Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction / Yami No Matsuei Fan Fiction ❯ Red Shaman ❯ Fall Out (Pt. 1) ( Chapter 73 )

Blaze didn't bother with protocol or finesse, just phased everyone to the Red Shaman compound.

“Jeirn, do we need to get Ghost to another healer or the hospital?” Blaze asked.

“No. The initial shock was bad but I've repaired the major damage. Fortunately, it wasn't much considering her genetics. She should start to regain consciousness soon.”

“Good. Any other injuries?”

“Nothing aside from the usual cuts and bruises that go with the job,” Sunny said.

Blaze nodded and directed her attention to the living members of the party. “Everyone good?”

There were nods and affirmative replies all around.

“Wonderful. Everyone put you asses in the war room then,” Blaze said then turned to her husbands as everyone else filtered into the meeting room. “You two don't have to be here for this. “It's just post mission debriefing and a chance to decompress.”

“We know. We'll just stay in the living room until you finish,” Tatsumi said, looking to Watari for confirmation. Watari only nodded, eyes averted.

“Good. I think we need to have a long conversation,” Blaze said. “Honey?”

“Yes?” he replied, still without turning.

“Will you at least hear Chiro and me out before you do anything?” Blaze asked.

Watari's head shot up in surprise. “How did . . .”

“I know Bricru's M.O. and I know you,” she stated simply. “Please?”

Watari only nodded and made his way into the other room. Tatsumi watched him walk away then turned his stunned attention to Blaze.

“Blaze? He isn't thinking of leaving us,” Tatsumi said in disbelief.

Blaze closed her eyes and got a tight reign on her emotions. This was one of her worst nightmares given form. It was something she couldn't physically fight, couldn't turn to ash with a wave of her hand. Losing one of the two people she loved beyond her afterlife was something that could quite probably destroy her utterly.

“You know as well as I do that the right thing said to the right person at the right time can devastate anything from a relationship to nations. And that's what Bricru does best. Destroy everything and everyone in his path with only a few simple words.”

“But he can't actually think that . . .”

“He can think whatever he thinks and feel what he feels, Seiichiro. Nothing you or I say will change those things.”

“It's never bothered him before. He's known me since he died. He knew you were one of the Queens of Earth long before any of the rest of us did. He said that he had never cared what you are, just who you are. He enjoys your displays of power.”

Blaze nodded. “He enjoys yours as well. But the fact remains that it suddenly bothers him.”

“He has to know we love him, Blaze,” Tatsumi said, running his hands through his hair. “It never even crossed either of our minds that he wasn't an equal. Not for an instant. I don't care if he can't match you or I as far as firepower is concerned. He's better at a thousand and one other things that are more important. My gods, he's brilliant and comprehends things you and I can't even begin to fathom . . .”

“I know, Chiro. I know,” she said, wrapping her arms around him. “I agree with you wholeheartedly. But he has to work this out in his own mind.”

“Gods, I can't do this, Blaze. I can't lose him. They might as well just go ahead and ascend me if he leaves because I wouldn't have any reason to still be here.”

Blaze leaned back a little and gave him a curious look.

“Damn it, Blaze. You know I didn't mean that like it sounded.”

“I know,” she said, putting her head against his chest. “Both of us are painfully aware of the fact that he's what keeps us together. We don't function well without him because you and I are too much alike.”

“We can't just stand idly by and . . .”

“We have to. Much as I hate it.”

Tatsumi put his chin on the top of Blaze's head. “Do you think he'll listen to what we have to say?”

“If there's one thing Honey is good at, it's the emotional side of things. Thank the gods, because you and I are not great in that department, my love. This isn't our decision to make, it's his.”
