Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Anguish ❯ Chapter One ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Disclaimer:: Nuu... *sigh* I don't own Weiss Kreuz, or anything pertaining to it. Come to think of it, I don't own much of anything..... Hm... that's a problem... I'll have to do something about that. Anyway! Back on track! So, no, the Weiss boys aren't mine unfortunately!
A/N:: Please be kind. This was my first fanfic pertaining to Weiss Kreuz, so it's a bit old, and very disorganized, but I'm continuing it, so the later chapters will be written in a better style. Maybe when I find some time to actually concentrate I'll revise the first two. ^_^;; Anyway, R/R s'il vous plait. Oh, yeah, if you don't like Yaoi/Shounen-ai, you're better off leaving now, and don't flame me for it. Pairings:: Omi/Ken Aya/Youji??
Chapter 1
The night air is cold and a harsh rain pours from the heavens as a young man gazes out his bedroom window, his large, crystal blue eyes staring dazedly ahead. A gentle sigh escapes the boy's lips, casting a gentle condensation on the glass window pane. His bedroom door clicks open and a faint light from the hall falls on the boy's cheek, and a glare blurs his reflection in the glass.
"He's not coming back, is he?" the boy's own soft whisper startles him, though his eyes keep on their current track, staring toward the rain.
"We'll find him, Omi, I promise." The usual monotone voice of the boy's crimson-haired companion replied, now wrought with concern and sympathy. "We'll do whatever it takes."
"I can't take it, Aya!" Omi shours, balling his fists as tears fill his eyes, spilling onto his pallid cheeks. "What if we don't find him? What if we can't bring Ken back?"
Aya's hand is suddenly felt lying gently on Omi's shoulder, giving a light squeeze in silent consolation. "I told you we'd find him. I meant that, Omi. I have never lied t you, have I?"
Omi shook his head, rubbing his eyes gently. "I-I miss him, Aya." The boy turns in his chair and throws his arms around the taller man, standing close by him. Giving a painful whimper, he buries his face in Aya's stomach, trying to hold back the sobs that threaten to rise within him. A bit startled, Aya strokes the boy's hair, brushing back the soft golden locks that fall a bit messily over Omi's forehead. "I told Ken I would keep and eye on you.... Protect you if anything happened to him. Though, honestly, I never thought I would have to." His face expressionless, he kneels down and looks at his younger counterpart, still stroking back his hair, as well as wiping away the half dried tears on Omi's cheeks. "I know you miss him, Omi, but please don't cry. Youji and I hate seeing you cry."
"I can't help it, Aya." Omi sobs, his gaze falling sorrowfully to the floor, blue eyes practically staring through the rusty, reddish brown carpet. "I mean, I love you and Youji, but... Ken."
Aya nods in understanding, pulling the boy into a gentle embrace. "We'll help you find him, or help you through it if bringing Ken back isn't...." Omi erupts into fresh tears as Aya trails off, reluctant to finish that sentence.
"Still crying?" A sensually smooth voice asks as Youji saunters in, taking a seat on Omi's bed. "Cut it out, Omi. Nothing has happened to any of us yet. Ken'll be perfectly fine and you know it."
"He's really upset, Youji. At least have some compassion." Aya growls, rubbing the hysterical Omi on the back. Youji's eyebrows shot upward and he blinks, scratching his head at Aya's sudden display of feeling. "It's alright, Omi-kun, please stop crying." Aya says, his tone turning gentle upon addressing the boy.
"I-I can't... Aya...." he whimpers, burying his face firmly into the crook of Aya's neck after recieving a light kiss on the forehead.
"Oh, come on, Omi," Youji begins, smiling weakly. "I thought you and Ken were talking about spending some time apart. Well, here's your chance!" He says in an effort to lighten the moon, succeeding only in recieving two harsh glares.
"Go to Hell, Youji...." Omi says in a saddened manner, losing any sternness it was intended to hold.
"Now, now, Omi. You know what I always say to that." Youji replies. "'You can't tell someone to go to Hell if you don't know what Heaven is.'" He and Omi say together in a gentle chorus.
"As a matter of fact, Youji-san, the only taste of Heaven I have ever, or will ever, experience now stands missing... but you're right in a sense." He says, more tears bubbling into his eyes as he holds fast to Aya's embrace. "I know precisely what Hell is like because I'm living through it now. It's not that I can't tell you to go there... It's just that I wouldn't wish this on anyone... especially not one of my closest friends...."
Youji's expression softens at his words, kneeling beside him as Aya places a kiss on each of the boy's cheeks before standing. "I'm sorry, Omi.... It was stupid, but... I only wanted to make you smile." Omi nods and hugs himself, missing the sudden departure of Aya's warmth.
"Let's go. Omi needs to think." Aya says, returning to his usual, expressionless self, pulling Youji up and to the door. "We can check on him later."
Youji nods and the two exit the room,, leaving the grief-stricken boy to himself. With a wry grin, Youji turns to the redhead and tilts his head a bit, watching his companion's sullen expression. "He belongs solely to Ken, you know that, don't you?"
"Yes, what of it?" Aya asks, a hint of irritation in his voice.
"I see the way you treat him, Aya.... Omi loves Ken... The compliment one another, both sweet and naive like children...." Youji explains, running a hand through his wavy blonde tresses.
A harsh sigh resounds from Aya's lips as he moves forward down the hall. "Don't you have a date tonight?"
"Not tonight. That means I get to stay aaaaall night and bother you!" Youji says, playfully throwing an arm around Aya's shoulders with a smile.
"Hn! Figures...." Youji's arm is quickly brushed away as Aya proceeds down to the mission room. "And you could stand to show a bit more concern for your missing comrade!" He shoots over his shoulder.
"You're too uptight, Aya. Why don't you go get yourself a date?" Youji chuckles, dropping himself onto te couch, blonde locks dancing about his cheeks as he settles into his spot. "Get your mind off out little Omi for a bit."
"My mind isn't on Omi. It's on Ken and how the Hell we're intending on finding him." Aya sits beside Youji and scowls, deep violet eyes focused on a smudge on the glass coffee table, apparently deep in thought.
"What's there to think about, Aya?" Youji yawns, leaning on the redhead's shoulder. "We both know Schwartz has him, holding him in an effort to lure us out of hiding. They won't kill him. They're not that desperate yet."
"That's true, I suppose...." Aya replies, reluctant to agree with the flirtatious blonde. "But we can't just saunter in there, just the two of us. We'd never make it out."
"That, my dear Aya, is where Omi comes in."
"He's in no condition to fight them."
"Maybe not, but we are." Youji says, recieving a look of confusion and pre-meditated disapproval from his companion. "We crash in there, stir up the place, Omi grabs Ken and we're out like nothing happened."
"I'm glad you think it's so simple." Aya grunts, lying on the couch, his feet pushing Youji down a bit further, though Youji didn't seem to want any part of that. He slips under Aya's calves, then his thighs, resting a hand on his knee.
"You're never going to give me a chance, are you, Aya-chan?" He asks suddenly, watching the falling eyelids of his angsty companion.
"Why should I? You have a one-track mind and you're stubborn as an ox. I'm going to bed, goodnight."
"Yeah... goodnight...." Youji sighs as Aya stands and makes his way to the stairs, heading for his room. "That could've gone better." He mutters before resolving to spend the night on the couch. Aya's silence and Omi's muffled sobs were more than he could take....

A harsh banging on the bathroom door breaks the very sleepy Aya out of his early morning trance as he continues to scrape at the frothy layer of shaving foam that covers his chin and upper lip. "What do you want?" He asks, rinsing the razor under the faucet.
"I want to take a shower."
"I'm shaving, Youji."
"Shaving?" Youji replies with a light chuckle. "Shaving -what-? You have nothing to shave!" The bathroom door is pulled quickly open and Youji freezes, staring face to face with a very disgruntled Aya. "Morning, sunshine! Baby soft, as usual." Youji greets him playfully, pinching his cheek only to recieve a shove into the door frame in return. "Don't be so touchy. I was only kidding."
"Have you checked on Omi?" Aya asks, ignoring any words Youji may have uttered to him.
"No, not yet."
Aya gives a light nod as Youji shakes his head and retreats into the bathroom. Moments later, Aya appears at Omi's bedroom door, combing through wet, shower fresh red locks as he makes his presence known. "Morning, Omi-kun. Come on out and I'll have Youji make you some breakfast." He says quickly, twisting the knob and granting himself access to the boy's room, thought what he sees causes even his cold heart to melt just a bit; Omi curled up in his beanbag chair, a picture of himself in Ken's embrace locked in his folded arms. Aya walks over and kneels down, pulling the treasure from Omi's grasp and looking at it with saddened violet eyes.
"I told you he was Ken's." The gentle whisper prompts Aya to place the picture on the boy's night tableand sigh, turning to face Youji. The man is shirtless with a cigarette hanging from his lips as he towels off his hair, regarding the redhead with an almost sympathetic look.
"I can't bear to see him like this. I'm worried about Ken as well...." He sighs, resting his head on the night table. "If we lose Ken... Omi will surely die of a broken heart...."
Youji's eyes grow a bit wide and he steps forth, kneeling beside Aya with a look of faint worry on his features. "I've never heard you talk like that before...."
"Weiss is falling apart, Youji."
"No, it isn't." Youji places a hand on Aya's shoulder, looking down to Omi before returning his worried, emerald green orbs back to Aya. "We'll handle this. WE'll go tonight and bring Ken home. Everything will be like it was."
Still staring at Omi, Aya slips a hand over Youji's before pulling away quickly. Touching had never been his forte and now just wasn't the time. "Tonight, then."
"Yeah...." Youji looks down and gives Omi a light shake, rousing the boy for breakfast.
