“Oh Mr. Alien!”

 

“Huh? Oh hi Dita. How's it going?”

 

“I'm glad I found you. I made you some delicious food!”

 

Hibiki smiled at Dita and kissed her cheek. As they walked to the cafeteria, Hibiki thought about Jura. He had not seen her at all that day. He hadn't forgotten about the night before. It still ran through his mind. How he held Jura close, their intimate kisses, the passion they shared, he'd never be able to shake it from his mind. He loved Dita but this feeling he had for Jura was growing. Maybe she'd forgotten all about the night before and moved on. He hoped she did, he didn't want to hurt her feelings. Once they got into the cafeteria, Hibiki noticed Jura sitting with Barnett. She wasn't eating very much nor was she talking. When she turned to looked at Hibiki, he was occupied with Dita. They sat together talking and eating their breakfast. Jura wished it were her that was sharing the happiness with Hibiki. She had dreamt about him the night before. Visions of them together filled her head. She wanted him to make love to her again and again, she wanted him to leave Dita for her. “Barnett, I want him.”

 

Barnett looked up from her waffles and blinked. “What? Jura you got what you wanted last night.”

 

“But it's not enough! I…I don't know what it is about him. It's just that when we were together I felt something for him, a feeling unlike any other. I wanted to lie in his arms and hear him whisper sweet words in my ear. Do you understand?” Jura asked. Barnett shook a no at Jura and continued to eat. Jura got up from her seat and walked past Dita and Hibiki. Hibiki caught a glimpse of Jura before she left the cafeteria. He could feel what she was feeling. He was going through the same thing. Later, after practicing a new formation between Hibiki and Meia's vandread, Jura came to Hibiki when everyone left the hangar. He was polishing his Vanguard when he noticed her. “Hey.”

 

“Hi. I'll be right down.”

 

Hibiki came down and they went for a walk. They sat together by the river and watched it sparkle. Neither of them said a word for they knew what each other were thinking. They both had a comment about last night. After five minutes of silence, Hibiki decided to break the ice. “Jura, last night was…I enjoyed it but I love Dita. We both agreed that we'd only do it that once.” Hibiki said. Jura kept her eyes on the water and swallowed. “I know that. I've been telling myself that so many times. But I can't shake the feeling. Hibiki, I know you have Dita but don't think you'd be better with me? I know you can't stop thinking about us. You love me, not Dita. Leave her and come be with me. We can make love every night, you can hold me and you'll never have to leave me.”

 

Hibiki chuckled and smiled at Jura. “Sounds good, I'd love to. But I love Dita. We agreed to let it happen for one night and we did. Jura, we can't anymore. I promised that I wouldn't tell Dita and I won't but it's over Jura.”

 

Jura's eyes began to fill with tears. She got up quickly and ran away from Hibiki. He called out to her but she continued to run. On her way to her room, she ran into Dita and Ezra. She stopped and looked at Dita with teary eyes. “Jura are you ok? What's wrong?”

 

Jura said nothing. She glared at Dita and pushed her off her feet.

 

“Dita!”

 

“Oww! Jura what was that for?”

 

Jura said nothing and walked past her into her room. Once the doors closed, she sat against the wall and let the tears fall. “Why…what does he see in her…that he doesn't see in me. What does she have that I don't? Hibiki…why can't you love me?” She cried. Jura buried her face in her tears and continued to cry until she fell asleep.

 

In his room, Hibiki laid on his bed thinking about Jura. He pictured the hurt look in her eyes before she ran away. It hurt him too. He wanted Jura. He wanted to hold her, kiss her, make love to her once more. It was a temptation that was hard to resist. ::: Maybe I should go to her room and see if she's ok. She looked pretty hurt. :::

 

Hibiki left his room and took a walk to Jura's room. When he entered, he found her on the floor leaning against the wall, sleeping. He knelt down to her and examined her face. ::: She was crying. :::

 

Hibiki picked Jura up off the floor and put her in bed. “I know it's hard for you Jura and it's hard for me too. I don't know what to do. I think about you all day but I can't get close to you. I love Dita. I can't be with you.” He whispered. He moved closer to Jura and placed a kiss on her lips. “Keep that with you.”

 

Hibiki left the room and walked down the hall towards his own room. When he got there, Dita was sitting on his bed waiting for him. “Hello Hibiki.”

 

“Hey Dita. Were you waiting long?”

 

“No.”

 

Hibiki sat next to Dita and kissed her softly on the lips. Dita returned the kiss and coiled her arms around him. She laid back and continued to kiss him. Hibiki moved his kisses her lips to her neck and rubbed her arms. “Hibiki…”

 

“Oh...Jura…Jura…”

 

“Hibiki!”

 

Dita pushed Hibiki off of her and sat up. She had a hurt expression on her face as she looked at him. “Hibiki you called me Jura.” She said. Hibiki gave a confused look at her. “Dita I-”

 

“Is there something between you and Jura? Tell me Hibiki, why did you call me Jura just now?”
