The end of the Escaflowne movie, always seems so much more final than the end of the TV series, I mean, after Hitomi went back to Earth, it completely disappeared from the Gaean sky. That always said, "she's not coming back," to me. Hence, this...it's a little cruel to Van, but, well, he is my favorite, therefore he may as well have a big target painted on his shirt. Yeah, LH-chan is that kind of writer. =^_~=

Also, Escaflowne (both the movie, and the series that I'm paying homage to with the line toward the end) does not belong to me, nor does Diamond Rio's song "One More Day" (which definitely inspired this story). Are you surprised? No...I didn't think you would be. =^_^=

...secretly...I wished you'd never find your way back to the Legendary Moon...that you'd stay Fanelia forever...

And as soon as I thought it...

...you found your wings...your beautiful wings...

...and you were gone...

My punishment, perhaps, for thinking of you so selfishly...

...or perhaps, it simply wasn't meant to be...


The Legendary Moon is gone...it appeared in the sky when you came...and vanished once more...after you were gone...

...telling me you won't be coming back...

...to carry on with my life without you...


It takes a special circumstance...like the fate of the planet...to bring the Legendary Moon to Gaea, they say...

...somehow...I doubt the longing heart of two people...one person...has the power to move worlds that way...

...if they did...all the people I remember...from Fanelia before it burned, would not be buried beneath the soil now...

No...you won't be back...I won't see you...

...but I'll remember you...I'll love you...even when I'm old...


And I'll come back to this place sometimes...and dream...

...dream that my wings could carry me to the Legendary Moon as yours carried you...
