Angel of the Night
A DarkStalker FanFic
By Dr. Yorkazemzem
(Author Note: Hey, it's the Good Doctor again! Believe it or not, but the idea for this fic came to me in a dream. No joke! Even some of the dialogue came from the dream. I was so confounded by the idea it wouldn't leave my mind until it was on paper. (Or in the computer in this case) But it looks like this is gonna' be a series. Plus, this story doesn't really take place in the OVA or game world, kinda' both. Anyway, I don't own DarkStalker or Morrigan and Lilith. But I do own Matt.)
She was gone! Like that! In a blink of an eye she was gone. A horrible event. Morrigan was heart broken. Her sister, Lilith, taken from her. A terrible turn of events. No one is really sure how it happened. One minute she was there, the next minute she was gone. Morrigan couldn't handle it. She ran. She fled from Makai to the human world. There she was safe. A false feeling of safeness. If any thing, the human world was more dangerous then Makai. But nonetheless, Morrigan felt safe there. It was around 6:00 P.M. Morrigan was in her human form, at a racetrack. Don't really ask why. She was just there. It was the first place she found.
That's when he saw her. His name was Matt, the son of the owner of the racetrack. His Father was a rich man, so Matt basically got anything he wanted. But he disliked this. Matt was to free spirited to care about such things. Matt wanted something more, he wanted adventure. Matt was at the racetrack because he had nothing better to do. Matt was in one of the top rows, when he saw Morrigan in the lower row. He was surprised by her beauty. He didn't know the girl, or even know how her face looked. (For she was facing the track)
Matt: Fascinating. She's beautiful.
Matt did not believe in such clinque things as love at first sight. No, this wasn't the case. Maybe lust at first sight. Now Matt believed in that, he knew it was real. Yet this girl's body didn't interest him (Even thou it was amazing) Matt wasn't sure what it was. She intrigued him so. He didn't understand why she fascinated him, she just did. He had to know who she was; he had to know her name. Then he saw her face. See turned a bit to the left. Red lipstick, pale, white skin, sunglasses, and turquoise hair? It must be dyed. It had to be. The race was almost over. Good. Once it was Matt could pursue her.
Morrigan: How barbaric.
The horserace she meant. It was barbaric. Maybe this wasn't the best place to come. She didn't understand why the humans found so much entertainment in the pain of these poor creatures. Yes, she would leave. This was not the place to be depressed. She wound find a different place to feel sorry for herself. She picked herself up and lift. Walked out of the bleachers, down the hallway, and into what she believed the humans called a "Parking lot." She walked on.
Matt: Where did she go?!
Matt thought out-loud. He looked away for a moment, and when he turned back, she was gone. He picked up his suitcase and ran down the bleachers. The damn things didn't seem to end, but finally they did and he preceded the girl into the hall and soon out into the parking lot. There she was walking out of the lot.
Matt: Hello! You!
Morrigan was surprised. Who would want to talk to her? She turned around and saw a young man. He looks like he was in his mid-twenties. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and skin almost as pales as hers. But he was human. He had to be, he couldn't be a vampire, not with the sun up, and he didn't act like an incubus or a zombie in human form. He was wearing a business suit, and caring a tattered suit case.
Morrigan: Who are you?
Matt: I was going to ask you the same thing.
Morrigan: What do you want?
Matt: Would you please answer my question first?
Morrigan: (Thinking) Aren't we a gentleman. (Talking) I am Morrigan Aensland. Now, answer my question.
Matt: Which one?
Morrigan: Both please.
Matt: I am Matt Gover, and….
How should Matt answer the second question? He couldn't tell her that it was because he had a sudden fascination with her. He just couldn't. What should he say?
Matt: Um….
Morrigan: Well, come out with it. I have things to do.
It was a lie. She had nowhere to go and nothing to do. She just thought by saying these she might get the answer out of him quicker.
Matt: Well, I…. (Thinking) Screw this. (Talking) I saw you at the races and had to know your name.
Morrigan: Well now you know it. Is there anything else you want?
Matt: You look sad.
Morrigan: Is there anything else you want?!!
Matt: Yes. Why do you look so sad?
Morrigan: Well….
Now Morrigan was the one lost for words. She couldn't, she wouldn't, tell a complete stranger about her sister's death. What would she say? She had to answer, it would be rude not to. Then it came to her.
Morrigan: It's none of your business.
Matt: I suppose a beautiful woman like your self has business that you wise not to sere.
Morrigan: You think I'm beautiful?
Matt: Do you disagree?
Morrigan: (Quietly) I don't know.
Matt: Whys that?
Morrigan: I don't know what I know, anymore.
Matt: Well, obvilely you do because you know you don't know it.
Morrigan giggled at this. The statement was very funny in it's self, but the way he said it was what made her laugh.
Morrigan: I guess your right. (Starts to leave)
Matt: Wait! Where are you going?
Morrigan: (Thinks for a minute) Nowhere. I have nowhere to go.
Matt: But a few minutes ago you said you had things to do.
Morrigan: (Starts to cry) I lied.
Matt: (Goes next to Morrigan) What's wrong?
Morrigan: My sister.
Matt: You had a sister, what happen to her?
Morrigan: She…. She died.
Matt: Oh! I see. I'm sorry. I won't talk to you about it. (Starts to leave)
Morrigan: No. Don't go. I need to talk to some one about this.
Matt: Well, if you want to talk maybe we can go somewhere other then a parking lot.
Again, Morrigan laughed at this. And again it was the statement, but how he said it that was humorous.
Morrigan: Your right. (Wipes a tear from her eye) Wear do you suggestion?
Matt: Well, are you huger?
Morrigan: A little.
Matt: Would you like to get something to eat?
Morrigan: I think I would.
Matt: Well there is a Chinese restaurant just out side of here. It's pretty good.
Morrigan: That sounds good.
The two walked out of the parking lot and walked for a few moments, until they got to the restaurant. Morrigan, being a succubus, didn't really care for human food. It didn't even really feel her up. But it did produce a warm feeling inside her. She needed that now.
The place was called "Chi Low's" or something around those lines. The place was dressed up like a Chinese temple or something of the sort. The two were placed toward the end of the restaurant. Morrigan liked it there. It was away from the people. Matt ordered simple noodles, and Morrigan ordered soup, she thinks. Music play in the background of the restaurant. The seemed to repeat three notes over and over and over and over again. It had a rather tinny feel to it. It didn't seem like something the Chinese would really listen to.
The two finished their meals. Matt paid for it with green paper. Earth money, Morrigan assumed. The sun was going down. It would be night soon. With night, came tendencies. The Succubus had natural tendencies that appeared at night. If they came into control, she would find a dark alley somewhere, kill Matt, and drain I'm of his soul. Morrigan didn't want to do that. Matt seemed like too nice of a man to kill. Yes, she would try to control these stupid tendencies. The two walked out of the restaurant. Morrigan started to rub her head, in attempts to push back the natural tendencies of the succubus.
Matt: Is something wrong, Morrigan?
Morrigan ran into a dark alley. She had the need to change into her Succubus form. Morrigan figure she could control it better in the dark.
Matt: Morrigan?
Morrigan: (Starts to cry) Nothing's wrong.
Matt: I'm having a hard time believing that.
Morrigan: I've done bad things.
Matt: Like what?
Morrigan: I've been doing bad things all my life.
Matt: You're making me kinda' worried.
Morrigan: Please go. I may do bad things to you.
Matt: Okay, I'll go. I just need to know one thing.
Morrigan: What?
Matt: Is there a time I can meet you again.
Morrigan smiled for a short time.
Morrigan: You'll know when. You'll know when.
Matt: Right. (Walks off)
What would Morrigan do? She waited for Matt to be out of sight. Then see changed into her Succubus form and ran off into the night, to look for pray. Forgetting that what she was doing was wrong. She didn't cared. All she cared about was forefeeling this hunger.
(Well? Was that too corny? Do think Morrigan was OOC? Do you think it was just bad? Or did you like it? Please answer these questions by reviewing this story. I would greatly thankful if you did. And as few as 2 people like this story, I'll continue it!)
