Bottom line: I don't own them I just like to play God with them. Like an ant walking back and forth across my feet for what seems like miles upon miles. Or an bug with a magnifying glass as it slowly burns into nothingness. *Ahem* Yes, I don't own them. Never have. Never will. *Sigh* And the title, Sooner or Later comes from the song You'll Find Out that belongs to Oleander and several other people that associate with them (but that is only for the disclaimer of the title...)

"Ok!" Ken yelled up at the heavens, "This is *really* getting freaky! Is this some weird cosmic joke on Ken?! Because if it is, I'm not laughing!"
"Yelling at the sky won't do you any good," Kase said patiently.
"I sent you to hell… twice!"
"Only once my dear Kenken."
"I am not your dear Kenken," he growled.
"No? No, not anymore. Hell does that to a person."
"What does that mean? What do you want? Why are you here? Why are you *alive*?"
"I could cite a person I once knew… 'I don't like hell.' But you knew that."
"You still need to answer my other questions."
"I am here because you are here and I want *you* to suffer as I have."
~*~
"Yohji-kun has to be *somewhere* in the city!" Omi sighed. He had been around a mile radius of the Koneko and had found no sign of the other blonde.
He rounded a corner and was floored. Yohji was making out with some woman with red hair, when he was *supposed* to be locating Ken!
"We have a spectator, schatz," the redhead chuckled, breaking away.
Omi inconspicuously dropped one of his darts into his hand.
"Ano… Omi?!"
"Yohji-kun!!!!!! You're supposed to be finding Ken-kun! And here you are making out with a *Schwarz*!!"
"Omi! Calm down! Please! Whatever you do, *don't* tell Aya!"
The blonde, however, was too shocked to actually *hear* Yohji at the moment, which Schuldich relayed to him.
"Do something about it, Juu!"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm on it." The German whipped Omi's mind to shake him out of shock and it was effective.
"Itai!" Omi protested, "Yohji-kun! What are you doing with that *male Schwarz* ?!"
"Please, Omi! Don't tell Aya!"
"Mou! First tell me what's going on!"

Crawford's head was swimming when he regained consciousness and it was not a pleasant felling. Ken was arguing with someone that he could not see clearly, but the clothing indicated a male from the modern time period.
Where were his glasses?
He ran a hand down his face in attempt to clear his senses, the stubble on his chin scratching it. Great, he needed to shave.
"I want you to suffer as I have," the stranger sneered.
"Let me get this straight. You came to the *past* just to make my life hell?"
"Yeah…"
"You have no life."
"I'm dead, Kenken," Kase drawled.
Kenken? Crawford raised an eyebrow; that was almost as bad as 'Bradbrad.' Wait… the other man was dead?!
Glasses? Where did his glasses go?
Then he realized that he was in Ken's arms; blushing was not beyond him. Within seconds he was on his feet and his head severely disagreed with the quick movement, causing Crawford to stumble to his knees again.
Ken caught him again as he fell.
"Hmph, maybe he is stronger than I thought… He wasn't to wake up yet!"
"Never underestimate the power of the Schwarz…" Crawford managed.
"Shut up, you're in no position to talk of strength, kusoyaro," Ken chided.
"You are showing compassion… the same compassion that you showed me."
"That's right, 'showed', now I hold nothing toward you but a strong sense of loathing," he snarled. "Now you are my enemy. Just like him!" He dropped Crawford without ceremony.
"Fucker," the American grunted as he hit the ground.
"Yet you want him."
Ken's eyes grew impossibly wide as he ignored the cursing man, and then blushed.
"He thrills you, doesn't he?" Kase hissed, "He's your enemy even before me. You're attracted to that aren't you? You want him to use you, to beat you, to fuck you - "
"Enough!!" Ken shouted, and then softer repeated it, "Enough."
"Ken…" Crawford asked, looking up; he was in no condition to get up again, no matter what his mind kept telling his body.
"He's dead, don't listen to him."
Oh, yes, that made sense… but it did not answer the question.
Crawford rolled his eyes but did not press the issue this time.
"Kase, why are you doing this?"
"You killed me!"
"Get beyond that, Kase! Why did I kill you?"
Kase paused.
"You killed my soccer career, Kase. You made me a killer."
"Umm… Kenken, that's not how it happened."
"Yes it was! Open your damn eyes!"
"I don't think you want that. I will go straight to hell and the Tatarimokke will do the honors."
"So… you haven't been to hell?" What was with this place?
"Damn you, Ken, for damning me!"
"You damned yourself!"
"I did not!"
"You did too!"
Crawford groaned. Did Ken have to argue with everyone?
"You don't want to kill me! You already have!" Ken shouted.
"You…you're right…" Kase's person turned from opaque to translucent and then was gone. A giant tadpole creature floated behind his vanished form until it too disappeared.
Ok, screw everything else: that was the strangest thing ever!
With both disappearances, Crawford's headache had vanished.
"So… what was that?" Crawford tried to sound nonchalant and failed miserably; it was just not his style.
"That is none of your concern," Ken bit out stubbornly, returning Crawford's glasses.
"It is if he poisons me."
"Oh… so it is."
"Well?" It was impossible to keep from prying.
"Maybe later."
~*~
"Crawford is in the well with Ken-kun!!" Omi yelped in surprise, attracting the unwanted attention of the passersby.
"Yes," Yohji sighed. At least Omi was a tad more comfortable with Yohji's sexuality and Schuldich being there. "That's why I didn't tell Aya all the details of Ken's disappearance."
"I don't blame you for not telling him, but…"
"But what?"
"He's going to be mad if he comes out dead."
"I don't think that will happen," Schuldich interjected "The Brad killing Ken part."
"Are?"
"What do you mean by that, Juu?"
"I've tapped into Brad's dreams on more than one occasion," he gave a cocky grin.
"What does that have to do with Ken-kun?"
Schuldich's grin widened.
"You *can't* be serious?!" Yohji's jaw dropped.
"Quite serious, schatz." //When you're not around, I get off on them.//
"Wa~ay too much information!"
"Yohji-kun with a Schwarz, then a Schwarz dreaming of a Weiß, what next?!"
"Well, I always thought that you would end up with Nagi…" Yohji answered pensively.
"What?!"
"But he's with Farfie instead, and you're with Aya," the German continued where Yohji left off.
"Why would I want to know this?!"
"Well, I've tapped into your dreams as well…"
"Stay out of my head!"
"I don't think he needs to be in your head to know of you and Aya."
"Mou! Yohji-kun! Not you too!"
"Omi, please don't tell Aya of any of this conversation," Yohji begged. If begging meant that he would not die by Aya's hands then so be it.
"What conversation?"
"Good boy," Yohji smiled.
"No, really, what conversation?"
"JUU!"
~*~
"It's getting dark again," Crawford observed.
"I'm not sleeping on the ground again!" Ken insisted.
"Then where do you plan to sleep?"
"I…I don't know! But I'm not sleeping on the ground!"
"Are you going to sleep in the air, like you planed to do last time?"
"Hey! I just don't want to sleep on the ground!"
"You're already filthy, what damage would it prevent?"
"Look! All I'm saying is that we should find civilization!"
"Well, I don't see any civilization, do you? And even if we did, do you think that they would allow a demon into their hut? I thought not." Crawford was now looming over Ken.
"I just don't want to - "
Crawford bent his head to cover Ken's mouth with his own. It was chaste, but a kiss nonetheless.
"Shut up," Crawford ordered when they parted. "You talk too much. Take first watch if you don't want to sleep on the ground."
What sense did *that* make?
The American left Ken alone with his thoughts and tingling lips.
~*~
"Why did Omi have to come looking for me?" Yohji complained. He wasn't as angry as he was exasperated. "And why didn't you tell me that Omi was looking for me?"
"Schatz, calm down, I don't know all and we were in the middle of a city block," Schuldich protested.
"Are you still mad at me for standing you up?"
"Yes!" The German turned his nose up in the air.
"Is there any way that I can make it up?" Yohji offered huskily.
"I can think of something…" The redhead pounced. "Nagi showed me something that I want to try…No he didn't show me *that* way, baka!"
"As long as I'm back for the mission tonight."
~*~
"Yohji, you're late."
"Well, duh, Aya, I already know that. Did I miss anything?"
"Not much, Yohji-kun," Omi smiled.
"See?"
"We have a mission to complete and we found a location. The police scanner said that there was a break in at the Higurashi Shrine regarding an unidentifiable blob of flesh with the face of a Noh mask," Omi briefed.
"Well, that's gross. Iku yo, ne?"
~*~
"That was a waste. I knew it before the mission even began." Even Aya had to agree with Yohji on this one. By the tine they had arrived at the sense of the mask, a white-haired demon was already in the process of destroying it.
"But now we can concentrate fully on getting Ken back."
