Chapter Twenty

I was packing my duffel bag with all my belongings. I changed out of my ruined wedding dress. I was crying I didn't want to do this because it would hurt Van but if I stayed it will hurt Van even more.

I was oblivious to the onlooker from my door. He saw me crying and pack up everything nut he decided that it would be best to leave me be, but kept a watchful eye on my so I'd be alright.

Everything was packed and I sat down at the table with paper and a pen. I write Van a goodbye note. I sealed it and put the note on the pillow of my bed. I took the Van's ring off my finger and placed it on top of the note.

I didn't want to go into the halls of the palace. So I carried my bag out onto the balcony and lowered it down to the ground. I climbed down the vines and walked into the shadows, all the way to the stables. It was about 8 pm so the sun was setting.

I got to the stables and prepared Kira for departure.

"Come on Kira lets go."

We left the city behind and continued on a journey to who knows where. I knew one thing I wasn't going to Asturia, Folken's Kingdome and I certainly don't want to return to Fanelia.

It was about midnight when we got to an inn, and we stayed the night.

~*~*~

It was Morning in Fanelia. Allen and Melerna stayed the night to make sure that Van will be alright. Folken left and returned to his kingdom when he saw that Hitomi left.

Van was wide awake but still in bed. Allen and Melerna were the only people in the room.

"Allen where's Hitomi?"

"I don't know Van; nobody has seen her since she left your room. We all assumed she went to her room after but she hasn't come out in a long time. Would you want me to go check on her?"

"Yes Allen. If she is asleep then just let her sleep."

"Alright."

Allen left the room and walked to my door and knocked no answer. He opens the door to find that the bed was made and he takes a closer look and notices that all my belongings are gone. He notices something on my pillow and walks up the bed and picks up the note and the ring.

"She's gone."

Allen ran back to Van's room, and bursts through the door.

"Hitomi is gone!"

"What???" Van and Melerna said simultaneously.

"Hitomi is gone and so are all of Hitomi's belongings, she must have gone in the night. I found a Note on her pillow…along with…"

"With what?"

"The wedding ring." Allen hands Van the note and the beautiful white gold ring with six diamonds and the sapphire.

Van opens the note and reads it:

Dear Van,

By the time you have read this letter I will be long gone.

For the past week I have been really unsure about this marriage,

All the signs told me that this was wrong. I ignored my visions

and tarot readings because I didn't want to believe them.

My readings and visions told me that if this marriage went

through that someone I love will die. That someone was you.

I came so close to losing you yesterday, I love you so much that

I don't want anything to happen you so I think it would be best

that we don't go through with this if fate is so against it. I am

leaving for a place I haven't yet decided, don't bother coming after

me. It would be best if we would go our separate ways, find

someone else who loves you as much or more then I do. I'm sorry.

Love always,

Hitomi

You could tell that the letter contained sad news; Van was on the brink of tears.

"Van what is it? What did Hitomi say?"

"She's not coming back. She said that she left to same my life. She was having visions that this marriage was all wrong, and if we went through with it that I will die. She tried ignoring the visions but yesterday when I got shot she couldn't go through with it. Hitomi told me not to go after her and to marry someone else in time."

"What are you going to do?"

"I don't know."

"Why don't you go after her?"

"I could but she told me not to."

"Well if you still want to remain friends I would suggest going after her, even if you don't plan on marrying."

"I guess."

The doctor came in and interrupted. "If you plan on going anywhere I suggest that you wait 3 days, remember you are still injured."
