~*~Flashback~*~
The warm summer breeze blew at the silky, black curtains covering the window. The sky was a mix of purple and orange, a sign that it would soon be morning. Ran sat at the head of his bed, leaning his head back on the
wall. He was exhausted from staying up all night, but he refused to go to sleep. He rubbed at his eyes with the back of his hands before getting up and heading downstairs to the living room.
The crimson haired assassin slowly descended the stairs, afraid he would fall from the lack of energy. When he got to the living room he fell back on the couch and picked up a book from the coffee table, pretending to
read it. Every few minutes, his violet eyes would wander to the door, then back to staring at the book.
Ran could faintly hear the sound of Omi's alarm clock from upstairs, which meant it was now 6:00 A.M.. He was worried. It wasn't like his lover to stay out this long. Yohji had gone out clubbing that night, like he did
every Friday. Since he had been in a relationship with Ran he had shortened his clubbing to one night a week. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
He called at 2:30 A.M. to tell Ran he loved him and he would be home soon. Ran planned to stay up and surprise Yohji when he got home, but that never happened.
Deciding that if an hour went by and Yohji was not back he would go looking for him, Ran walked to the kitchen to get some coffee. As he was pouring the steaming coffee into a mug, Omi came bounding down the
stairs.
"Good Morning Ran-kun!" He exclaimed, with a smile on his face. Ran just smiled and nodded, sitting down at the table with his coffee. "Where is Yohji-kun?" Omi asked, looking around.
"He isn't home." Ran answered, growing more worried with the mention of Yohji's name. Omi cocked his head to the side, still confused, but decided to leave it alone. Just when Ran was about to take a much needed
sip of his black coffee the phone rang. He put down his mug, let out a frustrated sigh and began to get up.
"I'll get it, Ran-kun! You enjoy your coffee!" Omi offered, bouncing over to the phone.
"Thank you." Ran answered, settling back down and picking up his mug again.
"Moshi moshi." Omi answered. "Oh! Hel-what? Are you joking?" He asked, his voice now filled with seriousness. Not used to hearing the genkie blond like that, Ran stopped drinking his coffee and turned to look at
Omi. However, Omi refused to look into Ran's eyes.
"I think that is something you should be telling him, not me." Omi whispered. "...okay. Good bye." Omi hung up the phone and turned to face Ran.
"Who was that?" Ran asked him, but Omi just bent his head to look at the ground. "Omi! Who was that on the phone?"
"I-I'm so sorry Ran-kun." Omi whispered so low Ran could barely hear him.
"Did something happen to Yohji!?" Ran yelled, getting up from where he sat at the table.
"No . . . Yohji is fine."
"Then what happened?" Ran's voice was still raised slightly, but he was more calm knowing that Yohji wasn't hurt.
"He's gone, Ran. He isn't coming back," Omi slowly raised his face and looked at Ran with tears falling from his eyes, "He found someone else."
Ran's eyes grew wide in realization of what Omi was telling him. How could he do this to me? I love him! Ran quickly turned and bolted up the stairs. This can't be happening. Why would he leave me? It seemed to
take forever before he finally got to his room, and only when the door was locked and he was leaning against it did he started to cry.

"Ran?"
"Yeah?"
"What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing. Go back to sleep, love."
"Ran?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, Ken." But you're not Yohji.
