Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction / Yami No Matsuei Fan Fiction ❯ Red Shaman ❯ Hitting the Wall ( Chapter 62 )

The Red Shaman team had taken up positions in various places around the room. All of them were tense and waiting for the next wave of demons to emerge.

“Hey, did I miss any of the action?” Farf said after phasing through one of the doors.

“Not yet.” Blaze smiled evilly and tossed him one of her swords. “Like old times.”

Farf laughed. “Like old times.” He faced opposite of Blaze and threaded one arm through hers, his fingers twining through the ones of her left hand. They gave each other a look before starting to rise off of the floor. Blaze's scarlet and gold wings unfolded as did Farf's silver and black ones.

“Farf's got wings! COOL!” Crawford said from the bar. Schuldig stuffed a cocktail napkin in his mouth to shut him up, then jumped away when Crawford grabbed his ass.

“Can't someone do something with him?” Schu said, stepping further away so that Crawford would have to move more than he was willing to at the moment to feel him up again.

“Not unless we were interested in rendering him unconscious,” Tatsumi said, looking at him over the top of his glasses.

“Would you? Please?”

“I sincerely doubt either of us wants to deal with my wife if that happens.”

“Point taken.”

The slow revolution Blaze and Farf had begun picked up considerable speed as several demons manifested at once. The two of them became an almost blinding blur of various colors.

“It's like watching a giant circular saw,” Schuldig marveled as they directed themselves through the mass of bodies. Literally cutting through the crowd of demons.

“That's essentially what they've become,” Watari said, marveling at the speed and accuracy with which his wife and her companion were removing the heads of the demons.

“Yutaka, Sunny did say that they had to be taken apart physically, right?” Tatsumi asked.

“Yes.”

Tatsumi's blue eyes took on a steely glint. “Good.”

“Sei, what are you up to?” Watari asked, looking at him suspiciously.

“Assisting our wife and her team,” Tatsumi said. He deftly wrapped the shadows around the nearest demon's arms and legs then pulled, tearing it neatly from sternum to groin.

Watari banged his head on the bar and groaned. “Sei, between you and Blaze I'm not going to have enough blood going to the northern most head to function correctly.”

“Pervert,” Tatsumi said mildly.

“Yeah, well, I learned from the best,” Watari said.

Schuldig blinked and tried to wrap his mind around what he'd just seen happen.

“Did I just see that right?” he asked, looking at a slightly startled Ken, who had come up beside him at the bar.

“I think we're having the same hallucination unless you didn't just see Sunny take that thing's head off with his damn pony tail,” Ken said, debating whether or not to get involved in the fighting and trying not to think about the implications of prehensile hair.

Schuldig turned his attention to Skye, who was standing on the edges of the fray. Whenever one of the things charged her, his heart nearly stopped until he saw it pause then burst into tiny pieces. She was concentrating and holding the initial barriers around everyone else as well so that they were shielded as well as taking the demons apart with sound.

Damn it! These things just keep coming! Star said, sounding frustrated. Skye had to hard shield her a few moments later because she had gotten distracted watching Aya tear open one of the things because it had come too close to Yohji.

Schuldig frowned slightly at the feeling he was getting from Skye.

Are you okay, lieb?

Just getting kind of tired. Nothing too terrible.

He thought for a moment then sprinted to the hidden sound booth just off the dance floor, that was currently being used as a killing floor.

Schu, what are you doing? Skye asked, sounding slightly panicked. Get back by that bar.

I'm helping you. You're starting to sound just like the Mistress.

Very amusing. They can't possibly have any decent music in that thing.

Schuldig frowned as he sorted through the CD cases until he found something that might serve as an energy boost for Skye.

Finally! I knew someone had to have good taste. Hang on while I figure out how to work this thing.

It isn't as if I have any other choice at the moment.

He figured out how to work the control panel and turned the system on full volume. Knowing that Skye reenergized and drew power from music, he figured the louder and more intense the music, the better off she'd be. He grinned a little as all the fighting paused for a fraction of a second when the opening guitar riff started then resumed as though nothing had stopped.

I got this feelin' in my veins
This train is comin' off the tracks
I'll ask polite if the devil needs a ride
Cause the angel on my right
Ain't hangin' out with me tonight

Skye smiled her thanks to him over her shoulder. The mischief in her eyes suddenly changed as the pieces of her vision came into sharp and clear focus in front of her eyes. She tried to scream and warn him but her voice seemed locked in her throat.

Schu! Move! Now!

He barely had time to shift his weight from one foot to the other before one of the demons seized him by the throat and flung him into the nearest wall.

Crawford seemed to stop breathing for a few seconds as what Skye had rerouted and blocked hit him full force. He rolled off of the bar and to his feet faster than any one had seen him move, pulling the Beretta as he stood.
