Vision Of Escaflowne Fan Fiction ❯ Dreams Come True ❯ Chapter Sixteen: Dreams Pt 3 ( Chapter 16 )
Chapter Sixteen
The sun was just peaking over the land when I reached my destination. I put Kira into the stables, and walk into the palace. I met a servant in the hallway.
"Kang-Lin is Lord Folken awake."
"Yes, he is always up before the sun"
"Thank you."
"What brings you hear Lady Hitomi, I heard that your wedding in five days."
"Yes it is, I need to talk to Folken, and it's of utmost importance, so if you'll excuse me."
"Certainly Lady Hitomi."
Kang-Lin went back to what she was doing and I continued walking down the hall. I knew where to find Folken, every morning he sits in the dining room and watch the sunrise.
I walked to the dining room and opened the door to find…no Folken??? I stood at the door for a while; I didn't sense a presence behind me.
"Hitomi, it's so good to see you again." Folken placed his non-mechanical hand on my shoulder close to my neck.
I jumped and turned around, "Folken don't do that you nearly gave me a heart attack."
"I'm sorry Hitomi."
"It's okay."
"Did you just come from Fanelia?"
We started walking down the hall.
"Yes."
"You must have left early then, and you came alone."
"I left the palace at one this morning, I needed to see you, I had to ask you some advice."
"Really? What about?"
"My marriage to Van, I don't know if it is all wrong."
"What do you mean? Do you have doubts that this is the right thing to do?"
"Yes. Malerna said I was just getting cold feet yesterday and I wasn't sure. She asked me to do a tarot reading to see if it will ease my uncertainty, but it didn't. It made it worse."
"How?"
"The cards said that this marriage is all wrong, that I will only endure loneliness and heartache. I saw heartache, pain, loss, I'm not sure why but I saw jealousy and finally…death." I started to cry, "The cards read that if this marriage goes forward someone I love is going to die."
"Hitomi please don't cry," Folken wrapped his arms around me and held me. "I don't like to see you cry. Could there be any chance that the cards are wrong?"
"The cards have never been wrong before. I also had a dream. The dream is what brought me here. It was so horrible and I believe it's a vision."
"What happened?"
"Van and a shadow figure were fighting to the death. I could see a ring on Vans finger. I tried calling Van, but my voice wouldn't reach him so I ran up to him and I tried to tell them to stop fighting for some reason. I must have known subconsciously who the shadow was. When Van heard me he was stabbed, and he died. Both Van and the shadow disappeared, and then I saw everyone in my life turn their back on me and I was left all alone."
"Could that be a vision of what might happen if you two do marry?"
"That's what I'm starting to believe. What do you think?"
"I think it could be a warning, it seems to be too severe to be just a dream, but it also could be from your worry that it might not work out."
"It could."
"Hitomi…" Folken turns to look me in the eyes. "Van loves you very much he would do anything to make you happy. I know my brother and he will love you for the rest of his life and until eternity. I know you are worried that Van will die and your dream will come true. I can't really tell you what you to do."
"I know, I guess I just wanted another person's perspective…Thank you."
"For what?"
"Listening."
"You're welcome."
~*~*~
Back in Fanelia Van was getting worried that Hitomi hasn't waken up yet. He decides that he will check on her. Van walked up to her door and knocks, no answer. Van walks in to find that Hitomi wasn't there, and her bed was made. Van looks around and finds a note on her night stand, he reads it:
Dear Van,
I have gone to seek advice from an old friend; I maybe gone a few days.
I will try to be back as soon as I can.
Love,
Hitomi
I wonder what was so urgent that she had to leave during the night, I hope she is alright. It's not safe to be out at night.
~*~*~
"You must be hungry from your journey would you like something to eat."
"Sure if it no trouble."
"For you, no trouble at all."
We made our way back to the dining room and we sat down. In a matter of minuets the servants came out with a beautiful breakfast. We ate and we talked, breakfast lasted 2 hours.
"Folken, would I be able to stay the night and go back to Fanelia tomorrow?"
"Of course, I love having you hear." Folken looked at me and smiled. "You look tiered, why don't you take rest in your room."
"My room."
"Yes, the room you stayed in when you were last here."
"I am tiered thank you so much for your hospitality. If you will excuse me I will go take rest."
"Of course, after all you spent most of the night riding here."
I got up and pushed my chair in and left the room. What is with Folken? Why is he being so nice to me? Could it be that Folken is in love with me? No it couldn't be, he's just being nice because I'm about to marry his brother and we would be family.
I go to "my room" and went in and shut the door behind me. I lit my lamp and went to the window and closed the curtains. I climbed into bed and fell asleep.
~*~*~
"Where am I?"
It is so dark, but I can make out a bed, night stand and a table, it all looked so familiar.
"Could I still be in Folken's palace?"
"I am."
I walk to the window and opened the curtains and look outside. I see a little girl with long light blue hair playing on the balcony. She looks up at me and smiles then faded away.
I looked down at my clothe they changed. I wasn't wearing one of my miniskirts or a pastel coloured shirt. I was wearing a long, flowing, dark purple dress that went down to the floor. I had the pendant I gave to van on a gold chain around my neck. My hair was down my back, and it had a bit of a wave. How did my hair grow so much it was just short?
I was playing with my hands and I noticed that there was a different ring on my finger. Where's Van's ring? The ring I had on was Also white gold but with six small diamonds encircling a larger stone but not a sapphire but it was a ruby.
This isn't Vans ring, whose is it? Could this be another vision? Could it be that marrying Van is wrong because I'm supposed to marry someone else?
While I was deep in thought, even in a dream, I didn't hear someone behind me. I felt two arms wrap around my waist, and a masculine body against my back. I heard the mans breath and felt it as he brought his head down and placed his face against my neck. He held me even tighter, it felt so good.
I ran my hand over the mans arms and the one felt strange, I look at it and there were metal bands and plates.
"Folken…" I moaned.
Folken began kissing my neck, "Hitomi…" he moaned "I love you."
~*~*~
I woke up with a start, "Folken." I whispered.
I got up and went to the window, and open the curtains. The sun was setting.
"I must have been exhausted."
What a strange dream, why would I dream about Folken of all people when I'm going to get married to another.
I heard a knock at the door.
"Come in."
In walked the very man from my dreams. At the sight of him I quickly turned my head to hide my red face, remembering my dream.
"What's wrong Hitomi?"
"It's nothing Lord Folken."
"Hmm…nothing got you flustered…right..,"
"Humph."
"I'm just teasing you."
"Okay."
"You had been sleeping all day I just came to check to see if you were alright."
"Thank you for you're concern Folken."
I lay down on my bed; Folken sits on the edge of the bed.
"Hitomi come with me I want to show you something."
I prop myself up on my elbows, "Sure, what is it?"
"It's a surprise."
Folken lead me out side the palace and we ended up on a long walk.
