I really haven't been in the mood to write anything recently due to relationships and heartache, but your reviews made me feel guilty. I really didn't think the story was that great, but I will try my best to finish it up for you guys.

Dinner

Hitomi didn't know a major percentage of the people congratulating her, but what kept her from losing it was Van's arm around hers. She watched him laugh with the other members of the court and nod to those he wasn't that close to. He seemed to notice Hitomi becoming weary though, and he kept glancing at her from the corner of his eye.

"Let us all eat, I am sure that you are all famished," Van stated in a king's voice.

With that he grasped Hitomi's hand and led her to the table. They sat at the end of the banquet table, with her at his right.

" Are you alright Hitomi?"

"Yes Van, I am fine…just a little overwhelmed, that's all."

He brought her gloved hand up to his mouth and kissed it. Looking into her eyes he whispered, " it will be fine, and we will excuse ourselves when you are finished eating, ok."

Hitomi nodded and kept conversations going with the other ladies present. She thought she did well, keeping her head high and her nervousness at bay. She was glad, however, when the pork came out. She had an excuse not to talk while eating- it wasn't ladylike.

Van talked to Dryden and Allen but kept an eye on his wife. He didn't want to eat. He wanted to take her to a place where they could be alone.

`She is so beautiful and looks so perfect as a queen. Even if she had said no to the responsibility of being queen, I would have married her anyway…I wouldn't have let her leave me again. I love her too much, but I can't say that now, now I have the absolute right to love her…she is my wife.' With that he smiled and noticed her smile back at him.

The couple ate quickly and were greeted by hoots and hollers when they stated that they would retire for the night. Hitomi blushed, but Van merely restated that they were tired and needed rest. Hand in hand, the couple left the great dining hall and traveled toward the king's chambers.

Van opened the door to his room and gestured for her to go inside as well. When Hitomi entered, she found that all of her gowns and jewelry had been moved into his room. She blushed as she looked at the bed and averted her eyes from Van's gaze.

He could tell she was nervous…Hell he was nervous! Seeing her walking around his room and taking off her gloves was making him ecstatic. She looked like she belonged here with him.

"Hitomi, I want you to know how happy you made me today.," Van said as he wrapped his arms around her from behind.

With his touch, she shivered and stopped removing the ties in her hair. He was so warm.

"Van, I should be telling you how happy I am…" she whispered softly.

She turned around and faced him, focusing on his eyes. He gently began removing what was left of the ties in her hair and watched as it fell free.

"Van, I have to be honest…I am a little nervous," she said averting her eyes and blushing.

"It's alright, we don't have to do anything tonight. I can wait until you are ready; I can wait forever if you need me to," he said taking her chin and making her face him.

"No, I said I was nervous. I didn't say I didn't want you," she stated becoming even darker crimson.

"I love you so much Hitomi, but I need you to tell me what you want. Before you answer though, let's at least get changed into something more comfortable."

She nodded and proceeded to try and undo her wedding gown. Van had already gotten most of his robes off, when he noticed her trouble. He removed his boots and was left clad in his underclothes. Walking up behind her, he began to untie the corset that had been cutting off the circulation to her lower half. She trembled for a moment when she felt his hands remove her own, but she relaxed when she felt the horrid garment loosen. All that she was left in was a long gown of silk that touched the floor. She was a little scared to think that she didn't have on anything underneath it, but she knew that underwear weren't needed at the moment. Using the small amount of nerve she had left, she turned around to face him.

"Thank you, I was beginning to think that I would never get that thing off."

"You're very welcome. Are you feeling a little better?" he said reaching out to cup her cheek.

The moment she felt the heat of his hand touch her cheek, she knew what she wanted. She wanted him.

Closing her eyes, she moved her lips until she was touching Van's lips. After a second, she leaned back to look at him and noticed his surprise.

"You wanted an answer Van…I am ready, and I want you to make your wife tonight in every sense of the word. I want to wake up in your arms tomorrow and know that I will be in those arms for the rest of my life."

He hadn't expected her to kiss him, but he wasn't going to argue. He knew that she loved him, but he didn't think she would be ready tonight. He wanted her, but he thought that he would have to get along with just sleeping with her in his arms.

"Hitomi, are you sure?"

She nodded and his heart leapt.

`She will finally be mine.'

With that he pulled her to him in a flash. He wouldn't let go of her tonight.
