Chapter 4

"You do know I am resisting the urge to glare at a watch that is non-existent, don't you Schuldig?" Michiel hissed at him, glancing back at the door. "What could be talking the vampy looking guy so long?"

The German laughed, reclining against the doorframe. "You haven't seen Farfarello's work, have you? It takes a while." Schuldig frowned, then said, "Michi... OK, Michiel," he hurriedly said once her fist rose again, "this is strange. I usually have to drop my cloak in order to hear if Weiss is coming, but I can hear at least Bombay's thoughts loud and clear while I can't hear your thoughts."

Michiel shrugged. "Maybe Weiss's gifts are developing early, I don't know. I can hear his thoughts too, and Omi isn't exactly the brightest seventeen-year-old, is he?"

Schuldig gave her a straight face. "You haven't heard the best."

She waited, then laughed. "Th-th... Aya, he..." Michiel placed her hand to her mouth, trying to keep back laughter. "Ran... his sister, Aya... I wonder if whoever is Ran's screw toy realizes that they're only a fill in!" Her face was suddenly wiped clean of mirth. "Here they come. Chico, let's go."

"After you, chica."

"You never told me you spoke Spanish."

"Just enough to get me laid. Hey, keep your knee away from there. I still need that."

"Schwarz is suppose to be here, right?" Ken whispered, not wanting to break the eerie silence. "So where are they?"

A very feminine snort sounded from up the darkened hallway. "What, do you think we're all like that vampire-like guy, and have to walk around trailed by blood? You have got to be kidding. For one, getting blood out of hair? It's one hell of a chore."

Aya tightened his grip on his katana at the girl's fluty soprano. "Now Schwarz is getting girls to do their dirty work for them?"

"Chica," a familiar, nasal voice started, "are you sure of your orders? I mean, there's another group that isn't nearly as stupid as these guys... well, not by much..."

"Oh, but is this other group nearly as entertaining as these Weiss members?" the girl asked, amusement lacing her words.

Youji threw his wire out, hoping to hit either Schuldig or the mysterious girl. "Show yourselves, Schwarz!"

The girl sighed, and suddenly the lights flicked on. "Now, really, that couldn't have been your flash of brilliance, slut," she told Youji, her straight white-blonde hair shining in the bright light. "If it was, I'm going to get worried."

Schuldig patted her shoulder. "Now, now, chica, you should have been worried once you heard the name 'Weiss'." She turned to glare at him, and the German took one step back, his hands up in the air. "Didn't say it this time. I swear, you can't hit me for that one."

The girl glared at him for a few more seconds, and Schuldig started taking a few more steps back, his face startled. She turned away from him, to the other assassins, and the Weiss members started backing up as well, being pushed back by an invisible force.

"Another telekinetic?" Aya ground out, trying to keep his katana facing forward in that force. Omi cried out, his arm being forced in an unnatural angle as he tried to aim his dart gun. Ken went to his knees as he tried to force his body through the girl's power, and Youji tried to push his body off the wall he was pressed against.

"Schu, go knock the Chibi one and Blood Rose out, please," the girl told him through clenched teeth. "The others will be setting the bombs off soon."

The German nodded, and the light went off again. As suddenly as her power had started, it snapped off, and while Ken and Youji fell on their noses, Aya and Omi hit the floor hard on their knees. There were two heavy hits, and the other two assassins kissed the floor with their nose, unconscious. "Let's go, chica," Schuldig called out, his voice threaded with the faintest hint of shakiness. "And help me with these two. I can handle one, but the other's just too big."

Ken and Youji started up slowly, their eyes straining blindly in the darkness for their enemies. "Damn you, Schwarz," Ken hissed.

"Yeah, yeah," the girl's voice floated back from far away, "us and economy. Get over it, Weiss."

"Why is it whenever you two come walking up," Crawford asked, his voice a darker shade of irritation, "that you're laughing hard enough that tears are coming to your eyes?"

Michiel waved her free hand behind her to where the building used to stand. "Weiss," was all she could get out. She placed Aya on the ground, and let her butt hit the sidewalk. "Are they always that stupid?" she finally managed to say, wiping her eyes as she stood.

"They're usually worse," Nagi informed her, which just sent Michiel off into another round of laughter.

"Your laughter hurts God," Farfarello informed the girl, which finally shut off her laughter.

"God?" Her ice blue eyes shone now in anger. "What 'God' are you talking about? I was betrayed by what the Christian's call 'God' at birth." Michiel's arms shook with the need to hit something. "I abandoned 'God' at a young age. I don't give a flying fuck if what I do hurts or helps the piece of shit. And if you're going to be around me, then you're not going to say one more word about that damned Christian 'God', you understand?"

Schuldig forced himself to lower an eyebrow. "Alright, now that you've pissed Farfarello off with your rant about God, you want to explain how you did that telekinetic show?"

Michiel picked Aya back up, and slung the unconscious Weiss member over her shoulder. "None of your freaking business. Let's get going, because I have to get some sleep. Bring Omi to my place." Her voice was as cold as her eyes.

"Should we be leaving Weiss alone with you in your place?" Brad asked, then stumbled back a step as a telekinetic punch flicked across his chest.

"I am tired," Michiel told him, her voice steely. "If they try to escape, they'll find that SZ has put a not-so-nice field around the house. If they try to kill me, they'll have to do it with their bare hands, and during that time they'll find out that I'm not as helpless as I look. And I doubt that either of these two will try to get me into bed with them. After all, they aren't Schuldig or Youji."

Schuldig grunted, and moved Omi into a more comfortable position. "Sure, put me in the same sentence as a Weiss member.."
