AH, THE BITTER SWEET SENSE….

(Remiel is a made up character all others are taken by companies like Bandai and Emotion and the original creator)

*~Ahh yes, of course… the bitter sweet taste of life pours through the rivers of fate. Selfish and prude human beings as we go on living in our own sugar coated worlds forcing ourselves to believe that things seem so right and peaceful. What is peace? Without war there can be no peace… without hate there can be no love. Who are we to judge who is right and who is wrong… what are we? We are the ones that can forget so easily, washing down their sorrows with death forgetting the privileges of living. ~* by… yours truly

Dilandau eyed his Dragon Slayers as he watched them salute him to his return… in body and mind. It had been a pain thinking like a man but having a girl's body, in fact it was downright annoying. "Shesta… where is the Copper Sect. I thought I ordered for all of the Dragon Slayers to be here." He noted to the blond inner Dragon.

"Gomen nasai, but from the loss of contact I believe that the take over of Verniciona then the attack on Diminicus might have wiped them out. The last contact that we had with them was that they defeated Diminicus and that was about it Dilandau-sama." Shesta reported with a bow receiving a frustrated sigh from Dilandau over the situation. <To die that easily meant that they were weak. > He huffed mentally. When a large thud caught his attention, there in the doorway was a girl clad in a copper Dragon Slayer's uniform, which was dirty and bloody from the previous battles. She ran her fingers through her blond bangs brushing up against the small blue orb that dangled from the wire crest that nestled around her forehead as she bowed to Dilandau.

"Who is that?" Dilandau asked Ryuon as he pointed to the girl that kneeled in front of him.

"Oh, she is the General of the Copper Sect. Sir…The only female that was accepted." Ryuon stated as his dark violet eyes stared off at her.

"Oh yes I remember her." Dilandau replied with a wide smile. "What's the news?" he asked Refina as he motioned for her to step forward.

"Sir, the Copper Sect defeated Diminicus."

"Then… where are the others?"

"I killed them."

"Ohh? Is that so… and why's that?" He asked the comment intrigued him that she would announce this with no remorse in her voice. He liked that in a soldier and this woman portrayed it beautifully.

"They slurred your name and dared to rebel against my orders Dilandau-sama" Refina replied, stating what had happened in the shortest of details. She didn't really feel like going into the rape issue with him at this level. She bowed on her knee in front of him to show her respect for him.

<She must be strong to go against so many warriors on her own and be the one to survive… I like her> Dilandau thought to himself as a grin seemed to form in an aura of mischief, taking a seat upon his throne, eyes gazing over the men with amusement growing within him at their loyal ness to his unique but immense power. But his amusement didn't last long as another figure rushed into the room without warning. A young man with light brown hair walked up to the front next to Refina without any note of caution. He seemed to be in his early twenties and a bit muscular, and rather than the Dragon Slayer's uniform, he wore the Zaibach Officer's uniform. He just faced Dilandau and saluted, fist to chest with the widest attention knowing the boy's attitude problem. Of course who wouldn't after the fits of rage that he threw in the past.

"Fucking Christ… don't you know how to knock?" Dilandau asked the mercenary with annoyance slithering through his voice. His blood red orbs eyed the man in front of him carefully. "Who the hell are you?" he asked as he rose from his seat.

"I am Remiel Marichant, I come here on duty by the Zalbaich government"

"Ahh really… interesting indeed although I can see that from your uniform. I'm guessing those government pigs sent you here for a high position. How many have you killed in your lifetime Ramuila?"

"That's Remiel, and around 100 people so far, a lot more than you have with your own bare hands I presume." He taunted with a small smirk that ticked Dilandau off the edge. In the corner of his eye he noted the young blond General stare at him from where she was kneeling with a look that asked him if he wanted a death wish. "The government had paid me to make some adjustments since your men have become lazy since you've been gone." Remiel added as he watched the girl's fist clench even harder, she stood up slowly, turning her head lightly towards Remiel she glared at him with her icy blue eyes. The fact that he disrespected Dilandau-sama infuriated her. Remiel met Refenia in the eyes. His emotionless gaze regarded the fury without care. He knew that she could not do anything to him, for he was higher in ranking that she was. She may have been the general of the Copper Sect but she was still only one of many that were controlled under Dilandau. He and Dilandau were basically of the same ranking in position, both Commanders in ranking. Dilandau still had the true combat control, but Remiel was here to keep things on schedule and to clean up any mess Dilandau could not control.

"Anata wa yakkai no ginkyouku oohi desu" (you are an annoying drama queen) Refina replied to him in her family tongue with hate that was very noticeable. She turned back around towards Dilandau and wouldn't move from her spot until she was told to do so by the only one that she would follow, Dilandau-sama.

Remiel smiled slightly, he rarely did smile, but he found it amusing that Refina would have the spine to cuss him off like that. "You have spine," He told her as he eyed her up and down. "You will go far if you mix courage with caution." He added as he patted her head only to receive the cold chill from her dagger pressing against his side. With that he dropped his arm next to his side again with a smirk still etched on his face. <She of course is a beauty but her attitude was like a wild horse… what to expect from a girl that was qualified enough to become a Dragon Slayer. The Copper Sect are known to be the front line of the Dragon Slayers and the fact that she survived all this time amazes me… but all wild horses can be broken > He thought to himself as his attention drifted from Refina back to Dilandau.

Dilandau looked at Refina, his eyes scanned over her form He was amazed that the Dragon Slayers hadn't gone running to her, raping her or some sort. This woman shouldn't be taken lightly if she survived ranking up in the Copper Sect. He wasn't very surprised to see many of his men looking to Refina with much interest although some of the men had long forgotten about the woman of their dreams and replace it with either him, Shesta, Ryuon, Gatty, Drecon or any of the fairly good looking men that served him. It sent shivers of disgust down his spine as he thought of another male touching him. He shook his head to toss out the images that came to his mind. Sickened with the thoughts he walked to his room where he closed the door behind him and laid on his soft bed without a word.

Remiel watched the retreating form of Dildandau, with his usual stoic face. He turned around towards the Slayers "Dismissed, except for you." He said as he pointed his finger at Refina. She looked at him as the other Dragon Slayers left the room. A light slam of the door told her that all of them were gone. "What?" she asked him harshly with an uncaring look in her eyes that screamed her annoyance of him.

"I have learned that you transferred from the Copper Sect, where you were a General. Why did you come here where you are now just another soldier." He asked as he began to walk around her.

"I am a Dragon Slayer that follows the orders of Dilandau. There is no way that I would ever give that up just because of some damn raking bull shit." Refina replied as she shifted her weight on her right leg while she crossed her arms over her chest with a sigh

The mercenary smiled slightly. " What is so good about Dilandau ? He is vain, his sanity is questionable. What is more, the only thing that makes him a good tactician is the stealth technology. He is an average swordsman, and the only reason Dornkirk kept him was because of his bloodlust. You have wasted your damn opportunity for what?" He asked, not wanting an answer he turned around, but before he left, he looked over his shoulder "Dismissed." He ordered.

She lightly laughed as her anger boiled inside of her in her mind this man was going to pay deeply. She began to move forward towards him, her hands were by her side with small drops of blood dripping from the cracks of her hand from the fact that they were clenched so tight that she drew blood from piercing her skin with her nails. She stopped in front of him and raised her slightly bloody hand high, opened it and quickly dropped it towards his face with enough force to make a dark red mark. She heard the smack of flesh against flesh as she palm made contact with Remiel's face. A small sting took over her hand from the contact. "It is not the fucking government I serve, and what I do with my life is none of your concern. Look at you, preaching about how I wasted my life when you are here as well. What, did you expect me to say 'oh that is so true what have I been doing with my life?' huh?" She asked with a small sneer. "Or maybe you were expecting the little loyal follower approach 'Oh let me follow you master!'" She added as she mockingly bowed to him smiling to herself about the bloody mark that she left on his face. She stood upright again "You are a sore sight and a pain in my ass." She told him as she turned and began to walk towards the door to leave.

He quickly drew his sword and clubbed her over the head with its hilt, causing her to drop to the floor. He stared at her body sprawled out on the floor and regarded her for a few seconds before making his exit from the auditorium. "You will learn to behave in front of me,"

"Fuck you!"

"Anytime." He added sarcastically as he walked out of the double door room. During his way back to the room he thought back to what had just happened in the auditorium. She was lucky to still have her life for striking an officer was usually punishable by death, but why he allowed her to live was even a surprise to him. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he never realized that he had already situated himself in his room. <I know that girl will come to me for some form of revenge. The next time she tries anything, she would receive extreme punishment. She still doesn't get the fact that she is just a regular soldier now. > He noted to himself with a small laugh but then his mind began to wonder why anyone would want to devote his or her lives to such a person as Dilandau? He was an insane bastard with an arrogant and hyper-violent streak, and he also had very little patience. This was a trait that all Commander's should not have, but Dilandau over rided those conditions in a single heartbeat. "So let her come," He announced quietly. "Let the Angel of Death come once more upon her silky black wings and offer me a peace of mind, so that I can reject it once more." He added as he began to laugh at the thought of death. His eyes slowly traveled down to the left side of his face where he noticed a big splotch of blood that outlined a person's hand.

She got up onto her two legs with a smile still on her face. It wasn't that hard to think that the annoying bastard would expect revenge from her. Most men did but of course this man did intrigue her. He'd stand up to her lord and also strike a woman. Most men never lived if they struck her. She pulled the ribbon that tied her hair into a ponytail and allowed her hair to be free. Her golden strands gracefully fell to her back. He could have killed her when she had slapped him and when she was down but the oddity of him not killing her made her think a bit. She walked out of the room not caring that some lustful eyes laid their sights upon her. She walked to her room and closed the door behind her. No one could ever understand why she refused the army and become a Dragon Slayer but herself. She pulled off the dirty copper armor she wore pealing the inner shirt off of her back from the sweat that had caused the fibers to latch on to her bare skin. She lightly walked into the bathroom where she began to scrub her body from dirt and access skin before she began to wash her hair from sand that was collected from the desert. When she finished she threw the remaining cold water on her skin and walked into the outdoor hot springs that were connected to the inside bath. The water lightly stung her pale flesh causing it to redden from the heat. Her mind wandered as she began to think of her father who was a general for Dornkirk and a great one at that but he had died in the war against the winged goddess. She looked on the bed and saw a long black dress waiting for her. The one her father had bought before he went to his death. As a woman she was not allowed to wear men's clothing unless in battle, which was noted as a law by her father and by the Government. She sighed at the thought of her going through the torture of men leering over her again. After ten minutes passed she got out of the hot springs and slipped into the dress. She lifted her leg onto the bed and strapped two daggers to her inner thigh. Once they were straitened she placed her leg back on the floor and straitened out the dress before she walked out of the room. She needed a walk around the area to think of things that were happening she soon found herself in the garden.

Dilandau had awakened from his small nap in a cold sweat. The room was still lit and the air around him was cool, as night had awoken from its slumber. He shook his head lightly as he crawled out of bed and into his armor. He would take a small walk around the castle area for a while and catch a breath of fresh air. As he walked on the overpass over the courtyard he noticed Refina in a long black dress stand in front of the rose bushes. He watched her quietly. It was very odd to see a female walk around the area of an all male populated area in a dress no less. Of course that had already been done when Dilandau went through his small faze as Celena. He shook his head lightly as he threw the image out of his head, his silvery strands of hair shifted back and forth with his movements. He hated being that helpless girl her actions were too kind and sweet that it made him gag in agony and annoyance. All that remained of that trivial girl was an essence of her existence to her loved ones. Quite fun in fact… tearing apart loved ones from each other, it made his heart beat a tune of happiness every time he thought of the conflict him and Alan would have.

Remiel stood on his small private balcony, watching Refina in the rose garden. The black roses that were blooming so nicely matched well with the black dress she had on with her lightly tanned skin. To him the roses equally symbolized Dilandau's taste for blood and his insanity. It had just so happened that she was there when he decided to take a break from the boring paper work he had to do. He smiled slightly "You do know that you kill the beauty of the roses by standing next to it, why not stand next to something that actually tries to make you more attractive?" He screamed out. An utter lie for he had just imagined her pretty face wither in pleasure under his body.

Refina turned around her face had an expression of pure hate in eminent in her eyes. "Why don't you go fuck yourself? It might relieve your stress asshole!" She screamed back.

"My what a filthy mouth you have! Someone needs to whip you into shape… lord knows that Dilandau won't."

"Oh aren't we the scary one?"

"How pathetic is it for you to waste everything for a selfish, insane, and blood thirsty child like Dilandau. It was pure stupidity on your part to abandon your position within the Copper Sect for this job that's beneath your abilities"

"In case you haven't known this the Copper Sect. runs under Dilandau-sama as Dragon Slayers. In other words I have the same ranking as I did there. All you are is a damn mercenary with no Idea in what you are doing and what you are about to do so leave others out of you little pathetic life. You may be here because of money but I am here out of my own free will to serve the man that I honor and love."

A smile reached Dilandau's lips. It seemed that Remiel had found an interest in her like most of her men. Yet it seemed she was 120% loyal to Dilandau and no one else… <Loyal and speaks her mind… she would work well as one of my top Dragon Slayers> he thought to himself as he continued to watch the situation from where he was located.

"You'll die easily in this world if you keep that annoying tongue of yours" Remiel replied with dark tone of voice.

"As long as I continue following Dilandau-sama that's fine with me." She replied as she grabbed one of the daggers from her thigh and flung it at him. In a flash he grabbed the dagger two inches away from his face and a small smirk formed as he watched the girl walk off. "enjoying the show kid?" he asked as he turned to Dilandau's direction with a strait face.

"Of course the fact that she crushed you like a bug entices me. Good night Remiel… oh and a root of warning… keep that attitude and I'll be sure to kill you happily." Dilandau replied as he walked off into his room with a smile on his face. <I will kill you anyways for mocking me> he cursed as he imagined the man's head impaled to a stake.

~In The Airship~

"Lord Van, we will be approaching Austria in an hour so I would say wake Lady Hitomi up." Alan noted to Van as he kept his face forward. It pained him over and over at the thought of her being with Van instead of him but the way he himself treated her was like a porcelain doll that was not to be broken in any way. It was going to be a long trip and a small feeling of horror overcame him… he had a bad feeling that something unpredictable was to happen that he would lose someone very special to him. He looked at Hitomi who had just walked into the room with Van by her side. <Are we going to loose her too?> he thought in horror.
