narrowed, and Midvalley's arms tightened around him, seemingly of their own accord. Tighter, and tighter. If I'm lucky, my ribs will break, and puncture something important. Midvalley concentrated hard. He closed his eyes, and focused, guiding his arms away from Legato. He didn't have half the power the blue haired man did, but more than the average human. If he concentrated hard enough, he was certain he could pull his arms away.

Legato felt Midvalley fighting him, and released him. Midvalley stepped back, and Legato turned and looked at him. His eyes were hollow, but powerful. Seemingly dead, but dangerous. Midvalley felt them burn into his own, and he looked away. Look at me. The thought was insistent. Powerful. Midvalley opened his eyes. Don't look through me, look at me. Midvalley forced his eyes to focus, and stared into the gold orbs that watched him. What do you see, Midvalley? The player chose his words carefully, knowing what Legato wanted to hear.
"I see a human. I see blue hair and golden eyes. I see someone powerful, but less than what he wants to be."
Idiot. You see a parasite. You see a virus. You see someone who can never come close to what He is.

Life has no meaning
I see someone who is horribly obsessed, and killing himself, slowly. I see someone who worships one who would rather see him rot than touch him. I see someone that I should walk away from. Midvalley thought these things to himself, but Legato heard the thoughts.
You will leave when I say you can leave. And not before. Legato walked toward the saxophone player, slowly, backing him up against the wall. He leaned forward, and whispered in his ear. "You do not make the decisions here, Hornfreak, I do." Legato leaned in, and pressed his lips to Midvalley's. Hard, demanding. Midvalley turned his face away.
"You're hurt."
"It will heal. It always does."
"Always?"
"Yes."
"Has this happened before?"
"That's none of your concern."
"You don't always heal, Legato-sama."
Midvalley reached forward, gently pushing the hair off Legato's face. Always he kept the one side covered. Midvalley traced the scars around his eye with his fingers. "You don't always heal."
Legato narrowed his eyes again, and Midvalley's hand dropped away from his face.
Midvalley's other hand came up, and his fingers ran along the cuts Knives had left on Legato's face. Legato moved quickly, and took the player's fingers into his mouth. Two of them, brushed past his lips, and Legato bit down hard. Do not touch my smile. Midvalley recoiled at the intensity of the thought that screamed inside his skull. His head hit the wall hard. Legato pressed himself against Midvalley, and ran his tongue along his jawline. Midvalley closed his eyes, and tensed his entire body.
No.
"Are you telling me no, Hornfreak?" Legato's eyes took on the same mocking tone with Midvalley as Knives' had earlier. If I want you, I will have you, and that's how it will be. Echoing words sounded in Legato's mind, screaming loudly. "I will never want you. How could I? Look at what you are."
Midvalley was human. Disgusting, repulsive, human. Like himself. Legato grabbed his head and slammed it into the wall. Are you still telling me no?
Midvalley slumped down the wall. A dazed expression filled his dark eyes. No.
Good. I will take you. And you will enjoy it.

Legato did as promised, and as Midvalley tried to fight him, Legato hit him with his trump card. Pretend I'm someone else, Hornfreak. Pretend I'm someone else. Pretend I'm someone else.... Legato mocked him, and a face appeared in Midvalley's mind. Pretend I'm Chapel if that pleases you.
Midvalley's mind shut down, completely. Everything from that point on was automatic. He no longer resisted, and he no longer seemed to care. When Legato was finished with him, he turned and looked at the Hornfreak with contempt. You know I hate when you make me do that.

Midvalley didn't look at him. Legato sat down on the bed, and pulled Midvalley down next to him. Redeem yourself, Midvalley. The player's eyes were distant, as he went through the motions. Legato felt the absence of his partner, and reached into his mind. Midvalley's hands went around Legato's throat, and tightened. If you aren't here, you won't stop. Your mental absence is in my benefit. Legato could see red creeping into his vision, as the hands loosened around his neck.

Midvalley turned away from him. A few errant tears strayed down his cheeks, and he refused to let Legato see them. Midvalley the Hornfreak does not cry.

Legato lay on his back and closed his eyes. He focused, and began to heal the cuts on his face. Midvalley got his clothes together, and took one last look at Legato before leaving. The golden eyes didn't open, and Midvalley walked out the door.
