Rough Housing
Yohji awoke at 6:50 a.m. In truth, he'd been up almost all night thinking about his roommate's serious attitude problem. Ken was his best friend. The two of them hardly ever fought and when they did Yohji was always disturbed by it. Since it was a Sunday morning, which meant he'd be working at the gym today with Ken, he really hoped that whatever made the younger boy so irritable last night was over. But just in case, Yohji rose out of bed nearly an hour earlier than usual to cook Ken breakfast before work.
Ken woke up groggily. He could smell food being prepared and hear the table being set. His brain registered who was making all of the noise and he flinched inwardly. The sight of Yohji with that redhead flashed through his mind. It was over, the battle had been won and he was not the victor. Ran Fujimiya was a lucky fuckin' guy.
Ken pulled the covers up over his head and tried to go back to sleep. He relaxed a little and his thoughts became blurry as slumber nearly overtook him.
Yohji finished up with the stove and turned it off. Everything was ready. Now all he had to do was wake up Ken.
Yohji went to his room and found a Disk he'd burned from the Internet of various songs. Yohji then padded softly into Ken's room. He placed the disk in Ken's stereo. One of the songs on the disk was Dearest by Ayumi Hamasaki. Ken loved that song so Yohji began to play it after turning the volume down very low. He figured it was a very sweet and peaceful way to be awoken in the morning.
Ken dazedly began to hear the sound of music playing and suddenly he felt the warmth of another body next to him on the bed. He squeezed his eyes closed as Yohji pulled the covers from over his head. "Stop," Ken protested with irritation.
"Wakey, wakey my love. It's time to eat." Ken sighed and groaned. He sat up in bed and rubbed his eyes before running a hand through his messy hair. Slowly, he turned to face his roommate. Yohji smiled. "Are you ready to get up now?" Ken nodded. "Good." Yohji climbed off of the bed and left Ken to dress himself.
Ken dragged his completely nude body out of bed and stretched his muscles before going to his dresser and closet to look for something to wear. After pulling on some underpants, he settled on a white, sleeveless shirt and a pair of black loose fitting shorts; typical of what he usually wore for his line of work.
Ken went into the dining room and took a seat. Yohji had already taken the liberty to fix them both up a plate and currently he was pouring Ken a cup of coffee. Ken felt different today and somehow Yohji looked different. Ken felt disconnected and Yohji looked disconnected. The air in the room was uncomfortable. Yohji thought of ideas for light conversation to make the morning more positive and easy going. "So…d'you have fun last night?" Yohji asked. Ken shrugged his shoulders and just kept chewing his food in silence. "Well, I thought everything went over pretty well. Juro really liked that leather jacket," Yohji said smiling. He tried to search Ken's vacant eyes for any expression. "You did a really good job picking that gift."
"Uh, huh," Ken breathed.
Yohji bit at his lip and shifted in his seat trying to get Ken to open up to him a bit more. Not wanting to beat around the bush any longer, he reached across the table to put a hand over one of Ken's free hands. Softly, he questioned the younger boy, "Did something happen yesterday that's bothering you? You can tell me." Ken's eyes went wide for a moment before narrowing. His mouth twitched but instead of replying he got up from the table to leave. He walked a few feet before turning back to glare, then proceeded back to his room.
Yohji jumped when he heard Ken slam his bedroom door shut. Bewildered, but not willing to let Ken's negative attitude spoil the rest of his day, Yohji cleared the table and readied himself for work.

Yohji started up his aerobics class without his assistant, Mae. It was the first time he'd done so in a while and he was beginning to forget his old routine. He took his place at the front of the class and had a good look around at the increase in number of subjects present. Now that Mae was gone, more women started returning to his class. Yohji smiled. "Alright ladies, time to start our warm up."
Meanwhile, Ken started up his own aerobics class. He hadn't noticed but there was much whispering among the class about him. Everyone could see how sad and empty he looked. Otsune who had also noticed Ken's cheerless mood popped her head in the door a few times to check up on him. Eventually she came completely into the classroom to speak with Ken. "Ken-kun, can we talk for a minute?"
"Sure, Otsune." Ken quickly appointed a temporary instructor from the class to lead the rest of the exercises while he stepped out of the room. "So what's on your mind?" Ken asked.
"Are you alright? You don't seem yourself today."
"I'm okay."
"Are you absolutely sure?" Ken nodded smilingly. "Okay. Well, if you feel like talking later on…you know where to find me." Ken took the girl into his arms as a physical thank you. He released the embrace shortly and sent her on her way.
When Ken returned to his class he tried to seem a bit more cheerful. Really, he felt like shit and couldn't wait until his break, but until then he'd just grin and bare it.
Later into the morning, Ken had truthfully managed to put the previous night behind him a little more. It just really hurt him to know that one of his greatest fears was coming true. Yohji's life was moving on without him. The older man had gotten a spiffy new job and just as Ken had suspected, Yohji also found a new love there. Not that Ken had ever been one of Yohji's love interests but he had hoped to be some day. [Damn it all to hell. How did I let a crush on one of my friends get me this torn up. Only God knows when this all will end. But for now, I should probably apologize to Yohji for how I've been treating him lately.]
Ken took a mental note of the decision and continued his work feeling a little less disinherited. Now all he had to do was summon up enough nerve to be plain with Yohji.
+++
It was almost noon, which meant work was nearly over for Yohji and Ken. Yohji liked to take his time when leading an aerobics class, he never rushed anything. Ken on the other hand liked to get things done on time if not earlier. With half an hour left before his shift was done for the day, Ken took the liberty of heading to the locker room. He changed out of his work clothes and made his way to the showers. To Ken's surprise, Yohji had actually beat him to it. The older boy shamelessly bathed with the shower curtain only pulled back halfway. Yohji noticed Ken's presence. "Hey, Ken." Although he tried hard not to show it, Yohji felt very uneasy around him right now.
Ken furrowed his eyebrows. "How'd you get here before me?"
"My last class was canceled for the day. The group who scheduled the appointment all ate at the same restaurant yesterday and came down with a bad case of food poisoning."
"That's gross," Ken said softly.
"Yeah, so until now I've just been hangin' out with Otsune at the front desk." Yohji paused for a moment. "She said she came to check up on you earlier." Ken didn't say anything. He just got into one of the little showers and closed the curtain completely. Ken heard Yohji finish up using one of the showers across from him. Figuring that Yohji had given up on fishing for information, Ken turned on the waterspout. Abruptly, Yohji pulled back Ken's shower curtain and stepped into the small cubical with the younger man. With such little room to work with, their damp and naked bodies rubbed against each other.
"Yohji!" Ken hissed, if they stayed in this position much longer he was going to embarrass himself, which he was in no mood to do. "This is not home. You can't just climb in here with me like this. If our boss catches us she'll think we're trying to screw each other. I can't risk my job like that."
Yohji didn't seem to hear a word that Ken was saying. He just stared into the younger boy's eyes expressionlessly. "I don't care much for what other people think. Especially not right now." Ken rolled his eyes. "I seriously need you to collect yourself. Fine, if you don't want to talk to me about what's bothering you lately but it's putting a damper on our friendship." Ken's face went gloomy. "Whatever it is…I want to help you, but I can't do that if you won't tell me what the problem is. I just need to understand." Ken sighed and rubbed harshly at his eyes. It was hard to tell because of the running water but the older boy knew that Ken was crying. Yohji pulled him into his caring arms. Ken mumbled something against his chest. "What's that?"
"I wanna talk about it when we get home."
"Okay, love. Just finish washing up and we'll leave," Yohji said as he kissed Ken twice on the cheek. He exited the shower and left Ken to himself. Yohji wondered what Ken had to say. He already had a pretty good idea but not wanting to jump to conclusions, he played dumb about the whole thing so that Ken could fully explain himself.
The two boys left for home. For Yohji the seconds that went by until they reached their house were slow but to Ken they were all too rapid. His thoughts were jumbled and he'd hardly planned what his choice of words with Yohji would be.
Yohji unlocked the door and left it open for Ken to step through. They gave themselves time to settle in.
After kicking off his shoes and putting his jacket away, Ken found his roommate in the living room. Yohji was sitting on the couch, flipping through magazines but not actually reading them or even interested in what they featured. He was just anxious and wanted to keep his hands busy.
Ken sat in a chair adjacent to where his housemate was sitting. Both boys remained silent, trying to think of how to begin the conversation. "Alright," started Ken. "This is hard," he said smiling weakly. "Yohji, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for how I acted last night. I was just mad because of something that had happened earlier in the day."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, nothin' big, but it still put me in a really bad mood. That was all."
"Are you sure that's it?" Yohji knew that there was more to the story than Ken was willing to lead on.
"Yeah and really, I am so sorry for being such a dick."
Yohji shrugged his shoulders and took a deep breath. He really didn't want to press the questioning any further. "Apology accepted."
Ken stood up and gave his friend a hug. The two held the embrace lovingly. Ken felt both defeated but relieved at the same time. He could tell that Yohji wasn't looking for any type of long-term romantic relationship with him, but somehow that was okay. Ken was finally coming to terms with the fact that the supposed love he had for Yohji was real but that it stemmed from confused sexual and overly possessive or even protective feelings he had for the older man. Although it hurt, seeing Yohji with Aya gave him a wake up call. Ken was slowly beginning to get over the infatuation with his friend but unfortunately, a lot of the feelings he harbored for Yohji still remained. They pained him with a dull ache but with high hopes, Ken knew that at some time they would dissipate.

Meanwhile, Ryu lounged around Juro's house in the same pajama pants he'd worn to bed. He was sitting on the couch watching an unfamiliar program. He never did watch much television but today was different. He flipped the channel twice and landed on a talk show. The episode featured a dysfunctional family nearly parallel to his own. His eyes and his heart weakened a little as he watched on. It disgusted him to see the audience take pleasure from the displayed family's pain. Anything to make themselves feel better about their own lives.
Juro came to join his brother on the couch. He'd brought two lemonades with him and sat the tall glasses on the coffee table. Juro immediately sipped his drink but noticed that Ryu was reluctant to do the same. [Well, I'm insulted,] Juro thought to himself. "Anything wrong with the lemonade?" Ryu was staring hard at the television and suddenly snapped back to reality with the sound of Juro's voice.
"No," Ryu replied as he picked the glass up for a sip. "It's very good."
"Well, you look bothered." Ryu didn't reply. "Thank you again for showing last night," Juro said as he scooted closer to his older brother. The younger boy sipped some more on his glass of lemonade before putting it back onto the coffee table. "Ryu."
"Hm?"
Juro took the older boy's left hand and held it palm up. Juro placed something rather cold into the open hand. "I believe this belongs to you." Ryu, who up until this point had dazedly been awake, focused himself at the object Juro had just given him.
"A pocket watch? I don't understand."
"You don't recognize it then? It was given to me last night on my birthday when it should have been given to you many years ago." Ryu's face turned to a look of realization and he closed his eyes. Holding that long forgotten item took him back five years to a lot of hurt and anguish.
"This isn't mine," Ryu said in a low voice.
"It was meant for you."
"Maybe…but I forfeited the rights to this thing a long time ago." He pushed the watch back into Juro's grasp. "It's all yours."

Ran Fujimiya picked up his telephone to dial Yohji's number. The phone rang twice before Ken answered it.
"Moshi moshi."
"Hi, is Yohji home?"
"Uh, yeah. Just a minute. Yohjiii, telephooone!" Ken called after his roommate. Yohji answered the phone line in his bedroom and let Ken know that he could hang up the other receiver.
"Hello?" Yohji questioned.
"Good Afternoon."
Yohji's mouth quickly drew into a smile. "How are you?"
"I'm very well. And yourself?"
"I'm much better now that you've called."
"I'm glad to hear that because I want to see you today."
"Oh?"
"Have you eaten lunch yet?"
"No, but I just got home from work and was about to make some."
"Well, don't. I wanna take you to a restaurant called Avalon. You ever heard of it?"
"No, I can't say that I have."
"You'll like it. It's a very charming place."
"Alright then."
"So I'll pick you up in half an hour maybe?"
"That sounds good," Yohji said calmly. Really, his stomach was full of butterflies. It'd taken all his strength not to make an ass of himself by squealing over the phone.
The pair hung up and got ready for their lunch date. After Yohji placed down the receiver his thoughts were still hazy. Not only had Aya made good on his promise to call but he was taking Yohji out to lunch and in just half an hour. [Half an hour,] Yohji smiled to himself. [Holy shit, half an hour! Did I actually agree to that? That's not enough time! I've wasted at least five minutes now just daydreaming.] Yohji redressed himself in something more suitable than his current outfit and sped to the bathroom to fix his hair.
Ken saw his roommate run across the hallway. He knew what the rush was about. He'd put two and two together that the unfamiliar voice over the phone had in fact been Fujimiya-san and that he'd probably asked to take Yohji out for a date or to lure him into his bed, whichever he wanted best. Ken could feel his face heating up a little at the thought of Yohji's naked body being slumped against Aya's in bed. Steadily he calmed himself. He had to remember that he was getting over Yohji. He shouldn't be concerned with the man's personal life.
Yohji freshened up as best as he could with just a few minutes to spare before Aya arrived. He kept teasing his hair not sure whether to just leave it down or put it in a ponytail. He had just grabbed a hair tie when he heard a knock at the door. [Aya. Guess I'll just leave my hair down this time,] Yohji thought to himself. He straightened out his collar in the mirror and headed to the front door. Ken had already answered it and let Fujimiya in the house.
Ken snickered to himself as he sized up the redhead. Yohji's footsteps distracted his attention. He looked up at Yohji. [Wow,] was all he could think to himself. Yohji had chosen to go with the casual but sophisticated look by wearing black slacks with a lavender dress shirt that had a couple buttons left open at the top.
Aya stepped forward to place a kiss on Yohji's lips. Ken rolled his eyes and left the room. "Good to see you," Yohji cooed. Aya stared at the moving lips. His thoughts trailed back to the previous night when that same mouth had been warmly wrapped around his length. Maybe after they ate lunch Yohji would still be hungry enough to suck him off again.
"You look very beautiful."
"Arigatou," Yohji blushed. Aya took him by the arm and lead him too the car. They sped off in his Porsche to Avalon.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was heavenly and the food was just as amazing. But after a while, Yohji found himself picking at his meal. He had more important things on his mind and inattentively he'd spelled out the word SEX with his food. Aya noticed the little masterpiece and leaned over the table to read it. After doing so he settled back into his seat with a grin. "Something on your mind, Kudou."
"Huh, oh." Yohji said as he himself realized just what it was he'd made on his plate. He quickly scrambled the message at the sound of the redhead's laughter.
"I think it's time to pay the bill, don't you?" Yohji nodded.
The two left the restaurant and headed to Aya's apartment. He lived in a five-bedroom penthouse at the top of a twelve-story building.
They boarded the elevator up and pushed number twelve. Yohji eyed the confined box as they rode up in silence. He suddenly felt slow but eager hands clutch him closely. Strong arms held him and he leaned backward into the embrace. Gradually he turned himself around and engaged his mouth in a very heated and very sexual kiss. Aya's hands palmed his back side and squeezed. Yohji whimpered a little. He could feel the red haired man's erection clearly now and it answered the hardness of his own aroused penis. Yohji had never had elevator sex before but as naughtily as things were going, this might be his first experience.
The elevator doors opened upon reaching the twelfth floor. Two older women stood outside the compartment with their hands clasped firmly over their mouths. Seeing two young men grope each other inside of an elevator wasn't part of their usual daily routine. The two boys stopped feeling one another just long enough to step out of the doorway and giggled to themselves as they did so.
Aya lead Yohji by the hand to his apartment. As soon as he unlocked the door he dragged Yohji in and pinned him against the wall. He laid a forceful kiss on the older boy's lips with fervor. Their mouths parted for fresh air. Aya grabbed at the slightly opened part of Yohji's shirt and tore it open the rest of the way down. Buttons went flying everywhere. Yohji looked at the redhead with widened eyes. "Don't worry, I'll buy you a new one," Aya said as he further removed the mangled garment from his partner's body and threw it to the ground.
Their groping moved its way to the living room sofa. Unsteadily, Yohji slipped to the floor and brought Aya down with him. "Oops, sorry," Yohji apologized.
"For what? I thought we were having fun," Aya said huskily before returning his mouth to Yohji's neck. His greedy hands fondled Yohji's thighs and played with the older man's stiffening cock the material of his pants.
Yohji busied himself by trying to unbutton the younger boy's shirt. His fingers just weren't stable enough to get the job done quickly, they were trembling with excitement. The redhead's skilled mouth caressed the length of Yohji's throat and collarbone. "Mmm, you smell so sweet," Aya chuckled lightly. He unfastened Yohji's pants and pulled them down his smooth thighs. Aya kissed the side of the older boy's face and whispered into his ear, "You've been a good boy to me, Yohji-kun. Now it's time for me to return the favor. The redhead shifted his face down between Yohji's unclothed legs.
Yohji closed his eyes tightly as he felt the teasing warmth of Aya's tongue slide over the head of his throbbing cock. The younger boy was holding his thighs firmly in place to keep him from squirming.
Aya gently fingered the length of Yohji's arousal from base to tip. He firmly pressed his thumb against the small hole at the swollen head of Yohji's cock and rubbed. "Ooh," Yohji started. He began teasing his own nipples between his fingertips. Yohji released the pressure of his thumb from Yohji's penis to tongue the now moistened area. Again he rubbed his thumb up and down the slit, wetting it thoroughly with pre-ejaculatory fluid. Raising the moistened digit to Yohji's mouth he whispered words of encouragement, "Taste it."
Yohji opened his mouth and allowed Aya's thumb inside. He sucked and swirled his tongue around it. "Mm, mmm," Yohji hummed to himself. Aya pulled his hand away from Yohji's mouth to return between the older boy's legs. He wrapped his hand at the base of Yohji's penis and hovered his mouth closely overhead. Slowly, he eased the sensitive head into his mouth and sucked proudly on it. "Oh, god," Yohji groaned. He instinctively lowered his hands to Aya's crimson locks. Aya took the entire length into his mouth and slid it in and out repeatedly.
Yohji bucked his hips upward into the gentle embrace of the redhead's lips. He whimpered uncontrollably with every touch of the tongue felt. The grasp around his length got tighter. "Uh, ooh," Yohji moaned. He could feel his completion nearing. Aya sensed that Yohji was almost ready to come so he quickened the pace of his sucking and took Yohji as far into his mouth as possible. Now each time the redhead bobbed downward his nose met firmly with Yohji pubic hair.
Happily, Yohji groaned and came into his partner's mouth. Semen spilled from the corner of Aya's mouth as he released the older man's penis. The redhead greedily lapped up the loose come with his tongue and closed his eyes as he savored the taste.
Both boys were panting steadily. Abruptly, Yohji sprung back to life from his tired and lazy position to pull his pants back up. He gave Aya one glance before attacking the younger boy. Yohji yanked away the redhead's pants to expose his unsatisfied erection. Aya spread his legs wide with anticipation. "Do it," he commanded huskily. Without further persuasion, Yohji plunged his mouth to Aya's angry cock and started up the oral game again.

3:00, Yohji comes home. Ken is in his room but he hears Yohji enter the house. The older boy is humming to himself. He strides to his bedroom and begins to remove his clothing. Ken is curious so he enters Yohji's room shortly. He sees Yohji take off his jacket but he has no shirt on underneath.
"Where's your shirt?" Ken asks while standing in the doorway. Yohji jumps.
"Oh, fuck. I didn't realize you were there…my shirt had a little accident today," Yohji chuckled to himself. Ken eyed the hickey marks about Yohji's neck and upper chest. The older boy noticed what his friend was looking at. He turned to a nearby mirror and fingered over the bruises. "They don't look too bad do they?"
"You hardly ever let anyone leave those on you. The sex must have been really great," Ken said jokingly. He hoped the jealously in his voice hadn't been detected.
"We just had oral. But it was some of the best I've ever had, I guess I just got carried away and forgot to request that he not leave little love bites on my flesh."
"You guys are moving pretty fast, don't you think?" Ken asked while staring at his feet.
"Yeah."
"Well…be careful. You hardly know him." Ken didn't want to ever see his friend get hurt.
"You're right," Yohji sighed. "Now that it's all done with, I kind of feel like an ass. It was just oral but like you said I hardly know him. We should have used condoms."
Ken shuddered inwardly. He couldn't understand how Yohji could be so smart at times and so irresponsible during others. It made his temper rise and though he tried to hold it in, there was no restraining the half joke, half insult coming up. "Well, if your throat closes up and your lips blister over don't come cryin' to me," Ken laughed bitterly.
Yohji looked at him oddly. [That was mean,] he thought to himself. [Truthful, but mean.] "Don't worry Kenken, I'm not about to get any diseases. I'm much too beautiful to let myself down that way," Yohji said smilingly. "Besides, pretty boys like you might not want to play with me anymore if I were sickly and I can't risk your company can I?" Yohji winked. Ken just rolled his eyes in amusement.
"Whatever, Yohji-kun." Ken folded his arms and leaned up against the wall. Yohji stepped forward and hugged him.
"I love you, Ken."
"I love you too, Yohji."
*Success! I haven't been able to use the Internet in almost a week! But now my ISP seems to be working correctly, so I can FINALLY post this chapter. A small but happy victory.
