Chapter 1

Dena Takichina Khan was your average 14-year-old girl. She lived in America, she hanged out with her friends, and of course she had her boyfriend, Jeremiah AbduloJabar. Everyone, including Dena, just called him Jeremy. Jeremy was the one to say one thing and either mean something else or just not mean anything period. He was pretty competitive, especially when it came all down to his popularity at his school. If anyone did anything to keep him from staying at number 1, he would become enraged. This usually happened to Dena. Everytime Dena would out do Jeremy in something he would get so mad that he would leave her. Dena was always brokenhearted because of this. But then, out of the blue, Jeremy would apologize and they would kiss and make up.
Anyway one fateful day things changed for Dena Takichina Khan as well as Jeremiah AbduloJabar.

It all started on the day of the long awaited track team race. It was Jeremy's hard trained (not to mention very handsome) team against Dena's team, which consisted of all of her good friends. "The race will begin in 5 minutes!" the referee shouted. Jeremy's team began to cheer, because they figured they would win…well most of them did. Jeremy knew that Dena was a pretty good runner, with her long legs; she could outrun almost anyone she wanted to. So, he decided he had better go make a little deal with her. He walked over to Dena and said, "Dena, let me talk with you for a moment." "I'll be right back you guys." Dena said to her friends as she followed Jeremy. Dena was a little angry with Jeremy for interrupting her. "Jeremy, I was talking to my-" "So what?" Jeremy said, "This is more important than mere friends." "Mere friends?" Dena said giving him a look. Jeremy sighed a little annoyed. "Listen. This is all I want you to do. Let me win, just this once. Please, I need this one." "Jeremy we've gone through this over and over again, I can't just 'let you win'. You have to-" "Earn it for yourself." Jeremy said in an annoying mimicking tone. "Shut up Jeremy." Dena said while walking off. Jeremy, really ticked off grabbed Dena hard by her arm and said, "Don't you even think about talking like that. Especially if you don't even say it to my face." "Hey kid! Leave that girl alone." The referee said. "But sir she's my-" "I don't care even if she was ya' mama!" the referee said, "You don' hurt a lady like 'dat 'ya understand?" "Yes sir." Jeremy said giving Dena a revengeful look. Dena rolled her eyes. "Why does he ALWAYS have to act like this?" Dena thought to herself.
After a moment, some of Dena's friends came running up to her. "What's up with Jeremy? Why did he grab you like that?" "Oh we always go through this," Dena began, " he asked me to 'let him win' but I refused again so he got mad and blah blah blah." "Well if he's so afraid of you, why don't you stand up to him?" "Oh…I don't know…well anyway, lets show him how us girls can kick butt!" "Yeah! Woohoo!" all the girls shouted. They all put their hands in the center and cheered, "Gooooooo Girlz!" Then the girls began cheering again. "Heh heh heh!" All the boys laughed, "Yeah they're really gonna show us…" "C'mon leave them alone." Jeremy said, "and don't even think about dissin' my girl." All the boys oohed Jeremiah and Jeremiah gave them a look. Soon all the boys hushed.

After the five minutes were up, the two teams got ready to race.
"Ready!….Set….GO!" a gun was shot and they were off. Most of the racers started out very fast, a big mistake. As soon as they started running, they were exhausted after about 2 minutes. Most of the racers made it for about 5 minutes and then collapsed on the ground exhausted. After a while it was the final lap. Only Dena, Jeremy, and a few of his friends were left. Dena's heart was pounding and sweat was rolling down her face.
"Oh my God, I hope I can win this." Dena thought as she kept running, breathing heavily. She felt like her legs were falling apart and that she was going to collapse at any moment. All of a sudden, Dena saw someone right in front of her. It looked like a girl with long hair at first. Dena breathed out, "Hey! Girl! Get out of the way!" Suddenly the blonde man turned around and looked at Dena. Dena was amazed at how handsome he was and how beautiful his eyes were. Dena then ran right through him. She shook her head in disbelief. "Oh I must be going crazy…" Dena thought aloud and then continued running.
When Dena was getting to the finish line, she looked back to see who was behind her. She only saw Jeremy, who then gave a look of shock on his face and ran faster. Dena knew what was coming if she didn't give up, but she continued on anyway. She ran right to the finish.

"And the winner is Dena!" the judges shouted. All of Dena's friends and family were cheering for her. Her mother came running up to her and said, "I'm so proud of you!" and gave her a hug. Dena was beginning to walk over to her friends when she was slapped. "You bitch!" Jeremy said, "I hate you! I'm the only one good enough for you and you still treat me this way!" Everyone was in shock. "Jeremy why did you?-" "Shut-up mother!" Jeremy shouted to his mother. "Hey hey hey! Break it up! Break it up!" the referee said dragging Jeremy by the ear, "Boy what the hell is wrong with you?!….." Dena looked back at Jeremy with a confused look on her face. "Dena, this time it's over for sure!" he shouted, "I never want to see your ugly face again!" "What is wrong with you Jeremy?" Dena said confused and angry and sad all a the same time, "You were never like this until your father…" "Shut up woman!" he said slapping her again. "All right that's it!" Dena's mother said walking up to Jeremy's mother, "If you don't stop your moronic son from hurting my daughter, I…I'll make sure you'll regret it." "Oh yes mamn!" the mother said walking angrily towards Jeremy.
Meanwhile Dena had tears rolling down her face. "Oh why does my beloved have to act this way?! Last year he was fine! We got along really well, we never fought like this..it's as if..as if.." "As if he's actually a big jerk off!" Dena's mother said hugging her close. "Listen Dena, there are better guys out there! Forget him…Tell you what, why don't you go with your girlfriends to go cruise the mall or go walking in the park to get your mind off him?" then she handed Dena a $100 bill. "Be home by 9:30." "Thanks mom." Dena said giving her a hug. Dena walked over to her friends and they all went to the locker room to change. Dena changed into her sleeveless green shirt with dark blue jeans and big, black shoes.

Dena and all of her girlfriends walked and talked in the park together. They were talking about cute boys when suddenly Dena remembered the vision she had earlier. She remembered that he had gloriously long, shinny blonde hair with these amazing deep blue eyes; he looked handsome enough to win over even the most beautiful girl in the world. "Who is that guy, and why could I only see him for one brief moment." She began to think. "Dena I hope you still ain't thinking about Jeremy…are you?" one of her friends asked. "No." Dena said looking at the sky, "Someone else..." "Oh oh! You have to tell me this one!" her friend began, "Who is he? Tell me!"
"Well…I….I don't know…" Dena said looking at the ground. Suddenly she heard something that just fell in the grass right next to her. It was a mysterious looking necklace with a shinny red pendant on it. "All right my day's gotten better all ready!" Dena said picking it up. "What is it?" her friends asked. "It's a weird looking necklace with a pendant!" Dena replied. Then she began to swing it back and forth…and after a moment noticed something remarkable. "Guys check this: look how the pendant swings." The girls looked at the pendant for a moment. After about a minute they said, "Uh…what? It's just swinging back and forth…" "No! Not at all!" Dena said, "Look at how the pendant moves. It moves back and forth at the same pace everytime, never slowing down or stopping." "Oh…." The girls said finally noticing.

Then the strangest and most unusual thing happened to Dena Takichina Khan.

A bright blue ray of light zapped down right over on Dena. Dena looked up and saw the ray of light above her. "What the-" Suddenly she was floating up towards the bright light. She began yelling in fear, "Hey! Where Am I going?! What?!" She floated up higher and higher until was about 12 stories high. She screamed in fear. The last thing she heard before leaving was Jeremiah AbduloJabar's voice yelling for her….

When she woke up, she realized she wasn't in the park anymore. She was in this deep, dark, cool forest. "Whoa, where am I?" Dena asked. Dena looked around for a minute. Soon she realized she didn't recognize anything. "Oh god.." she said putting her head in her hand. She then felt something in her hand. She noticed she still had the mysterious pendant she had picked up earlier. She looked at it for a while, swinging it back and forth, back and forth. She soon got bored with it so she put it into her pocket. She sat down on a tree stump nearby. "How did I get here," she began sulking, "I feel so lost." "I can change that for you honay!" a dorky sounding voice said. "What?!" Dena said getting afraid, "Who are you?"

Soon she felt someone behind her touching her back. She turned around quickly and saw a fat, ugly looking man. He was bald and wore these queer looking glasses. "Who….what are you?" She asked disgusted. "Mr. Mole." He said bowing before the lady. Then he gave Dena a devilish look and began walking up to her. "What….what..what..dd..do you want from me?" Dena asked becoming more and more afraid. He laughed in a creepy way and began to embrace her. "Get off Me!" Dena began pushing him away. It didn't help. He sniffed her body, slowly. "Oh great! I'm taken away from my own world just to be raped by a stupid Mole Man! Oh god….." He began to lick her back. Dena was right then paralyzed with fear. Then he began to slowly pull down her shirt. "STOP IT!" Dena shouted slapping him across the face. She knew she was very frightened and probably was going to have a heart attack and die, but she had to get away somehow. She kicked his leg very hard and got him down to the ground. Then she started running for her life across this field nearby. She ran as fast as she could, but she fell on the way. Quickly she got up, only to be grabbed by the Mole Man firmly. Dena was just horrified at what was going on. She tried to get out of his grip, but the more she moved, the tighter he grabbed her. Soon the mole man began to kiss her neck. "Oh my god!" Dena screamed with tears in her eyes, "Someone help me PLEASE! Please! For the love of G-" The Mole man put his hand on her mouth and pushed her down to the ground. "There no one to stop us now honey…heh heh heh." Dena began to cry bitterly. "Oh God, I'm doomed." She thought suddenly, " Oh god. please…get me out of this!"

The Mole man sat up from her for a moment and began to take off his shirt. Dena began to cry even more. Suddenly someone punched the mole man right off of her. Dena, thinking fast, got up and ran back and sat down on two knees. The man then took out a sword and looked angrily into the mole man's eyes. "God, I've never seen anyone, especially a man, look that mad in my life!" she thought. He went right up to the fat, ugly Mr. Mole and grabbed him. "How dare you touch this woman you disgusting pervert!" he said pushing him down. The Mole Man was totally freaking out now. "Well…I was just…" "Be careful with how you use your words Mr. Mole," the man said getting prepared to attack with his sword, "I'm not in the mood to hear your pathetic excuses for trying to rape this woman. In fact she's too precious for anyone like you to even touch." The Mole Man looked at the man, then looked at a bewildered Dena, and then at the man again. "You have ten seconds to get the hell out of here you disgusting pig you!" the man said getting very ticked off. The Mole Man immediately ran off screaming like a girl.
The man then looked at Dena. Dena then realized it wasn't just any man, it was the man she saw in her vision, during her track race. Dena was speechless as she looked up towards the man. He was even more handsome looking in person. He wore an outfit that Dena had never even seen before. She wanted to say something like 'Thank you.', but she was completely speechless in shock and bewilderment.

The man began to slowly walk up to Dena, now with a gentle, comforting look in his eyes. He bent down to Dena's level and said gently, "Don't let that Mole Man scare you, as long as I am here, you are surely safe. My name is Allen Schezar, I am a knight of Asturia." Dena Takichina Khan looked into the eyes of Allen Schezar. They were so comforting, and so deep. Then she had a sudden urge to cry, she grabbed Allen and began to cry on his shoulder. "Oh my god…. Thank you so much Allen! I thought I was going to die right then and there! God bless you Allen Schezar! Oh God! I'm sorry!" She quickly came back to her senses and got off of Allen. She knew that he probably thought of her as a freak now because she had just grabbed him like he was just some friend of hers. She looked into his eyes again, and then she threw herself on her side on the ground and cried hysterically.

While crying she was picked up gently by the man and he turned her face gently towards his and he wiped off her tears with his glove. "I am a knight of Asturia. It is my duty as a knight, no as a man, to make sure you are safe." "Thank you Allen." Dena said smiling a little blushing a bright red. "My name is Dena. Dena Takichina Khan." "Hmmm." Allen said thinking, "Dena…I like that…pleased to meet you Dena." He said smiling. Dena flashed a bright smile back at Allen. He laughed amused and began to brush his hand through her hair. Suddenly he shook his head and then said to Dena, "Oh I can't just leave you here…come with me back to the Crusade ship, I'm sure you are extremely exhausted." "Well I am a little…." Dena said trying not to sound like she was going to be a big problem to Allen. "Oh I'm sure you are." He said smiling, "Don't worry I'll have you taken care of by my sister." He then began to run through the forest, still holding Dena, towards a big ship in the distance.

After a few minutes they arrived on the ship, the Crusade. Dena looked all around her. She saw a bunch of men all in a crowd sitting together when they noticed them. The men began to ooooo at Allen and laugh like crazy. "Hey guys, how come it's always Allen that brings the girls home?" One shouted. "Hey Allen! Let us have this one for once please?" Everyone began cracking up. Then one of the fat ones said, "Hey let him have her, she ain't that lovely anyway." Dena was a little hurt by that so she just looked at the floor shamefully. "Hey little lady it ain't that bad," another one of them said, "you could always go with the Mole man!" "DON'T MENTION THAT NAME!" Dena shouted burying herself into Allen. "Shut up Marcus." Allen said looking at him, "Everyone that's enough! She's in shock. Leave her alone!" Everyone quieted down.

Suddenly a pretty girl about Dena's age came walking towards Allen. "Oh, welcome back brother!" Cerena said smiling at him. "Ah Cerena," Allen began, "You look quite lovely tonight." "Oh Allen stop!" she said giggling. She then noticed the girl that Allen was holding in her arms. "Oh Allen, who is this girl you found?" She asked. "This is Dena, I think she is from the Mystic Moon like Hitomi was." Allen said pointing towards the Earth. "I guess here they call my home the mystic moon." Dena thought to herself. "Oh really? You poor thing." Cerena said, "Allen set her down! I'm sure she can stand up by now!" Allen sighed and did as he was told. Dena looked at Cerena and smiled. "Hello there." "So your name is Dena?" she asked "Yes." Dena said. "what a nice name!" Cerena said smiling, "Tell me Dena, what happened to you before Allen found you?" "Uhh…I'd rather not talk about it…" Dena answered. "I understand." Cerena said. Cerena and Dena smiled at each other. They both had a funny feeling they were going to get to know each other very well. "Cerena could you do her a favor?" Allen asked finally," "by helping her get cleaned up and everything. Earlier the Mole Man attempted to rape her…" All of Allen's men began to crack up. "See I told you she could only get the Mole Man!" one of them shouted. Dena looked at the floor and began to cry. She figured that they were right. "Hey hey hey!" one of the men shouted, "Once Allen says that's enough, that's enough, now shut up!" Everyone shut up. "Thank you Gaddas." Allen said, "Cerena could you do that for me?" "Sure don't worry." She said, "I'll even talk to her to give her comfort." "Good." Allen said, "Now you go off and take care of that." Cerena began to walk and Dena followed, but before Dena went up the stairs with Cerena, she decided to watch Allen for a while.
"All right you guys," Allen began, "if you think you're so slick, wait till you see what I'll have you do tomorrow!" All the guys groaned in annoyance and mumbled a bunch of stuff. Dena soon was caught up in the thought of Allen. It seemed as if he was all a dream or a vision. Suddenly Allen turned around and noticed Dena. Dena was startled and then Cerena dragged her away telling her to come on.

Allen smiled.
