Chapter 7 A Wedding to Prepare

The wedding for the king was important went that usually took months to arrange, but Lord Van wanted it to be as soon as possible. His advisors that had been pushing him for months to get married thought that it was best to keep their mouths shut. Though they were clueless as to Lady Hitomi's blood origins, they knew that she was definitely a descendant of Draconians like their king. That meant that the sooner the two were married, the sooner the king would have an heir, and that heir would be powerful. Also, a kingdom is most stable when a king has an heir to take over in case of the king's death. So they agreed with their king and began making preparations immediately. Luckily, they already had drawn up a guest list in hopes that the king would wed soon.

In two weeks time the castle was welcoming royalty from all over. They entire kingdom was celebrating with dancing, drinking, singing, and well…drinking some more.

Hitomi was nervous to say the least. The day after her engagement, she was already being fitted for her wedding gown. She had made Merle her maid of honor and Millerna was the only other bridesmaid. Millerna had been helping her learn royal etiquette while Merle had started teaching her traditions in Fanelia. She had to be ready by tomorrow. Tonight she would be blessed by Fanelia's highest priest and then sent to bed early.

She missed Van. She had only seen him a few times in the last two weeks. At least tomorrow, she would be him again. They would finally be together forever.

`At least I hope so. The Mystic Moon might call me back…no I won't worry about that right now…'

Her servants dressed her in a long white night gown for her blessing. She definitely wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.

Van was exhausted. He had just gotten out of a meeting with the other kings in the area. He had even seen his friend Allen for a few minutes. The only thing that kept him in his chipper mood, however, was Hitomi. Although he had barely seen her, he knew that she was there and tomorrow she would finally be his. That night he would have to be blessed by a priest. This tradition was said to bring luck in marriage and in childbirth. He went along with it, and he knew Hitomi was being blessed sometime around now.

`I will see you tomorrow Hitomi, and you will be my wife.'

A/N: I am not all that happy with it, but I am trying to get to the exciting part!
