INTIMATE ENLIGHTENMENT
A Vampire Princess Miyu Challenge Fanfic
Written By Miyu, Vampire Princess
THE CHALLENGE: Age isn't everything! Write a pairing where the participants are at least 6 years apart. (week six...SO long ago!)
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Just looking at the second and third lines above confuses me. O_o But it is as it states. I've finally gotten the urge to write for my signature anime series. YAY! Takes place sometime during the TV series, for those who really need to keep track. Slightly OOC, although the characters do act a bit different from the OVA to the TV series so...use your own best judgment. Lemon content. A Standard Disclaimer follows the piece.
Shouts of joy filled the air around Kabiya High School as students began piling into the schoolyard. The final bell had sounded; telling the students and teachers it was time for summer break. Friends and classmates chattered as they left the school grounds, curious as to what they had planned for the upcoming vacation. Even the teachers were quite happy for the short rest and relaxation summer break would bring.
Miyu watched from the shadows as her friends came into view. She knew they had intended to spend their free time with family and loved ones. Slumber parties, camping, hiking, shopping, she'd been invited to do it all. But she politely declined, stating that her schedule was full for the duration of the break.
"Oh," one of her classmates, Hiyako, had replied. "I was hoping to introduce you to my boyfriend, Sousuke."
The meeting would have been pointless. For it was because of Miyu that they were now dating. Hiyako, though, had no memory of the shinma that had possessed her...or that Miyu, herself, had extinguished the demon. It nearly destroyed the girl's soul. Thankfully Sousuke offered a part of his soul, so that the girl could continue living.
"Perhaps another time," Miyu said with a small smile, the best she could muster.
Watching her friends now, she saw Sousuke run to join the group of girls that had just reached the gate. She looked him over as she always did, with an air of curiosity and indifference. He was cute by human standards, but that was all she could see. Each and every time she could see just that one thing.
"Why don't I see it," she muttered into the darkness around her.
"You're not looking hard enough," the darkness replied.
Miyu was not surprised, nor frightened. Even as the shadows began to form a figure to stand beside her, she stood calmly, her eyes focused on her friends. "I still don't understand."
"Understand what?" the dark figure asked.
"Love."
"Love?"
"Yes, love." The girl was clearly perplexed...and frustrated. "Because I can't see it.... Larva, is that what humans mean by 'love is blind'?"
The dark figure turned, a masked face staring down at the young woman. Amusement was evident in his voice, as he replied, "No. It is not."
Miyu sighed, her shoulders slumping in an uncharacteristic show of defeat. "I just don't see why Hiyako is in love with him. I know she likes him but...what is there to love?"
"Love cannot be seen, or touched," Larva replied. "Only felt."
"Your words only confuse me."
The tall, dark figure attempted to explain, "Miyu, do you remember your mother?"
Eyes narrowed in concentration before she answered, "Vaguely."
"Do you remember how you felt near her, with her?"
Again brows furrowed together in deep thought. "Happy. Content. Safe."
"Did you love her?"
Miyu shrugged. "I suppose."
"To feel love is to feel all those feelings you just described. To know that the person you love returns those feelings." He paused, letting his words sink in. "Miyu, I have seen the tears you weep when you think you are alone. To shed tears of sorrow is to feel love."
"Love, I fear, is too complex."
"By definition, yes."
She raised a hand, the hand that had slain more than a few shinma through the years. "Then...am I not allowed to know this...love?"
The question seemed strange, even to Larva's ears. Perhaps being around the humans had an effect he was not aware of. He kneeled beside her, grasping the hand she had been staring at. Smaller fingers were encompassed by longer, more defined fingers. Also the hands of a killer, of a protector. With a slight tug, he turned her to face him. She still did not look at him, but she did not argue.
"I know that your fate is as sealed as mine. You do not like it, but you accept it. I know this and accept it with you."
Miyu's eyes lifted to look at Larva for the first time since his arrival. "Is that also love?"
"I have sworn to protect you."
She looked even more confused. And hurt. "Then...that is not love."
"It is a part of love."
"Again you are confusing me."
"Then let me put it into simpler terms. I love you. That is what drives me to protect you. To aid you in your war against the shinma."
"You...love me?" She looked confused...and happy. "How...how does it feel?"
Larva sighed, "It feels like my chest is tightening. As if I am at peace for the first time in decades. There is a beating in my chest that skips when I think about you. When I worry about you."
"It sounds painful."
"Only when you are in danger."
"I am not in any danger now."
"No." He tried to approach from a different angle. "How did you feel when I said 'I love you'?"
She didn't hesitate to answer. "My breath caught. My heart...stopped I think. But only for a moment. I felt happy." A smile spread across her lips, a genuine smile most unlike her. More like the girl who should've been rather than the one who was. "Very happy."
Larva released her hand and stepped back into the shadows. "Then you can feel love, Miyu."
"But...there's more, isn't there?"
"To love?" His voice called to her from the darkness. "There are many aspects. One in particular that most humans indulge in far too often."
"What is it? Tell me."
"You are already familiar with it, I am certain."
Miyu's eyes narrowed again. "Riddles again."
"I will show you, if you will allow it."
"Of course," she muttered.
Miyu followed Larva into the shadows without question, without hesitation. It was a familiar form of travel, one that often served to surprise the enemy. But something was different about this particular trip. Larva seemed...relaxed, but then he always was. His words echoed in her mind and a part of the famed shinma slayer began to melt. Her heart raced, bogged by logic and the thought of something else.
She was unprepared for the foggy space in which she arrived. At first she thought she had traveled to a bog, or a swamp. But as the smoky mist cleared around, she noticed a setting unlike any other she had seen before. It was a large room, several times the size of the classroom from which she came. It was decorated in a classical style. Deep red curtain swooped the frame of French doors. A four-post canopy bed sat adjacent, covered in lavish red silk. There were few other elements of furniture in the room, but the room alone: walls covered in paintings and pictures, statues standing guard in every corner, was like a museum.
Yet, she knew instantly that this was Larva's sanctuary.
"You've collected many things," she said off-handedly, distracted by the beauty around her.
"I have lived a long time," was the dark man's reply. "These are the things I once loved...before becoming a shinma."
The French doors opened, a cool breeze blowing into the room. Miyu took it as an invitation, stepping towards the doors and out onto a balcony. There was nothing to be seen but fog, yet the aura was calm, peaceful. She sucked in a deep breath, trying to quiet the loud banging of her heart against her ribcage.
"The things you loved," Miyu stated as she turned and sat upon the balcony's edge. "Do you not like them anymore?"
"As you would say, they are trivial in comparison."
Miyu held back a shiver, hearing his voice in her ear. She did not move, or look, as he materialized beside her, facing away from her while leaning on the balcony edge she sat on. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched him as he stared into foggy nothingness. Was there something out there he knew about but wasn't telling? Or were memories crowding his mind? A quick look at the far-off cast of his eyes, and she knew it was memory that drew his attention.
"Then why keep them, if they do not matter?"
"They are a reminder of what once was," he said, smiling lightly. "Some memories are best held onto. Others disappear as new ones are made."
"You were in love once," the girl stated. She did not like the falling feeling of her heart into her stomach as she talked. "Are you not sad? Isn't that a memory you wish to hold on to?"
"It has almost been forgotten."
Surprise showed on her face as she turned to look at him directly. She was even more surprised that he had turned away from the fog, staring directly at her. Gone was his mask. And his usual garb. Now he was dressed in a flowing robe more suited to comfort. His face, a beautiful mask in itself, was as pale as the skin of his chest, arms and hands. Dark eyes seemed to bore into her, searching, drawing, tempting.
"Almost?" Her heart continued to beat harder against her chest. There was something in his eyes, something she couldn't place. It was familiar, yet not. "Has it been replaced?"
"Love itself cannot be replaced," he replied. "We can love many things...and many people...in our lifetime. We do not replace it so much as add on to the feeling."
"You speak knowledgably about such things."
Again his eyes seemed far away. "I know a little."
"Teach me."
Larva took one of her hands in his again. "Tell me what you are feeling right now."
"Do you promise not to laugh?"
"Of course."
"I feel...happy, at peace. Yet excited and...strange." She paused, uncertain how to describe her last emotion. "My heart won't stop racing. I feel giddy, for the first time in what feels like forever. But...sad also...because you know so much more than I."
"I am glad. For what I want to teach you is both soothing and exciting."
"The human indulgence?"
His answer was a swift movement. Pushing himself closer to her, towering above her just seconds before descending upon her. The young woman was surprised again as she felt his lips against her own. It seemed such an innocent, yet provocative kiss. Her heart did stop, even as her body acted on its own. Eyes closing as her lips melted against his.
It lasted not long enough, yet her breath was stolen as he drew away. Words were difficult to form. Her mind was clouded with thoughts unlike any she'd had before. She managed to find words after several deep breaths. But could he hear her over the deafening thud of her heart.
"Was that it?"
"Part of it." Carefully he stepped backward, pulling the young woman from her perch. She stood willingly, too distracted by thought and feeling. "There is more."
"Will I like this...indulgence?"
He continued to move backward, leading her back inside the room. "If you do not, then it is not much of an indulgence."
The doors closed as Miyu stepped inside the room. But the sound of the doors closing was so far away. Her focus was on Larva. The intense look in his eyes. She had never seen it before. Intriguing, fascinating...it made her heart beat faster. A warning and a promise.
"Do it again?"
"Do what?"
"Kiss me."
Larva could not disobey his master. He swept her into another kiss. Strong arms encased her in their grip, her hands resting gently against his shoulders. Their lips met with equal fervor, pushing and pulling, taking and giving. Not enough to calm her still pounding heartbeat, Miyu grasped the sides of Larva's face in a gentle hold. He could only answer by hugging her tighter, holding her close to him.
Heat flared, searing them both. Air disappeared, taken, and replaced with fire. Miyu allowed herself to be drawn into the flames, welcoming them as she did the kiss. Crushed was she against his solid frame, unable to do anything but feel the hard pounding of his heart against her chest. Hers answered the calling, beating back until they were perfectly in sync, pulsating as one.
Then his hold loosened, the kiss ending. Then beginning again. But it was her cheek that felt the kiss. Then her ear. Then her throat. Tiny, wet kisses trailed from one side of her face to the other. Her thumbs stroked his face as he kisses every pore, every space, every piece of her he could come into contact with. And when he finished, he took her lips again.
Miyu shivered as she felt the brush of his teeth against her neck. He was not a vampire, but the touch seemed very intimate. Her hands left his face, perching on his shoulders as he continued to explore her mouth. The addition of the tongue was an interesting twist, a challenge that she met. They danced as if they had been made to dance together. She felt a dire need to melt into him, her insides melting from his touch alone.
Feather-light fingertips moved up and down her back, causing her to shiver over and over until a moan finally escaped her throat. It vibrated against his lips and he smiled into her skin, rewarding her by biting into the flesh. Marking her without drawing blood.
She was his, just as much as he was hers.
All thought gurgled in her head. Nothing coherent could be pieced together. Even the pieces were confusing. Her body felt as if it were on fire but there was no pain. She felt as if she was flying but her feet were firmly planted on the ground. Nothing made sense, except the steady beating of his heart under her palm Her nails dug into his flesh as he bit her, excitement stirring the building fire within her. She wanted to bite him in return, but instinct said his bite was symbolic. Not out of hunger.
Although hunger was indeed present.
Larva's hands began pushing and pulling at her school uniform. It would have been easy to use his powers, to will them away as if they never existed. But part of the charm was getting to see her inch by inch. It enflamed him beyond belief, and made his old heart eager for a look at young flesh.
Miyu, however, had no such will power. With a blink the clothes melted away, leaving only what she thought was decent. A smile formed on her lips as Larva's robe became transparent, then non existent.
"You're taking some of the fun away," he said with a smile.
"Clothing is constrictive, and...." She sighed, searching for the right words. "I can't stand the material against my skin. It doesn't feel right."
"How about this?" Carefully he drew her close again, lifting her slightly so that her chest was crushed against his. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist. She felt something against her thigh, but it was forgotten in the primal look of his eyes.
"This...this is good," she whispered, her lips closing in to meet his.
The kiss was short lived however, ending as Larva carried her to the bed and laid her there. He was forced to join her, her arms a tight noose about his neck. He pressed his lips against her, then against her cheek, her right eye, her forehead. Then he moved lower, kissing her ear and neck, down her shoulder and lower still, pressing against flesh yet undiscovered.
Miyu's entire body shivered against his, wanting something she could not name. There was the way of a man and woman, she knew, but she knew nothing of the feeling of abandon, of wantonness, of pure pleasure. Her thighs moved against his hips, pushing against that solid object. He heard him moan against one breast before taking the tip into his mouth. Then she moaned, her hips lifting, knowing that she wanted to be closer to that hard object.
Her hands melted in his hair, holding him to her breast, yet trying to pull him away. The inexperienced way she moved beneath him made his baser senses run wild. He could feel the dark essence of his demon side curling inside of him. Wanting release. He'd wanted this for so long but had been afraid to ask, afraid to even utter those words, special even now that he was shinma.
He heard her mewl, almost growl as he removed himself from her breast and her grasp. Quickly he moved lower, puling her legs from around his waist and holding them apart so that he could see her. Heat immediately rushed to the slayer's face, her legs trying to close as he gazed at her naked sex. But his grip was firm, his resolve unwavering. She only had to tell him to stop. Just say the words.
Words were still hard to form, however, as he kissed that part of her. Only his name fell from her lips as he inhaled her musk, tasting it on his tongue. She cried out, once again reaching for his hair. Her body convulsed and pleasure rolled through her.
She felt unbearably warm, agitated and frustrated by the unknown feelings unraveling inside of her. She wanted to ask him to stop, but only sounds came from her lips. Her body would not have listened anyway, pressing closer to his, wanting something so base and primal that she couldn't comprehend it.
Moving upward, he paused only long enough to wrap her legs around his waist, to cup her breasts in his hands. He could feel her moan from her chest, his own body losing precious control as he neared his own limit. So long had he dreamed. So long had he wanted to enlighten her.
"Larva, please."
"Please what?"
"I...I don't...I don't know the...the words." Tears formed in her eyes, her mind trying to understand what her body so desperately wanted. Her body in pain because she did not know what to ask.
"Shhh," he crooned, kissing her tears. "I know. I am sorry." He lifted her, his hands cupping her buttocks. "I will answer your request. But, you will feel pain."
Miyu was already in pain, but could only nod as she felt something blunt push against her core. It pushed and stretched, going deeper until it reached a stopping point. A barrier. Pain pushed away desire, but curiosity still loomed. Surely this was not all that was to happen. What kind of an indulgence was this, where pain was pleasure?
She heard Larva's apology before she felt the tearing of the barrier, the searing pain it caused. She cried out, arching her back and grasping onto the bed beneath her. Larva's words attempted to sooth, to calm. But only his motionless state aided her at all.
The tears began to fade as she asked him, "Is this love?"
"This is all part of love," he answered, lowering his forehead against hers. It was difficult with their height difference. "But it will not hurt anymore. Never again."
"You mean...we can do this again?"
Larva held back a chuckle. "Of course. But...we must reach the end of this time first."
With that he pulled out of her a little. She gasped, her breath catching as he pushed back into her. He continued this several times, and her breath hitched every time. Even as he moved faster, her body moving with his, it was difficult to breathe. Difficult to do anything but feel.
Doors that had once been locked in her mind opened up. Feelings that had been long suppressed, forgotten, were awakening. She moved her hips in time with his, meeting each thrust with a thrust of her own. She groaned at the feel of his fingernails digging into her sensitive flesh, his lips pressing light kisses to her forehead and temple. Then it became too much, her body working on its own trying to match his tempo and push for a greater one.
Then the heat in her body formed into a ball and exploded. Light coursed through her, surrounded her. She sighed, her body becoming light, her mind going blank. Her eyes closed, only to open again. Spots formed, colors blurring her vision. Then she closed her eyes again and darkness surrounded her.
Larva released himself, pulling her to him even as he could feel her drifting away. He rested himself next to her, their bodies still joined even as they cooled. Fog rolled in to encompass them, protect them as they rested.
"I love you, Larva."
"I love you too, Miyu."
