The clock’s minute hand slid over and Ken raced to the lounge. He bought lunch from the vending machine and some aspirin as well. When he spun around to find himself a seat, his eyes caught notice of Aya’s red hair. The bossman had been sitting there the whole time, looking at a magazine article. Ken sat a few chairs down.
“I don’t bite, you know.”
“Wha...?”
“You always act so timid around me. Especially lately,” the redhead replied without looking up from his reading material.
“Oh, well I just, I’ve always been sort of a loner.” Aya looked up for the first time. He eyed Ken’s lunch. “Is something wrong?”
“No. I’m just trying to decide whether I should follow your lead and get something from the vending machine.” Ken looked down at the plastic container in front of his employer. “Left overs,” said Aya, noticing that Ken was looking at his apparent meal. “But, I didn’t realize how burnt it was until a few minutes ago.”
“Burnt?”
“Yeah, my boyfriend can’t cook. He burns everything. It’s my fault for not supervising last night.”
[Wow,] Ken sadly thought to himself. [They must live together.] Suddenly, his headache became even worse and he immediately popped the aspirin into his mouth. This day was almost more than he could bare.
“Oh yeah,” began Aya. “Touko is leaving on Friday. You can have his position if you want,” the red haired man nonchalantly said as he got up to put a few coins in the vending machine. “I don’t think it pays much more than what your already making but the responsibility it entails will move you up the company ladder faster. It’s about $11.25 an hour I guess.”
“That’s definitely more than I’m making now,” the brunette replied with a small lift to his voice.
“Hm, good for you then.”

At home Ken kicked off his shoes and stared at the door for a moment, sort of expecting Yohji to force himself in again. It never happened. Not that he was feeling horny but, he at least wanted the chance to sound off his feelings about the fact that Yohji and Aya actually lived together. They were practically married. That simple fact changed everything. He rubbed his temples in thought. At least one good thing had happened to him today but it was also sort of a bad thing. He felt so guilty. Here his boss was offering him a new job title that would actually allow him to pay off some debt when just the day before, Ken had screwed the life out of the other man’s lover. “What to do?” he asked himself aloud.
Ken walked back to work. He hesitated at the front door. “I can’t believe I’m doing this,” he mumbled. He almost hoped that his boss wouldn’t be there but, his car was visibly parked right outside. [Maybe he’ll be busy,] Ken said inwardly. [No, no pussy footing around. Let’s get his over with.] His employer had a habit of staying late by himself which was sort of scary. No witnesses in case the other man killed him after hearing what Ken was about to reveal. “Fujimiya-san,”the boy called.
“Yes?” answered a voice.
Ken knew it was coming from the copy room. He walked in and saw his employer bent over a fax machine. “I uh...have something to get off my chest. “I can’t bare it anymore. I thought I could but...”
Aya turned around to look Ken in the face while he stapled some papers together.
Ken started up again after clearing his throat, “What I’m trying to say is that...I’ve been having these feelings and please believe me when I say I’ve been trying to deny them. I tried mentally and physically but–,”
“Are you coming on to me?” The older man asked with is eyes in sort of a squint.
“What–? No! No, I –,”
“Good, ‘cause I’m not interested.”
“Okay...” Ken was shocked and a little hurt when he thought about it.
“You’re too short.”
“I’m what?!”
“Now don’t get all bent out of shape. Every once in a while somebody in the office falls in love with me. But, my standards are very high. Personally, I–,”
“I’m not that short,” the smaller man protested with a slight attitude.
Aya tilted his head. “C’mon now, let’s not kid ourselves. You probably can’t even reach the top shelf in the supply closet.”
“You know, with all due respect, you’re a little shallow and a little arrogant too.”
“And you’re just little. That’s my whole point.”
“Well, I’m big where it counts.”
Aya looked the other man up and down with an odd expression on his face. “This conversation is making me uncomfortable.”
“I meant my heart,” Ken said flatly. “So, stop looking down there.”
“I can’t. It’s stuck in my mind. I mean I know that you’re probably average at best but, I keep getting this mental picture of what you seemed to be professing...and it looks weird.”
“Average at best?! Wow, this must be Insult Ken Day. I’m not small and there’s nothing weird about me either– in that vicinity.” There was an awkward silence. “Stop staring!” Ken growled. “Fine apparently there’s only one way to set you straight.”
“Please don’t.”
“I have to.” Inappropriate as it was, Ken unzipped himself and held out his manhood.
Reluctant to at first. Aya leaned forward and had a look. “Bravo,” he shrugged. “I can accept being proven wrong.”
“Good.” Ken zipped back up. They both sort of stood around without making any direct eye contact. “Well...” began Ken, thinking of something to say. There really weren’t any universal guidelines about what to do next after you’ve whipped out your wang to show off to your boss. They were both thinking the same thing. Would things be weird in the office tomorrow? Probably so.
“Ah, dammit...” Aya whispered to himself.
“What is it?”
“Now I have to do it. It’s the only way to replace the balance to the universe. We both have to embarrass ourselves,” he said while unbuckling his belt. He zipped down and his penis sprang forward. “Well...here it is.”
“Not bad. Not bad at all.”
“Well, if you weren’t in love with me before, I’m sure you are now.”
“Oh, don’t flatter yourself.”
“I saw the way your eyes twinkled. And your own pecker got a little excited too.”
“That’s only natural. This is an arousing situation. Besides, it’s obvious you’ve been paying a hell of a lot of attention to what’s between my legs.”
“Why would I want to? Mine’s way bigger than yours.”
With a look of pure astonishment at Aya’s conceit, Ken pulled out his cock again for comparison. “We’re practically the same size. Besides, I get longer than the average person when I become aroused.”
“Doubtful.”
“You just don’t give up do you? Fine. It’s not like anybody’s here. Let’s find out,” Ken suggested as he started pumping his manhood. Aya followed soon afterward. They each looked back and forth to see who was growing more. It also helped them both to produce their erections; live porno.
“Ha, you see, I’m winning!”
It was true. The damn redhead was winning. A fact that was both humiliating and pleasing to see. Without thinking, Ken darted his hand forward to get a feel of Aya’s manhood and then slowly pulled back. “Sorry,” he added softly. The two stared at each other. The same awkward hush they’d been trying to avoid earlier had returned. Aya jerked his hand forward to touch Ken and then quickly pulled his hand back. The younger boy was visibly surprised.
“What?” asked the taller man. “I had to restore the balance! What I just did was totally non-sexual.”
“Are you sure?”
There was a long pause. “No.”
Feeling a little more comfortable the smaller boy advanced his hand again to his boss’s groin and gently swept his fingers around it. There wasn’t any protest which meant it was safe to keep fondling. He even engaged his second hand in the genital play
Aya put his hands on Ken’s shoulders. He slowly drew the boy closer to his own body for a more intimate connection. After a few moments he moved his hands to Ken’s private parts and then further pulled down the waist band of his pants for access to his backside. The skin there was smooth and firm.
Ken felt himself being spun around and then bent over a table. He closed his eyes and allowed his body to enjoy the soft hand that was sailing between his bum and the soothing feeling of the air as it met his opening once exposed.
“You’re very beautiful,” said a soft voice. It was lustful but it was sincere. “I don’t have any condoms.”
Ken remembered the fact that he and Yohji hadn’t ever taken that precaution and felt little embarrassed. “We–,”
Suddenly, voices could be heard coming from the front desk. “Fujimiya-san, are you there?”
Aya’s lavendar eyes shot open. “Oh, crap, I forgot!” he whispered. “Zip up, zip up!” he urged Ken. They both composed themselves just as Anna from Finance walked into the copy room.
“Hi, we’re all here for our statics project, Sir. We can lock up ourselves if you like when we’re done if you don’t want to wait around.”
“Uh...” no words seemed to come to mind as the red haired man stared blankly.
“That’s a good idea, right Fujimiy-san? After all, that’s what you were concerned about earlier, whether or not you’d have to stay any later than usual.”
“It’s really no trouble at all,” announced the chubby little woman. “We’ll probably be here for a while anyway. This whole team strategy thing has got us all pumped up!”
“Of course,” said Aya. “And Ken, I apologize for not being able to locate the paperwork to brief you on that new job title you’re applying for. I’m sorry you came all the way back to work for nothing.”
“No problem. But, maybe you can give me a ride home. And fill me in.”
The taller man could hardly stop from smiling. [Poor clueless Anna,] he thought to himself as he could tell she knew that something was up but, couldn’t quite put a finger on it. “My pleasure.”
“Uh...well I’ll just be...getting back to work now,” the woman giggled the way she often did in uncomfortable situations. She was beginning to mistake that her boss and Ken were having a feud rather than anything romantic by the influx in each of their voices. It was something she sure didn’t want to get caught in the middle of.

Aya unlocked his car doors with the little remote on his key chain. He climbed in first with Ken as a close second. The smaller boy closed the door behind him then stretched forward over the red haired man, kissing him playfully. He dove his hand down the front of Aya’s pants, wandering his fingers into a tuft of pubic hair. Ken climbed into the older boy’s lap as he pushed the seat lever to move it backward for more room. They held each other and they kissed for a moment before Aya pulled them back to their senses. “Put your seat belt on.”
Ken sighed and shifted back into his seat, strapping the belt across his chest.
Soon enough they arrived in Aya’s neighborhood. They halted at a tall black gate that opened upon the redhead’s command and closed behind them. The front lawn was well manicured and red roses were in bloom everywhere.
The older man fiddled with his house keys before jamming them in to the doorlock and leading Ken through the entrance. The younger boy followed his host’s example by taking off his shoes and neatly placing them in a designated area near the front door.
The house was furnished in a very contemporary style. All of the furniture seemed rather boxy and low to the ground. The lamps looked like something out of a Sci-Fi movie being that they were generally very slender and chrome. It had a cold yet vibrant setting that seemed to fit Aya more than appropriately. “Let’s go,” the redhead beckoned. Ken tried to keep up but, he was feeling rather tense. He tried his best not to touch anything in this Museum of a house that gave no clue as to the fact that anyone lived there. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing I, I’m just afraid I’ll knock something over or leave footprints on the carpet. Everything looks so perfect in here.”
“The benefits of having a maid. I was reluctant to even think of getting one until lately when I couldn’t even find my pet snake. He was trapped somewhere underneath all of the rubbish.”
“Oh, well it’s good you found him. I’m sure he missed you,” Ken laughed.
“Nah, he was dead.”
“Oh...” Ken frowned.
“So, how about we start up where we left off?”
Ken thought to himself for a moment, it’d seemed apparent earlier that Aya and Yohji lived together. Didn’t they risk getting caught? “What about your boyfriend. Won’t he come home soon.”
“He doesn’t live here.”
“Really?”
“Hell no. I mean he stays the night every once in a while but...hell no.” Ken nodded slowly. “That’s enough. Start acting like you did when we were in the car.”
“What, slutty?” the younger boy said rather smugly, thinking about how Yohji had labled him as such.
“I was thinking more along the lines of impulsive.” Ken smiled. “But yeah, I guess slutty fits too.” The grin faded in disappointment. “Come here,” the taller man requested as he sat on the bed. “Let’s get to know each other better. Why don’t you finish putting your hand all over my stuff, hmm?”
The shorter man actually began to feel a little bashful each time he thought about the fact that this was his boss. He had to go to work with this man everyday. And it was Aya Fujimiya no less. One of the most cut throat employers in the city. To see this non-mechanical side of him was strange. He almost seemed human. It totally put a damper on all the robot jokes that circled around the office.
Aya moaned lightly as Ken took his cock in one hand. He twisted his fist up the shaft repeatedly. Pre-ejaculate began to make it self evident. There was a lot more than Yohji had to offer which was surprising. It was making his hand sticky so he started licking it off. “That’s it. I gotta fuck you now,” Aya groaned as he scooted over on the bed and opened a wooden box on his night stand. It had condoms and lubricant inside.
The brunette stripped his clothes off and spread out on the bed. He looked around the room realizing that Yohji had probably also been in here dozens of times to perform the same actions.
“Any preferences?” asked Aya.
“Hmm...” Ken thought out loud. Why don’t you mount me from behind.
“Alright,” the taller man smiled...then, frowned...then, looked bewildered.
“You do know how to do it, don’t you?”
“Yes...”
Ken tried to read the expression on Aya’s face but, couldn’t. “Okay, what’s wrong?”
“I guess it’s finally kind of hitting me that...I’m not being very considerate of my boyfriend.”
“Oh...” Ken commented softly. He became suddenly paranoid and wondered if this was a trap. But, the worry in the other man’s eyes was real.
“I’m sorry I wasted your time. I just can’t go through with this. The guilt would consume me”
“Oh great,” Ken said disapointedly.
“I’m really sorry.”
“No. It’s not that,” Ken replied. What bothered him was knowing that he’d done an apparently righteous man pretty wrong.
“Besides, I would just be using you.”
“Well, it’s my descision too. I’m an adult.”
“Yeah but, I already said all that mean crap about you being a dwarf and then, I tried to get in your pants. I’m pretty much the bad guy here.”
“I don’t remember any previous dwarf comments but, ouch, that was cold.” The redhead shrugged. “And you aren’t that bad of a guy. At least you tried to put and end to this before things got too complicated. Howerever...there was something I tried to tell you earlier and failed.” The younger boy looked away.
“What’s goin’ on?” Aya could tell something was up and it didn’t seem pleasant.
“It’s Yohji. The other day we started flirting and I knew that he was your boyfriend...I just thought you should know.” He chickened out from the truth about his relationship with Yohji. I’ll admit that I’ve always had sort of a crush on you and fantasized about the whole boss and his assistant scenario but, Yohji was off limits. I put my job in jeopardy. You must think I’m so naive.”
“No. He has that affect on people.”
“Well...this has gotten sort of awkward,” Ken added with a drop of sweat coming down the side of his head. Now I can’t stop thinking about tomorrow’s deadline.”
“That’s right. I gave you the Ito case to organize, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, I took it home the other day to work on it. I couldn’t get the computer to function right at the office. I hope that’s okay.”
“Well, it is against company policy but, so is trying to screw your employees so, I’ll let that one slide.” Aya blew his bangs out of the way with a short breath. “Want me to take you home?”
“Yeah, I think we’re done here.”
+++
The car pulled up at Ken’s apartment and the younger man climbed out, thanking the driver.
“What an utter flop,” he mumbled to himself. First no sex and now he had the grueling task of organizing the Ito case which he’d had nearly a week to work on but he’d hardly finished. It was due the following day and now the pressure was on to make sense of it all so that if he had any competitors with the new position he was applying for, he’d be able to show some skills to rival theirs. After getting a little more comfortable with a change of clothes, he grabbed the manilla envelope from the living room table and sat on his bed with it. He leafed through the documents quickly and sighed to himself from the task at hand. “Dammit, I know I haven’t done much but, I at least thought I did a better job than this. The placements barely make any sense. I’ll be here all fucking night!” He rubbed the space between his eyes with one hand. “Okay, let’s just calm down and get to work.”
Ken spread out every sheet of paper and began to make piles according to their company departments or listings. Within the listings, he grouped the subjects. Within the subjects were two more groups, one to debate policies that were already at hand and another to persuade the use of a new policy, general company change or solution to the content under scrutiny. Debates came before persuasive parts to make the closing statements seem smoother. The most important was as follows:
Human Resources
=Employee Percentage
-Debate termination of Newhires due to lack of funds
-Persuasion to shorten employee probation periods (Solution)
Shuichi Ito founded Boa Tree in the budding age of technology. But, the company had been taking a nose dive for several years now and had done everything to try and keep itself on top. But, the old ways didn’t seem to work anymore in an era 30 years passed Ito-sans time. Even his younger partners had begun to grow out of touch with the common world as they aged. Their marketing strategies were outdated and no longer applied to the modern day household. Ito-san was stubborn against the idea but, merging with a more popular company seemed to be the only solution against going completely out of business.
FujiCorp and Kudou-Kom were the leading competitors in today’s market. So, why would either of them want anything to do with a company that was on the verge of shutting down? The name. Boa Tree meant quality. Only a small fraction of the general public knew of it’s money and advertising woes but, one hundred percent were still in love with what it at one time meant to buy Boa Tree products. Unfortunately, no one was buying much of anything they sold anymore due to all of the price hikes to overcompensate the company’s current lack of success. One of many self-destructive plans.
Ito-san and his partners decided that whoever could impress them the most with a new approach in sales strategy would be the company they’d merge with.
FujiCorp’s approach was no-nonsense cut and dry yet, with an air of old time familiarity to keep some of the value’s that Boa Tree stood for. However, recently a plan had been created to fire all of the Newhires that had been employed within the last eight months. That meant countless jobs lost and if the plan needed to be reversed, more time and money would have to be wasted in repopulating staff that had no business being cut in the first place. Instead, FujiCorp insisted that the six month probation period be shortened to three months. And that post-probation evaluations become more strict. That way all employees, new or old would be inclined to work hard. Whoever did pass probation would have proven themselves to be worthy within a shorter time frame and they’d know better than to assume it was okay to stop pulling their weight afterward. So whether someone had been their for eight months or eight years, everyone would have to prove that they were strongly productive.
Kudou-Kom however wanted to terminate anyone who didn’t pass a newly instated two part exam. It would be partly written and partly hands on. Which hardly made sense being that not everyone had the same responsibilities but, supposedly it would test the mind frame of each employee. It was arguably bias against the older generation but, supposedly that was the point. Out with the old, in with the new. New everything in time. It was just a con-game to trick old man Ito into signing over the goods. Eventually everything Boa Tree was just meant to become Kudou-Kom with a fancy new name. They didn’t wanna merge like FujiCorp did, they wanted to take over. Out with the old, in with the new.
“Done,” Ken breathed. He groaned and fell back onto his bed, stretching his back as he did so. Unfortunately for him, making sure that his organizational ideas made sense meant reading the entire report which took hours. “What a bore. I’m going to bed early.”
+++
The next day, Ken handed over to the Ito project to his boss and waited for further instruction. He also wasn’t sure what level or terms he and the older man were on at this point given the events of the previous day. “This’ll be fine, Hidaka. You can get back to work now.”
Apparently nothing had changed. They were still on a formal basis which actually made Ken a little sad. He’d hoped that somewhere down the line he and his boss could develop a friendlier more relaxed relationship, a privilege that only upper management seemed to posses. No, entry level employees allowed. [I’ll just have to make sure I get that position I’m applying for. Even though it means working really hard. Crap...]

That morning, Fujimiya-san reviewed the documents concerning his companies merge with Boa Tree and shared them with the other partners. His uncle who ran their branch was originally meant to present it but, handed the case back over to his nephew. This was one of the biggest cases their business had ever encountered and Aya Fujimiya had been entrusted with the responsibility of making a good impression. Though he was young, he was always confident and sharp. Qualities that kept everyone involved behind his every move one hundred percent.
At the end of the day, Ken was called back into his boss’s office. “You wanted to see me?”
“Yes. Has Yohji returned at all?”
“No, he hasn’t.”
“Good, keep your guard up. This is a crucial time for FujiCorp. I don’t need that ratfink finding out what any of our plans are and making a better strategy against us. If he asks to see me again, refuse him.” Ken nodded. “I mean it, kid. Tell him to take a hike. You can go now.”
+++
Ken walked home after work as he did nearly every day and tried to put the stresses of his professional life aside. The phone rang, he checked the caller ID. Yohji’s name popped up. His eyes widened and he made an instinctive move to pick up the receiver then, caught himself. The phone kept ringing but, he didn’t answer even though it nearly killed him to do so. After a few moments of silence other than the background noise from his television, Ken began to regret ignoring the call. He couldn’t help wanting to talk to his green eyed fellow again. To have the man rush over and show him a good time. To have Yohji’s strong arms pin him down to the bed and his soft mouth aggressively kiss his needy body all over. But, that was all wrong, such a wrong thing to do.
The brunette started feeling a little hot. He took off his shirt to end the discomfort. It was rather shameful but, he couldn’t help putting his hands between his legs. At first he just sort of tickled the sensitive area with his fingertips and wound up groping himself with a full palm. His pants felt so tight now. [I need to fuck.] Ken quickly walked his way to the bedroom and opened the drawer of his night stand. Eagerly, he sought around for the note Yohji left his number on. He plopped on the bed and rolled over to the other side in order to reach the phone on the other night stand. Sitting upright, he began dialing the numbers with his thumb as he mouthed each digit to himself. Something stopped him. It hadn’t hit him quite yet but, something was wrong. And then it clicked. “No way...” he whispered. Ken got up in a hurry and pulled his shirt back on. He had to get back to the office before it was closed up for the day.
Out of breath and entirely too late, the boy found the office doors to be locked shut. Not a single recognizable car was in the parking lot. Which meant that none of the other employees were around. He raced back home and nearly destroyed the apartment looking for his boss’s company cell number. After finding it on a business card he called only to be disappointed yet again when the voice mail picked up. Ken waited for a few moments then, tried again with the same results. This time he left a message.
“Hello, this is Ken Hidaka. Fujimiya-san I have very important information to share with you. Please get back with me as soon as possible.”
Knowing that the brief message was not enough he cracked open a phone book and turned to the residential section. “Oh, come on!” he nearly yelled, seeing a deluge of phone numbers for Fujimiya. “This can’t be happening. I’m in a dream, I’ll wake up, I’ll have a different life.” His phone rang just as he’d begun to spiral into the deep world of regret. “Hello?!” he answered quickly.
“Yes,” said the familiar voice of Fujimiya-san.
“I have bad news. It’s KudouKom.”
“They know our strategy.”
“Yes! And...how’d you figure it out?”
“I didn’t. The partners decided to meet with Boa Tree today rather than wait. Half way through our presentation Ito-san said he’d seen enough. That KudouKom had already shown them the exact same thing. Word for word.” Aya’s typically monotone voice dipped here and there with obvious sorrow and bewilderment. “Thanks anyhow for trying to give me the heads up. Even if it did come late, you accomplished something I was too blind to see.” There was a short pause. “Well, game’s over. I’ll see you at the office tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Ken hung up with a heavy heart. If only he’d put two and two together a little sooner. The evidence had been in front of him since day one. He picked up the note Yohji left behind and cursed himself. It was written on a sheet of paper that had been taken from the manilla envelope he’d brought home. It was now easy for him to identify by the heavy texture. His next clue should have been the night he finally decided to finish the project and noticed that the documents were way out of order from how he thought they should be. He would’ve never jumbled the papers up like that but, he disregarded it as his own erroneous work especially being that he hadn’t looked at it in days, he just assumed that perhaps he’d accidentally disorganized the case again. Of course it was all Yohji’s doing on his second visit to Ken’s home.
The brunette had been peacefully asleep when the older man awoke and started snooping around for the folder marked Boa Tree Etc. he’d seen the previous day. He hit the jack pot upon discovering FujiCorp’s layout for the Ito case. Yohji went through the whole thing with just enough time to snag a loose sheet of paper, scribble his phone number on it and meet up with his boyfriend for their dinner date. It was a dangerous move but, he liked the thrill of perhaps getting caught. Something that happened a little too late.
+++
The next morning, Ken went to work feeling ill. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up every time someone passed him. For some reason, he suspected that Yohji might come rolling in to do more harm.
The brunette fixed himself a cup of coffee and slowly walked to his desk from the lounge. In the hallway, he could see his boss packing up his desk. Ken stood in the doorway. “Sir?” he asked.
“Hello Hidaka.”
It was the first time the younger man had ever heard his employer say the word hello in such a non-formal tone, almost making up for the fact that the older man insisted on keeping it at a last name basis. It was creepy. “May I ask what’s going on?” Ken’s eyes roamed around the nearly empty room.
“I think I need a break. I might even resign from my position.”
“But, why?”
“I’m not as good at this as I thought I was. When I first started everyone said I was too young and that my decisions wouldn’t meet the standard of maturity that the office needed. I guess they were right. They were all right. Well, except for the person who gave me the job anyway. My uncle wants me to resign too. He says it’s my call but...”
“Why is all the blame on you?!”
“Isn’t it obvious? The only way Yohji could’ve known what he did is through me. I thought I was so careful. I didn’t let him move in with me when he wanted to. Even when he did come over, I never left any work lying around. I certainly always kept my mouth shut around him when it came to business. My uncle warned me this would happen. He said I was getting too close to the enemy but, I didn’t listen. If the other partner’s knew that I was dating Yohji they would have tried everything to run me off by now and upon realizing how Yohji got the information that he did well...cleaning my desk out wouldn’t just be an option.”
Ken shook his head with guilt. He closed the door behind himself for privacy and Aya looked at him strangely. “I have a confession to make.”
The taller man stopped what he was doing for the moment as Ken began to tell the story. Gradually, Aya’s red hair became flush with his reddening face. “I see,” was all he said. “Ken.”
“Yes?”
“Lock the door,” Aya said slowly. “I have to kill you now.”
“Well, uh...”
“No. No, I’m sorry. This isn’t your fault. You’re an idiot. You didn’t know any better. Yohji is the one to blame.”
“Oh,” the smaller man breathed.
“Die, Yohji Die...”
“I’m so sorry. I should’ve told you all this earlier. If only–,”
“Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda, none of that can help us now. I can’t believe I ever doubted myself, I’m not the screw up after all,” the red haired man announced as he quickly began refurbishing his office. “That’s not me at all. And I don’t know how but, I’ll get Boa Tree back. Hell, I’ve been on the front cover of nearly every Business magazine this year. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over!” Aya said with conviction as he headed for the door. He stopped just a foot away from the other boy. “And Ken,” he started calmly.
“Yeah?” Aya hit the bottom of his coffee cup sending the hot liquid all the way down his assistant’s shirt and the front of his pants. “Ah, ahh...”
“Be more careful,” the taller man smiled and strode off to set the world right.
Brand New Blues
At work, Ken suffered a massive headache from the clientele he was dealing with. No one seemed to be on the same page with him and their annoying voices wore thin on his brain as he struggled not to hang up the phone.

+++

+++
+++
