The White Dragon

Once, life was hopeless.

Nobody could even begin to see

How desolate my world was.

One tried to lift my spirits,

But she was too late;

I was too deep into dispair.

Then, out of the shadows he came.

He said that together,

We could change destiny; alter fate.

As he reached his hand out to me,

I became afraid and drew back.

He looked at me as he was engulfed

In the inky blackness.

He was gone.

A strange light glowed in the sky.

No, not a light,

A new world.

I felt myself be surrounded by the water.

The cruel, unfeeling water that rose

Above my knees until it engulfed me.

I managed one last scream

As it closed over my head.

Just when I felt my spirit

Being set free,

The water surpressed its hold on me.

As it rushed away, I once again felt

Life return to my battered form.

A door opened, and I fell.

Fell out of my cage into your arms,

My darling.

But I did not know it was you.

A stranger, I saw. A stranger

With deep brown hair and amber eyes.

Terrified, I was, in the arms of a stranger.

But you comforted me,

And swore to protect me,

As was your way.

You helped me to my feet, and as I rose

I turned to see my prison.

But a cage it was not.

A giant. A mechanical giant.

For fighting, you told me,

As this land was at war.

You took my hand and led me

Outside, where I saw that it was

Not just the land, but the

Whole world at war. In the sky,

I could see the earth and the moon.

I asked where I was and you replied,

"My homeland."

You re-entered the building,

A temple, I thought, and returned

Inside the mechanical giant.

You stretched out its hand and

Picked me up. I shuddered at its

Cold touch. Suddenly, your grip

Released on me. From withinn the giant,

I heard your gasp of pain. Them,

Your grip tighened and somehow

You made the giant walk.

Then suddenly I saw

Two more giants. They turned and then

Shot at us. But not with bullets,

With silver claws of mercury.

I screamed, and you somehow

Changed the giant into a

Dragon. I know not how, but

Suddenly we were flying. Away

From the enemy to a huge planeship

Hovering in the night sky. As we

Landed, the dragon changed back

Into the giant. It opened up, and

Out you fell. I ran to you and

Reached you at the same time as

The catgirl. Your best friend,

She said she was. I stared at

You, aghast. It appeared that

Blood. You opened your eyes and I

Almost fully healed. I felt

Safe. Suddenly, a surprise

Attack from the enemy. You climbed

Blond man into his. You yelled at

Stay there. Then you and the

Other man rushed off. The

Red haired girl went with the

Other men to fight in

Hand to hand combat. I watched

Restlessly as the catgirl's

Pink head moved across the room

As she paced. Just when I couldn't take

Everyone else returned. The enemy

Had fallen. But just a

Small portion of it, as I was to

Many times. Luckily for us, we

I hear singing. A strange girl

Appeared before me suddenly.

Beautiful, she was, with white hair and

Pointed ears, but, oh so sad.

She asked me to join with their side;

Strange world. Suddenly, the man

Appeared before me and grabbed

My arm. I screamed, and out of

Nowhere you appeared, my beloved.

You pulled out your sword and

I gazed into your eyes and everything was.

Mind. The next morning I woke early.

Early that evening, the enemy

Then, a look of panic. He yelled my

Name and ran towards me.

I turned and saw a giant

Shooting a metal claw at me.

I jumped out of its path.

Suddenly, the ground

Fell away. I was

Falling. I heard you

Jumped after me.

I screamed.

But then you grabbed my wrist and

Pulled me into

Your arms.

I looked at you and gasped.

Sprouting from your back were

Wings. I stared at them and whispered,

"An angel." You smiled

Tenderly and flew us to

Safety.

As we flew over the others,

One of them cried out, "It's a dragon!

A white dragon!"

You put me down, and

Folded your wings into your

Back. After that, everything

Changed. I began to feel

Differently about you. That's why,

When the enemy returned, I

Begged you not to go.

But you said you must. You

Climbed into your giant and

Left to fight. The red-haired girl

Told me not to worry-

That you would return. Then,

"What dragon?" Then he unsheathed his

Sword and pointed it at my

Neck. I trembled. Suddenly,

Another pillar of light appeared, and

Sword. You told him to let me

Go. The man just grinned and

Struck at you.

You doged it and struck back.

I screamed, but you both just

Kept fighting. The

I collapsed on the floor and looked

Destroying your homeland.

Then I heard a yell and

Started to dissolve. The girl

Touched his hand and started to

Now be peace as she faded away.

Days later, I was walking along

With you when I heard the girl's

Strange song once more. I knew then

That I had to leave.

You heard it not, but when

Wings appeared upon my back,

You knew.

Then I disappeared.

I never even got to say how I feel,

But I know you know that I love you,
