Plans were carefully sketched out and put into action. Schuldig, Skye and Star made certain that everyone received VIP invitations to the party being planned at the Tokyo club in two weeks. Things had settled down to a dull roar at the Red Shaman compound.
Crawford, Farfarello, Aya and Ken had all gone back to Tokyo to make certain everything was progressing there. Blaze had gone home to spend some much needed time with her husbands. Omi and Nagi insisted on staying with Ghost. They had both even gone so far as to tell Sunny that they'd be staying in her room. Star had to restrain him for the better part of the day and well into the evening. (She locked him into the manacles mounted to the wall of her room.) No one had any idea why Yohji was still there.
No one thought they'd be able to detach Schuldig from Skye unless they used a crowbar and possibly dynamite. Though Schuldig was naturally a touchy feely kind of person he suddenly seemed to need constant contact with Skye. When she wasn't in his line of vision he would start to almost panic. Evenings were usually spent with him wrapped around her in some way or another while she was reading, watching television or whatever. Skye never objected, she just brushed his hair back from his face and smiled at him.
Star thought they were both acting far too strange for the little game they were playing. She was getting worried about both of them.

Skye was startled but hardly surprised to find herself yanked sideways into one of the empty rooms in the house by her sister.

“Cinnamon Magnolia Wallace, what the hell is going on with you?” Star asked.

“Oh. Like that is it, Saffron Rose?” Skye said, glaring at her.

“Yech! Our mother must have been on drugs.”

“She was. Opium if I recall correctly. Any particular reason you used my real name. You know those are fighting words.”

“Thought it would get your attention. Now, what is going on with you and Schuldig? And don't tell me it's part of the game you two are playing with Oracle and Sunny because I know it's bullshit. Oracle is in Japan and Sunny is gone half the time when you two are doing the weird snuggle thing. So, spill!”

“I can't.

“Why the hell not?”

“There's a confidence involved and I was asked not to tell anyone.”

“Shit. And you take a code of honor seriously.”

“Yes. I certainly do.”

“Hmm. I bet I can guess,” Star said shrewdly, looking at her sister from the corner of her eye. “You must have seen something that involved Schuldig. Has to have been something fairly bad for him to swear you to silence.” Star suddenly turned to Skye, her eyes widening in shock. “Oh, no way! What the hell did you tell him for? You know that will just make him crazy. It's one thing to think about it happening during a mission, it's another thing entirely to be certain of it.”

“He was with me when I had the vision. It just sort of . . . slipped. You can't say anything about it either, Star. Especially not to Oracle. Schuldig stressed that point.”

“Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!”

“Will you stop that.”

“No chance. You know he's going to follow him if he goes, right. He loves him too much not to.”

“I know. I just can't break a confidence.”

“Then at least find out from Gran if they're going the same general direction. Now, stand back.”

“Why? Where are you going, Star?”

“To kick a certain annoying precog's ass up between his ears. I may tackle Ran while I'm at it,” Star said.

“Why Ran?”

“Because he's being thickheaded. Oracle's just being stubborn and desperately needs to grow a set of balls,” she said and vanished.

“Goddess help both of them,” Skye said, rolling her eyes.

Star didn't bother arriving outside of the penthouse but materialized inside. Almost causing Farf to drop one of the knives he was juggling.

“Star! What are you doing here?” he said coming over to her. “Not that I mind. Missed me that much? I've only been gone a little over two days.”

She grinned and winked at him. “Sorry, not right now. It is good to have you back though. Where's Oracle?”

“In his office. Working, for a change.”

Star slammed into Crawford's office a few minutes later.

“What the hell is going on here?” he demanded.

“Here is what's going on, Oracle. You are going to go to Schuldig and tell him how you really feel about him. No bullshit, no head games, no “I am Brad Crawford and no one will ever think of me as weak”, or any other kind of excuse you might come up with. Or else,” she said, putting her hands on the desk and leaning forward.

“Or else what?” Crawford said. “I will not be threatened . . .”

Star glared down at him. “You know better. You know I don't make threats. I make promises. And I can promise that if you don't do this within the next week or so there will be consequences you will not appreciate.”

He paled a little. “Such as?” He was relieved that his voice only squeaked a little.

“I will get into your head and pull out everything you have to hide and make it come out of your own mouth. Starting with when you got the cocoa puff stuck up your nose when you were four.”

“You wouldn't!”

“Try me!”

A very similar ultimatum was issued to Aya not half an hour later. Though the starting point was revised to telling Aya-chan about who had eaten her pet goldfish on a dare.
