'I guess Mother read us too many fairy tales as children,' Aya thought to himself.
Taketori was dead. Aya made sure of that fact, yet somewhere deep inside he had hoped his actions would result in his imouto waking up. In fairy tales, once the evil menace is disposed of the heroine awakes.
Aya went to the basement of the shop and turned on the computer there. 'Persia is dead, thus there is no Kritiker anymore. No more Weiss. I need to find a good hospital for Aya. I need to get away from here.' He began his search.
He wasn't sure exactly when Yoji entered the room. He minimized the information on the computer screen, so it wouldn't be obvious. "What are you doing here?" Aya asked.
Yoji stared at him for a moment before speaking. "I wanted to see how you were."
"Why would that concern you?" Aya asked a little harsher than he wanted. He wasn't sure what he was going to do about Yoji. They had been keeping each other's beds warmed for months now. Yoji seemed to understand it was nothing more than a reason to chase away ghosts and nightmares that left one shaking in the middle of the night. No other commitment was ever broached.
"You're feeling let down, aren't you?" Yoji asked. If he was irked by Aya's harsh question, he wasn't showing it. "It's something I'm familiar with. I thought I could help you."
"What are you talking about?" Aya asked confused.
"Every since we first met, you have only been about one thing ... revenge. You got your chance and you succeded. But now you're feeling empty," Yoji said as he walked closer to the redhead. "The sky is not brighter. The air doesn't smell sweeter. Isn't that right?"
"What would you know about that?" Aya retorted angrily. "What are you suppose to be? My psychiatrist? My confessor?"
Yoji sighed as he pulled up a chair to sit next to Aya. "Do you remember when we went up against Riot?"
"They were letting their clients mutilate the prostitutes in their employ. What about them?" Aya gritted out, wondering why they were having this conversation at all. He knew he didn't want to have this conversation with Yoji. He needed to find a place for his sister and not waste time reminiscing. But he also knew if he just waited it out, Yoji would leave and he could continue.
"I had run up against them before. They were the ones who killed Asuka ... well, they helped to kill Asuka. I should have never told her to go on without me. It seems I was fated to constantly repeat that mistake. Maki didn't deserve to die like that either. Still, I wanted to make sure we got the bastards this time around, for Asuka's sake."
"You did get them Yoji. I didn't know why you were determined to show up even though you were hurt," Aya said quietly, watching the events play out in Yoji's face. He seemed to be miles away from this dank basement.
"Yes. I got them. Then what happened? I pretty much cut myself off from all of you. I moped around depressed for weeks because nothing had changed. Yes, we got rid of Riot, but there was also something else just as evil in its place for us to eradicate," Yoji sighed. "You helped me snap out of it."
"I did? What did I do?" Aya asked confused.
"You let me lick my wounds alone, yet you always seemed to find ways to force me back into joining the living. It's when I started to really like you," Yoji said with a small smile. "Now it's time for me to return the favor."
"I don't see how you can," Aya muttered. Strong hands pulled him forward into Yoji's embrace. He tensed for a moment, unable to react. Yoji had always been a tactile person and this hug was ... just a hug. Aya's arms wrapped around Yoji to return the hug.
It felt good to be held, even while awkwardly sitting in rather uncomfortable chairs. As Aya pulled back, Yoji looked at him with an inscrutable expression on his face. Yoji rose from his chair and held out his hand to Aya.
Aya stared at the hand, then its owner. He took the hand and was pulled up from the chair and pulled into another embrace. Aya loved his family and with the exception of his sister, they weren't a family that touched one another. It took months of being with Yoji before he could train himself not to shy away from the simplest of embraces.
Yoji moved back a little, only to take his hand to stroke Aya's cheek, as he leaned in to kiss him. The kiss was soft and light. Aya could feel butterflies fluttering in his stomach, as Yoji deepened the kiss. Aya found himself relaxing to Yoji's kiss and returning it with equal intensity.
Yoji pulled them over to the couch in the room. The kisses were broken long enough for Yoji to fall back to the cushions of the couch pulling Aya on top of him.
Aya's senses were on fire with each sensual touch of his skin. He began to tear at Yoji's shirt, trailing wet, soft kisses over the exposed skin. Yoji moaned softly, pulling Aya's sweater up and off. The basement was really a little too chilly for this activity but neither man seemed to care about that.
Aya only knew he had to make this count. This would probably be the last time they would be together. As alluring as it was to stay in Yoji's life, he had other obligations. However at this moment in time the only thing that mattered was letting himself be consumed by Yoji's fire.
Yoji's kisses became rather desperate as his hips grounded themselves into Aya's. Aya hissed at the sensations that were washing over him. He looked down at Yoji who smiled back at him. But the expression looked fake. Aya could see sadness in those beautiful green eyes. 'He knows,' Aya thought. 'He knows this will be the last time.'
Aya leaned down to kiss Yoji, his hands skimming over smooth skin, lingering over peaked nipples, rubbing and pinching them, allowing himself to feel drunk from the gasps and moans from his blond lover.
Yoji's hands had slipped under the waistband of Aya's jeans, rubbing and squeezing his buttocks pulling the redhead even closer to him than he was before. Aya reared up high enough to open his jeans and work on Yoji's.
Now their clothing was a cluttered pile by the couch. Aya wondered at the silence. Yoji was always a rather chatty lover, yet the only sounds he was hearing were gratifying ones of ecstacy. The worrying thing at the moment for Aya was trying to find something to use to make things easier for Yoji.
Yoji dug his hand under the couch cushions and pulled up a much used tube to present to Aya.
Aya raised a curious eyebrow at the blond writhing beneath him. "You think of everything huh."
Yoji laughed. "It's not mine. I found it in the couch weeks ago. I'm guessing it's Ken's. Waste not want not. Besides I would never bring someone down here to do this. It has too many creepy associations down here."
Aya wasn't sure if he should be insulted or not. However when Yoji arched his hips hard against him, he didn't really care anymore. He took the tube and squeezed the gel to his fingers, warming it slightly before returning to the task at hand of making Yoji moan louder. With gentle care, Aya slowly prepared Yoji, until the other man begged him to finish it. Before he could find the lubricant again to smear on himself, the other man beat him to it, quickly rubbing the cool gel on his hot member. He pulled Yoji's hands away otherwise it would become a very quick experience. With long legs pulled over his shoulders, Aya plunged in.
Aya was never one to vocalize much during sex, however, the feel of Yoji wrapped so tightly around him, made him lose restraint. Yoji was doing something with his muscles that would grip him at unexpected moments. It was difficult not to come right then and there, but he wanted this to last as long as possible.
Yoji was staring back at Aya, vocal as ever. He pulled the redhead down for a kiss, his arousal reacting to the friction, nestled between their chests. Reluctantly, Aya reached between them and began stroking Yoji's cock. It didn't take many strokes before Yoji stiffened and cried out, "Ran!" Nor did it take long before Aya quickly followed. With effort Aya didn't think he had, he slowly pulled out of Yoji, letting the man get into a more comfortable position, before he flopped back on top, exhausted.
The room was silent except for the sound of breathing trying to get back under control. Yoji's hands caressed his lover's back in soothing circles. He broke the silence first.
"So when are you leaving?"
Aya lifted his head off the blond man's chest to look into deep green eyes. "Tomorrow."
"What about your sister?" Yoji asked, trying not to show surprise at the suddeness of his departure.
"How do you know about her?" Aya asked.
"I am ... scratch that, I was a detective you know, Fujimiya Ran," Yoji said slowly with a smile. "You were itching to destroy Taketori, I got curious. Then you vanished once a week telling no one where you were, I started doing some investigating. At first I thought you had a lover somewhere. Or you really were seeing Sakura," Yoji said, watching Aya snort. "So I followed and did followup work. Of course you're not answering my question, what about her?"
"I've been looking at hospitals before you came in. I found one I think will be good for her. They won't be able to make the transfer for about a week. I need to go so I can find a place to live and a job," Aya said.
"Omi could help you," Yoji said.
"I know, but I want to do this on my own. I have no one but Aya. She's my only family and I must protect her," Aya said, regretting it when he saw the hurt expression in Yoji's eyes.
"I'm must be as corny as Omi. I'd like to think on some levels Weiss is family too. Why can't Aya-chan stay where she is. Why must you go?" Yoji said, wincing at the neediness in his voice.
"Kritiker is no more. Any enemies of Kritiker could go after us. We're all unprotected at this moment in time," Aya explained.
"I think we do a fine job of taking care of ourselves. We have been doing it. It's not like Kritiker was sitting on our doorstep watching after us," Yoji argued.
"Without Kritiker, someone has to pay for my sister's hospital care. Even if we stayed in this shop, there's no way we'd make enough money for me to do that properly. You are all safe, you only have to take care of yourselves. I have responsibilites. Who's to say someone wouldn't try getting to me by hurting Aya?" Aya said, angrily.
"Well if you bothered to tell the rest of us, we could shoulder the responsibility too. We could help out with payments, and keep an eye out for her. If you'd let us," Yoji said calmly.
Aya let Yoji's calmness quell the anger inside. A small smile touched his face as he shook his head. "It's a lovely thought, but I can't risk it. The farther away from here we are the better."
Yoji gazed into his lover's violet eyes and sighed. "I guess there's no way I can talk you out of this?"
Aya looked back at Yoji in regret. He really wished he could chance it to stay with him, but there were some things more important than love and companionship. "No."
Yoji sighed, before he eyes twinkled and a very evil smile appeared on his face. "Why don't I make this a memorable night? If I have to walk with a limp tomorrow, so do you," he said before kissing Aya impulsively.
Aya wouldn't argue this. Anytime Yoji kissed him like this his mind would turn to mush. While Yoji's touches and kisses brought him back to life again, he thought, 'This will have to keep me until we meet again... if we ever meet again.'
